Vampire Lord and existing vampires?

OK, how does this work...
  1. I am a vampire but I did not buy the chapter, do I use the old or new abilities?
  2. Am I automatically a vampire lord if I am already a vampire?
  3. Is there a new quest or process to become a vampire

    1. New
    2. Yes
    3. Yes

Its a skill line rework so everyone gets it regardless of what happens. Also they are reworking the vampire quest to go along with the new changes.

Ok, the cynic in me knows the entire purpose of the rework is to drive crown sales to get vampirism the easy way, and then to cure it a month later when it gets nerfed to the ground.

Actually many people are already looking at getting it cured already. A lot of people got it for the damage reduction and resource regeneration passives and nothing more. Will there be people who stay vampires? Of course, because there are people who do want to play as a vampire. The issue though is many of the vampire changes do not exactly help healers, tanks, and stamina DPS all that well, so they're probably the first to curse themselves. Stamina builds can still make use of some of the new passives, but it is largely a magicka skill line.

Yup I have a couple of stamina DPS who will be *** over royally by this. I'd have been even more annoyed if I had spent real money to get the vampire bite from their store, talk about false advertising

You aren't a vampire lord. It's a different bloodline to the one shown in Skyrim.

But to your questions. It's a base game update. So all characters who are vampires will get the update. If you're max level vampire now you'll be a max level vampire then and can play with the new Vampire Scion ultimate.

No talks on whether a quest will be involved. I doubt it. *Edit* I mean that no talks on whether a quest will be involved for current vampires to become the new vampire. Possible changes to current quest to become a vampire at all.

It sounds like being a vampire will have more negatives than currently. Which is good in one way as it might cause some people to cure themselves. On the other hand new abilities and a transformation ultimate does make players interested!

Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.
    Necro for them RP feels.

I'm very interested in what the ability cost increases turn out being. That could essentially kill their signature change for this Chapter. Hope it does not turn out to be as utterly buggy and messed up as Necromancer was.

Like someone else said, I haven't heard a single person in any of my guilds/ESO discord groups looking forward to the new vampire. Instead I've heard a LOT of people planning to cure vampire as soon as this hits, because it's a straight nerf to sustain with no pay off for that hit (the skills are very disappointing for PvE).

Necromancer was a buggy mess because they were too busy sucking Nightblades *** during the PTR cycle that was SUPPOSED to be for ironing out the Elsweyr and Necromancer bugs. And for the people whining about the regen passive going away, [snip]. you're losing AT MOST 200 mag/stam regen and that's if you had 2k recovery already. you'll live just fine without that passive, you act like it's impossible to sustain without it despite there being plenty on non vampire characters that'll happily point out that they don't have sustain problems. Grow up.

My point exactly...the cost increase con could essentially kill the skill line. Which would be about as embarrassing as the garbage state they released the necromancer class

I would personally prefer that all DPS not benefit from being a vampire, as the recovery benefits seem BiS right now. Making vampire its own playstyle (like werewolf) makes more sense to me

Can't you cure it in-game for like 500g? Don't use the crown cure lmao

In case someone doesn't know this:

    Currently

To get cured from your vampire (or werewolf) curse, look for Prelate Sabinus inside the Mages Guild at the main cities: Evermore in Bangkorai; Rawl'kha in Reaper's March; and Riften in The Rift.

The cure costs gold, six hundred and something. The cure is instant and refunds skill points that are spent. If you get infected again, you will have to do the quest again and, once completed, your skill line progress will be at the same place that it was before you were cured.
