Why does it feel like pvp more rewarding than pve?

I prefer PVE over PVP, so it is just each person's preference.

Because PvE is mostly about DPS if not questing, where PvP you can actually do whatever you want (no joke). Battles are also rarely static, unless you use a glitch or ultra-cheese build.

If pvp is the most challenging then why is it all the pvp'ers completely suck at pve but lots of pve'ers are bosses at pvp?

To be fair, they could be a Necromancer.

The real challenge may be attempting to understand why it is that nearly 3 years later someone answers their own question; with another question that seems to contradict the former.

This is 100% true, It's because in PVP things are dynamic meaning it's not like PVE where things are "scripted".

    ?

To try and attract more people into playing it I'd imagine. Of course, that doesn't seem to take into consideration that a lot of players simply aren't remotely interested in PvP and will survive without the "rewards" that come with it.

Winning a fight with a real person is more rewarding then killing a computerised npc

Rewarding? I can't agree there... you get a new title and dye for every room you walk into in PvE. What do you get for 20k PvP kills? 50k? 100k? 200k? Nothing. You get nothing.
In fact, you don't even need to kill a single player to become an Alliance War Grand Overlord.
Eso PvP doesn't reward actual PvP at all.

if that would be the truth everyone would run with all trifecta achievements.

Essentially this. Victory over cunning/crafty opponents is usually more satisfying than victory over scripted AI.

I am a PvE guy but when I play PvP I feel good and feel strong. The thrill of fighting someone in cyrodiil, small battles like 1v1 to 5v5 not the giant zergs, and taking keeps just feels enjoyable. I had a long 20 minute fight with someone in cyrodiil the other day over a resource and it went back and forth before I ultimately won and I felt satisfied. Unlike in pve when I beat a hard dungeon I'm just like... yay cool.

One of my fav pvp moments is when I had to hold off a keep of AD, I'm a nord dragonknight, long enough for my group of EP brothers and sisters to come back me up. I managed to hold on and killed a couple. It was glorious

That depends on your content and your role. As a PvE healer, I have to quickly respond to the the needs of the players on my team, since people aren't perfect and this game is FAR from perfect. Half of the time, we're fighting bugs as often as mechanics, which means we can't always predict how the flow of the fight will go, and support has to be able to compensate for those broken mechanics by keeping the team alive in spite of it all.

I also spent the first 3 years of my time in this game solely in Cyrodil, so I do agree that players are most often unpredictable, making them more challenging to fight (which is why small group PvP is usually the most fun, imo). Most PvPers travel in large groups or zergs these days though, and large groups of players are almost always completely predictable, so fighting them becomes repetitive and a little boring.

I guess it all just depends on what you're doing and how you're doing it, yeah?

I played exclusively PvP for years before getting enough of it and switching to mmo genre. In PvP you play against opponents that (have ability and may even actually) think for themself. I myself don't care about MMO style PvP because typically poor balance and gear & power grind but disregarding that PvP can be fun in ways PvE simply can not.

I've seen plenty of PvPers with multiple DLC trifecta achievements so I dont know about that "all PvP'ers completly suck at PvE".

    Greetings,

We have gone ahead and closed this thread down since it is rather old. Please keep in mind that sometimes it is better to create a new topic, instead of replying in one that was posted a while ago.

    Thanks for your understanding.
