Blood Scion - Vampire Ultimate, not looking so great?

For Serana and Valerica, which are similar to each other being daughter and mother, it's transformation with sun weakness. Thus I like to think that Lamae shouldn't be able to transform into a Lord. It should be unique to Volkihar or their ANCESTORS and we, the ESO players, should get it from that ancestor, not Lamae. Mixing the bloodlines would also explain why we can transform (or imitate the real thing) while still not taking sun damage.

If you get turned by Serana in Skyrim you get the vampire lord form from her. Their entire family all share the same blood and its even stated in Castle Volkihar that the other members of the court can also turn into vampire lords, but they don't since its "not very impressive." Its a shame though that they don't use the form in the final battle if you sided with the Dawnguard as it would be a kind of a wake-up call to remind you who you're dealing with.

Then again like many things in Skyrim Bethesda didn't implement things they really should have, and it wouldn't be the first time that game had some.... questionable things. *Cough*Delphine'sEmbassyQuest*Cough*

She doesn't. The form that she gives you is specific to her and is separate from the Vampire Lord

You don't know that. You're speculating. And this has been suggested before. By me, even.
The point I was making here was that she can't possibly give us the Vampire Lord without a retcon. But I would also welcome a lore explanation why it's NOW that we can activate Blood Scion.

We are talking about the same game company that has been changing the way abilities can skills work for years. We're also talking about the same company that has stated that every single DLC and game expansion takes place in the same year.

Why can't I spam energy orb and have lots of them active at the same time? Why doesn't ambush always stun the target and they can never get back up? Why doesn't crystal fragments stun anymore? It's best not to think about such things because you'll find the problem permeates throughout this game. It gets worse as it goes further into development.

I can live with that. Whether Destructive Clench has a DoT or stuns or is short-ranged, it's still Destructive Clench.
Having the Lord form or not is a significant difference. Bat Swarm is not Vampire Lord. And unlike all the other skills in ESO, Vampire Lord is actually one from previous games and with its own lore. If the writers at ZOS are as talented as I expect them to be, they will give us some explanation for the new ultimate. That's all I'm saying.

I pretty much hate all the changes to the vampires. Especially the Ultimate.

I spent over an hour making my character to look like it does and then even couple of tokens to tweak it to be perfect.. Character made purely for vampirism... They destroyed my Drain essence, but the passives stayed, so i thought that why not.. I can always use the ultimate instead of boring necromancer ultimates. Bat swarm is cool and my character stays the way she is.

Then they take the destruction of my characters appearance even further than just being with dead and ugly skin.. Now i look like something thats not representing my character in any way. I really hate it. REALLY HATE IT!

Understandable, but they probably won't even bother and have it explained in the new vampire quest to obtain it. They'll treat it like she could always do that.

Comparing the current changes to something else I feel like the changes to the vampire ultimate are more like the changes to stonefist in the DragonKnight skill line. I used to use stone giant all the time since it was an amazing 28 meter stun that gave me minor resistances. If the stun was successful the damage was boosted from 5k something to 10k damage so it was an amazing ability to weave in my rotation.

After the change I can't even use stone giant anymore since it's a stamina ability and a pretty bad one at that. I also love the bat ultimate since clouding swarm deals a lot of damage in just a short amount of time, but sadly once again a beloved ability of mine is getting tossed aside for something else I probably will not use all that often. Speaking of that form I still wish they update the appearance of what we've seen to something much better. ((Just to stay on topic of this thread))

If they (ZOS) explain it in the new vampire quest, fine. I can live with that. But they must explain it somehow. And it shouldn't be too difficult. Hell, just throw a new scroll somewhere explaining it, if they can't get new dialogue lines from Lamae's voice actress. Just do something!

They've already said they're reworking the entire vampire quest. So yes, it most certainly is going to be explained.

As much as me and my roleplaying friends did not want ESO to have a vampire lord form, sadly the evidence is there to conclude that its not only possible, but that the Vestige is no less a vampire than the Dragonborn if they side with the vampires in Dawnguard.

As for your reasoning that she can copy the abilities off other clans doesn't that mean that she does in fact have in her power the ability to turn herself, and her children, into vampire lords?

Or maybe since lamae is the first vampire molag got better at making vampires as time went on.

In a way you're right, but you don't turn since you're the Vestige. We have the disease but it cannot turn us because of our current soulless affliction, so its Lamae herself that does the turning. Also in the book you get it says on the first line:

"What is the Rite of the Scion?
A ceremony wherein a mortal inflicted with vampiris is accepted by the Blood Matron. This mortal obtains her blood and her favor, becoming a Scion."
