Now that you point that out I have to agree. The model is a bit too buff considering this is a very magical group of individuals that try to avoid using their claws. They wanna live forever after all and the only way they can die is a violent end.

Female version is the same way. Skinny and agile but also monstrous in her own way.

This. There is 0 reason for them to not have a female model with this. Its either laziness, or sexism. Imagine if the male characters were forced to have female bodies with certain motifs, or with the vampire scion form.

To be fair, that is from Alpha testing. It might be different upon PTS

Also, the Bloodline in ESO is not Skyrim's bloodline. We're of the Lamae line not Volkihar so there are going to be differences between bloodlines

I don't know if it's "disparaging", exactly, but it's odd.

They have some unusual ideas about the way females look in this game, in general.

It's like they are rejecting the idea of femininity, both in the way females look and in the masculine-only versions of titles and so on.

The males of a race are often prettier looking than the females.

Things like the angle of female noses being more typically masculine, than the angle of the noses of males, is rather strange.

You have to work quite hard at making a half-pretty looking female.

    That doesn't happen by accident.

    Lacking visible *** =/= genderless.

If the body has male proportions, it reads as male.

The models from the preview were obvious placeholders, not final art. The art will be fine. The real problem is the implementation of Blood Scion as a weapon-wielding, skillless polymorph (like Bone Goliath) instead of a fully fleshed out skill line (like Werewolf, or even like Volendrung with the skills pre-selected).

Many of the motifs have extremely male proportions, the bone colossus could simply mirror the general bone structure of your toon, the Scion, if it goes through will be another example.

    That doesn't happen by accident.

I feel like you have a skewed view of what the average woman looks like. I am not trying to insult, or anything, just hear me out.

The female faces are not the prettiest, true, but neither are the males on average, the game has a weird character creator, the faces all look pretty bad unless you work hard at it. Have you seen Nords? They have almost like Oblivion levels of puddy face. Their biggest issues with faces lie in the cheeks and eyes. But outside of that, I always really liked that they didn't hyper beautify or sexual the characters in this game. No the woman are not super pretty, but on average, most women are not hyper pretty. Its a breath of fresh air after years of the sexual dimorphism we got from WoW and other titles where the woman just had to be the most bangable.

it feels like they are more grounded in their approach rather then the typically less grounded treatment females get with their armors and faces, and bodies in most fantasy games. I mean, there are for sure some issues with the frames and faces but I think thats a universal issue that game has with the way they constructed the character frames and faces... Lets be real, the game just has mostly ugly humans at their base templates. because I think they struggled with the subtle of racial features. But they can be molded and made to look good, we know this because we do it. I mean, look at this *** below.

    xfht218vqemw.png

Thats a base template for a breton I was given once.

And female noses look fine to me, I am not sure I agree with you on that one and I disagree that men look better for one very serious issue I have with this game, and that the male chests.... Why do they puff out so much? Its like men had balloon chest and their stomach is a string to keep them from floating off... This is why I think over all, the big awkwardness you see is rooted in the way characters are built in this game... They have weird and awkward models round the board.

As for the issues with transformations, lets be real, most of them have only a masculine form cause it's closer to a asexual form and with them having to push content out every year, they probably cut every corner they can to meet the deadlines, which is why the chapter a year *** should be stopped. They were able to get away with it for a while because who wants to see *** on a WW or bone monster but now its getting harder.

This is going to have to be a agree to disagree moment, because I don't see it, the armors looks fine, they look like what I would expect from a chick in armor, and the cloths fits their form pretty well. and the bone monster is just a bone monster, you are the only person I have ever seen have a issue with it. But to be fair to you, where there is one, there will be others.

I would rather keep the whole appearance of my character as is and add some aura plus lavitation to that and maybe some wings too but thats that. I designed my character and as a vampire being a lifestate rather than werecreature, i expect to keep my appearance. Now changing to werewolf or werebear is completely different thing.

Furthermore. Vampirelord/mistress should be reserved for NPC only. Players can be the wqeaker thralls to them. Not everyone can be a lord or lady nor king or queen.. Everyone can be average joe/Jane though.

OT: I for one would love a female wolf and vampire lord model, but I have a sneaking suspicion the reasoning will be "it's a genderless monster"

Thoughtless disparaging of women is somehow better that thoughtful disparaging of women?

as far as models go wolves are different than vamps... vamps are primarily humanoid but werewolves much less so, so you would expect to see less noticable difference between m and f wolves

Gee, haven't really been around here for a little while and this thread just made me look up the Scion form for the first time... kinda wish I hadn't, tbh. I mean, others have said it, it's okay if it's fugly, that's to be expected, but is it really too much to ask for it to be a feminine version of fugly for female characters?

Yes, but then they will also have to make female version of WWs too...

It's about time that got done!!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I'm sorry, but what you're saying has nothing to do with logic, much less science. I might agree with you if the Scion Form actually looked like a giant bat, or the werewolf like a giant wolf, for that matter. But they obviously don't, they're anthropomorph versions (and in a fantasy based game, no less, so pulling the science card here really doesn't work), which is pretty important in this regard, because it means that yes, there should be visible differences between genders! It doesn't make a lick of sense that the transformations of, say, a hulking Nord guy and a small Bosmer girl should look exactly the same and there is no excuse for ZOS not giving us an appropriate female model.

Wack. So the blood scion not having a female specific model means the entire company ignored women that play this game?

Yikes. Talk about a bad take. They aren't forcing you to take the ultimate, if you don't like it then don't take it.

Did it cross your mind that the Blood Scion is supposed to look a bit more masculine, but still kinda genderless?

The issue is the damage from the bats is very low as we've seen from Fex's video. That is subject to change but it lost 2/3rds of the damage it once did per second. Now the old ultimate lasts for 7 seconds, but I'd rather take the more bursty damage over a short period of time than the long amount of damage over time that forces you to stay close in order for it to be more effective. At least clouding swarm gives you a gap closer + very impressive spammable on top of that powerful DOT.

I really hope they give us the option to turn off the transformation WITHOUT losing the ultimate or morphs, kind of like how the helmet toggle works. I don't want to lose my ultimate but this update was very lackluster, ESPECIALLY on the visual level.

We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.
