Skill gap
Just a few thoughts I have on these changes...
While I agree that light attacks are doing too much dps, a 78% nerf is simply too much. Something around 40-50% would be much better, allowing those that enjoy weaving to squeeze out a bit more dps while missing light attacks doesn’t completely wreck your damage. There are simply too many skills and gear sets that rely on light attacks and even with the changes weaving isn’t going away, it just makes it less rewarding. Completely gutting the damage weaving provides only invalidates the time and energy players have put in literal YEARS to become efficient at it.
Another point I would like to mention is that maybe this skill gap wouldn’t exist if ZOS didn’t completely flip the game on its head every few months. This only makes it more frustrating for lower skilled players to keep up with while only annoying good players as they will adjust as they always do. Radical and frequent changes like this do nothing to help most lower skilled players, it just adds to the confusion and drives people away from wanting to learn as it might all be for naught in a few months. I stopped playing for months because of the DOT meta as it made the combat absolutely atrocious and I waited to come back until things went back to how they were. There’s no need to take a sledgehammer to combat every few months. Make small adjustments. Tweak a few numbers at a time. Is this really so difficult?
