I could probably write 20 pages in response to your post, but I wont. Haha

First, PVP and PVE are completely different, what works in one really wont work for the other. I play a decent amount of sorc, in both settings.

Pets: I prefer a one pet build (twilight tormentor) for PVE DPS. I prefer a 2 pet Build (Matriarch and volatile Familiar) for actually trying to solo difficult PVE content. For Open world PVP in Cyro, I typically drop the pets all together, but for battlegrounds, i do like the twilight matriarch for the heal.

Gear: Lots of options at this point. Meta PVE gear is going to be some combo of trial sets depending on the fight. Easiest place to start is with Julianos (craftable) and mother's sorrow (can purchase or farm in Deshaan). For PVE, generally go with all divines, and a shadow mundus.

For PVP: Make all your gear impen, and run either the max magic or magic regen mundus. Then you need to typically pick a damage set and a sustain set. Sorcs are a bit of an interesting class, because you can sort of do both at the same time by simply stacking max magic. With no pet, crafty alfiq is a great place to start. With a pet, Necromancer is a good place to start. In BGs, I run both together. In Open world cyrodiil, I have had a lot of recent success mixing crafty alfiq and seducer (simply a sustain set). Sorcs are also in a great position to take advantage of pirate skeleton. The healing Debuff when it procs, doesnt hit sorcs nearly as hard as other classes because they dont heal, they shield as a general rule. I generally look to a monster set for defense rather than offense in PVP, so another great option here is simply bloodspawn. Hard to beat bloodspawn on almost any PVP build for any class.

Streamers: I would check out Liko on youtube if you really want to see a high end DPS rotation. Not the best place to start as a beginner, but it will give a good idea of what you should be working towards. My PVP build probably most closely resembles a build from Dotzgaming, but i definitively make some changes for my particular playstyle.

Skills and rotations: Way too many things to go into, but a few things to think about. For PVP, you get kills with burst. The idea is you are trying to soften targets by weaving a spam skill like force pulse, and then you are trying to get your curse, frags, and potentially an ultimate to all hit at the same time, preferably, while they are stunned. You defend by using shields and Line of sight. You manage resources with dark conversion. You get mobility from streak and or Boundless storm. Streak is also your best stun, and boundless gives you resist.

In PVE, it's about sustained damage. Generally speaking with a pet build, you center your rotation around Daedric Prey. Cast that skill every 6 casts, keep up DOTs, and otherwise, spam FP/Elemental weapon and cast your frag when it procs (never slow cast frags).

Is It possible to do BG, Maelstrom and Dungeons without a petición build? I dont really enjoy with pets :S

Thanks a lot for info of rotations and skills!!

Certainly, but it just wont be optimal. A double pet sorc build is hands down the easiest way to clear Vet Maelstrom, but it can absolutely be done without them (I actually think the second easiest clear is a stamina sorc with no pets). They do a lot of passive damage, and also draw a fair amount of damage away from you.

The reason I like them in BGs is that we are in the midst of a solo queue only. I can't count on their being a lot of extra heals going around, so I just think they make sense. For dungeons (assuming DPS in a four man group), it simply amounts to a damage loss. The Tormenter does a LOT of damage, and all your really have to do is make sure it's alive and cast Prey every 6 seconds. Certainly not required, but you will simply do less damage without pets.

If you havent used pets in a while, I would give them (at least one) a go. The are "smarter" than they used to be. A heavy attack or Daedric prey will auto target them. They are not nearly the headache they once were.

IMO Maelstrom is easiest without pets these days. That might be partially due to the Asylum Staff build I’ve started using in there, but enemies are dead long before the Scamp can saunter over to them. It’s also annoying when pets die and you have to do the lengthy summoning animation.

So... i will try a non-pet build. I know It would be harder but i dont like the pet flying around :S

I second scamp being funny there, as long as u keep up your surge and kill them all fast enough, u dont need pets. Especially 4th stage last boss.

Honestly, that doesnt surprise me. I havent run VMA in well over a year, and it's been longer since I did it on a mag sorc. We have so much more DPS these days. My only potential push back is easiest for a rookie and fastest for someone with multiple flawless runs might not be the same thing. My fastest runs have always been without pets, but a double pet build can basically heavy attack and shield spam their way through the whole arena.

Yep, there was a discussion on the forum with players using basically a tank build with 27k HP to get trough vMA, everything on one bar. I mean you gotta be super clumsy not to do it like that.

Personally I never liked cheesing it with such builds. My 1st attempt ever was Stamina DK in PvP gear (Hunding+BP+Velidreth 2H/Bow) and I got to the last boss in about 4 hours but I was too tired, having been in Cyrodiil for about 6 hours previously. The first clear was non-pet sorcerer the day after, and then on the 3rd day came back with the DK with different gear (VO+Briarheart+Velidreth 2H/Bow) and did it in about 2 hours. In about a week I had cleared it on Magicka Templar and Stamina NB. Magicka Templar was absolute hell, since it was around the Horns of the Reach patch and all the class skills damage had been messed up by Morrowind "balancing". I farmed it like crazy for about 3 months, and before Clockwork dropped I had multiple copies of every weapon in decent traits since I was getting 2 per run, 1 from the chest, 1 from the leaderboard by then. And re-trait had become a thing so even those in non-ideal traits were put to work soon.

After that I only did it once per character when they became mature enough since I didn't need to farm it - basically a graduation exam of sors. Got Flawless on Stamina Templar quite unexpectedly last June, didn't realize it till I saw 2 achievements pop instead of on. And I'm a mediocre DD, being mostly tank main, I don't have arena Asylum perfected staff or newer sets Lokkestiiz, Relequen, False God etc. since I wasn't very eager running those trials. I have just crafted gear and whatever I could get from dungeons, Craglorn trials and some older DLC ones: on stamina characters it's basically Hunding+VO of they have Major Fracture or NMG+VO if they don't; on magicka different combos of Julianos, IA, Mother's Sorrow, Scathing Mage and lately even tried my hand using Master Architect on Magicka Warden and Moondancer on Magicka Necromancer - I know it's non-META build, but I'm having fun with it - I love popping Avid Boneyard, pulverizing trash mobs and getting the bonus :)
