When the reward system was launched, there were empty days at the end. This would be a return to the original design, which I think is fine.

It was a better design, imho.

This is a quote from the UESP page:-

"The rewards follow a sequential order, which is different for each month and corresponds to the number of days in it. On each login, a reward can be claimed. Claims do not need to be consecutive: if you log in for the first three days, claiming rewards, and log in on the fourth without claiming, you'll receive the fourth reward when you next claim a reward. Note that this means that if you miss logging in or claiming rewards for too many days, you may miss the higher-end rewards, as the reward schedule will change with the new month."

So, it's as I thought, if you miss a couple of days, you lose out on the final big rewards at the end of the month. Which is why, I think anyway, it would be good to offer a few less days in the cycle so people can effectively catch up if they've had to miss logging in for what ever reason.

If you mean collectables by "big rewards" that is exactly what is already happening. ;)

I'm okay with one or two empty days at the end of the month, but going 10 days without a daily reward is a bit much. Besides, we tend to get the "big reward" of the month on day 7, 14, and the biggest on day 21. After that was always just currency.

I like the currency at the end, especially for the PvP stuff. I don't see a problem with keeping it around 28 days if you want some days of nothing, but I like getting something for logging in the last week of the month.

You do not have to log in everyday.

Nothing in the rewards will get you becoming Emperor or earning Godslayer.

In my case, I log on almost every day. I sometimes miss one or two of these rewards. Sometimes I get them all. I am doing my daily in-game stuff, anyway. If I miss a day, and miss a reward, and it is not a biggie, but if they want to reward me for logging in, they should reward me every day that I log in.

Sure. Why not. It's all I log on to do now anyway so why not make it so I can miss some days. Hey better yet make it only the 4 stared days. I can squeeze in 4 days of logging in.

I'm pretty certain it's a marketing/statistic ploy to force us to log on everyday. It's a metric they can show to corporate or investors that say "x people log on everyday, the game is booming, we need raises and more time off"

I'm glad they changed it so the 'big' or unique reward comes earlier. It was frustrating the first time they gave 100k as the big reward, on the last day of the month, to keep getting asked by friends, guild members etc. what I was going to do with it and having to say I didn't have 100k to spend because a month before I'd been away from home for more than 24 hours.

It's not even that I minded losing out on the gold, it was more that everyone else was talking about it as something absolutely everyone in the game was given and then acting surprised that I didn't get it, as if I was the only person in the world whose life did not conform to the schedule ZOS required. When things like that happen on a regular basis I start getting the impression ZOS don't want me here if I'm not going to meet their expectations, and then I'm inclined to go and find another game which doesn't pressure me to log in every single day.

I don't mind the system they've had recently where the last week or so is just small amounts of random currencies, I almost always miss at least a few days but at least I don't log in to everyone going on about how great it is that they got 1k alliance points or whatever. But I certainly wouldn't complain if they stuck with just doing 3 weeks out of each month, especially since I rarely finish one even when I want to.

You should have included a 3rd option for other.

I'd say yes if the reward weights are adjusted for having less days in the month, i.e. 1000 gold on a 30 day month being 1300 gold on a shortened month like we have now.

nah. I do like that their "apex prize" is around the 19th-23rd of each month so that you dont have to play every day to get the big rewards. but those last couple days of free gold and AP are also nice too cuz it adds up.

the trash prices like the meals and potions and XP scrolls add up too, and are great for altoholics like me. so yeah no. more rewards will always be better than less rewards.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

The good rewards, anyway, should all be in the first 3 weeks. Make the leftover days all crown drinks and poisons that most throw out.

(I actually have been saving one stack of drinks, and some of the poisons, in the unlikely case I need super-sustain but I'm too lazy to cook, or take head trauma and decide to play PVP some more)

What I'm saying is that you will not lose out on progress by missing a day.

And if you miss a collectable... Well it won't stop you from playing. Sorry, but it really won't.

They already effectively are. But I actually like the notion that I am ‘free to do other real life things’ which the current 21 day cycle brings. I think it is a great move.

ZOS made a good choice in the first place by having the main reward on or around the 21st day. That way it’s not a big deal if you miss a few days and regular players get a nice reward. The last few days have generally been filled with a trivial amount of AP or gold.

The days of 100k gold on the final day are well and truly over and that’s a great thing.

Daily rewards should be about encouraging players to play regularly, not obsessively.

The game is great fun, but then so is a whole pile of other stuff.

It isnt a big deal regardless. Imagine complaining you didnt get something for FREE. There is nothing wrong with a reward for every day of the month.

The last time that there was anything "significant" at the end of the month was September of 2018, where we got 100,000 gold on the 28th. Since then, every month has ended with small amounts of currency of one kind or another.

I don't see anything wrong with that and as a matter of fact, I prefer it. I can miss 7 to 10 days and not really lose out on anything but if I log in everyday, I still get something.
