For me, I dislike Stonefalls due to the lava and difficulty getting around it. I also hate to play Coldharbour because it is just dank and depressing.

Clockwork City is a joy because it was so different and Rivenspire was nice and relaxing.

I dislike all wood elf zones, because they tend to be a massive pain to get around due to the terrain. Also, I'm not a fan of wood elves, which is not helping. Doing Grahtwood, Greenshade, and Malabar Tor on a new character is a chore for me.

My favourites are Stros M'Kai and Alik'R. I guess I just really enjoy the desert landscape.

I dislike Cold Harbor. Not the zone itself but the fact the zone does not actually open up without a lot of mandatory quests. It was fun the first time but for alts it became so annoying I simply do not ever go there. I really wish they gave you an option to skip the quest lines and simply go to the zone for skyshards etc.

I've never done bangkorai and I've played since launch. Not thrilled with really any of the DC or EP zones. Not into swaps. Or lava wastes. Skyrim looks just like where I live in real life so bored of that. High rock is so mundane. Deserts suck. Wrothgar is just orcskyrim.

But AD. Aaaahhh so magical and different and unique thick graht forests mile high tree cities of valenwood lush jungles of elsweyr and the pristine shores of summerset. Mainland summerset being my favorite. Auridon and the bosmer zones come in second and then the khajiit lands. Southern elsweyr being preferred.

I don't mind Deshaan, or Eastmarch and The Rift. But Shadowfen and Murkmire are just awful. I fished on four characters there (one each on each account, on each PC mega server), but I'm not EVER doing the quests. Yuck. Only TES swamp I'm interested in is Hjaalmarch. Actually, I'm not interested in helping Vivec either.... creep. And Almalexia is even worse....

I love the DC zones except for Rivenspire. That place annoys me all out of patience, and I seriously have zero use for the vampire crap there. In fact, it griped me that one of the early hirelings says she's one of Verandis's wards. Ick.

CWC is fun - in a kind of strange direction, since Sotha's there (a living god needing my help again *rolls eyes*). And I actually don't mind Coldharbour, because I personally quite like the shades of blue. Not to mention getting to beat the tar out of Bal. After a lot of pre-dinking around of course (as is the case in all the questing in this game - which isn't exactly how I like things to work....)

I love the look of Grahtwood. I'm not over-thrilled with the questlines there. Greenshade.... well, I haven't done many of the quests there so not sure yet. Malabal is just a total pita to get around. Love Reaper's March, but not the quests.

Elsweyr - love it totally. The khajiit and the redguards are "my people" - so I wind up basking in the desert sun (though I hate deserts IRL).

Disliked Elsweyr, 1st the colours, all gray and yellow and bland, also a lot of hills requires a lot of navigating around. Also gray half ruined stone structures. So much dark yellow and Gray.

    Like - Summerset

Beautiful zone. Like taking my time riding through it.

    Like - Alik'r

    Like the desert environment.

    Dislike - Northern Elsweyr

Huge zone with a dearth of wayshrines.

    Dislike - Shadowfen, Malbal Tor

Don't mind the swamp, but too many obstacles to get around. Makes going through them a pain.

Y'know.... I've always loved the view of Elden Root. There's just something about a tree so huge that you can't see all of it....

And that only got better when I saw the dragon flying around it.

    Magickal. Seriously.

    Dislike:

Any zone with dumb cliffs where your objective is 100 feet away, but you have to travel 2 miles to get there. Malabal Tor and Wrothgar being the worst offenders. Wasting time for the sake of wasting time is annoying.

Any zone with swarming bugs that keep coming and coming... annoying 1hp pests that serve no purpose other than to keep you from being on your way. Swarming mechanical spiders, too.

Any zone that has mechanics that prevent the solo player from advancing, even though they are strong enough and skilled enough to fight whatever lies beyond. Artificial road blocks are cheesy and lazy design. Why punish players who actually work hard to learn to play your game well?

    Likes:

The manicured and idyllic gardens of Auridon, the architecture of Summerset, and the desert of Alik'r. Enjoyable and beautiful scenery.

The Ayleid Nexus area of Murkmire. I love how you can instantly port from place to place there, and the portal area is the coolest and most beautiful place in the game for me. I wish they would make an Ayleid themed player house in that space, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

The caverns of Zainsipilu. When Morrowind came out, it was easily the most awe inspiring area for me. Still holds a special place in my heart.

I'm still pretty new, so I haven't played around much yet. Still, I have a few I like.

My favorite zone is actually Bleakrock. I'm really into the Nordic architecture and style, and it was such a nice gorgeous area with the aurora in the night sky. Still really bummed about what happened to it. I still like to go back there if I need to farm. I liked Betnikh too on principle since I main an Orc. I bet I'll also love Eastmarch and Wrothgar for the same reasons - it's taking all of my willpower not to buy Forgemaster falls, and I'm probably gonna lose that fight soon.

Dislike: I'm not too much a fan of the wide open desert-y areas like Alik'r and Reaper's March. They bore me a bit. Especially since Reaper's March is a bit hard to get around too.

The worst are the swamps with no variation. Shadowfen was terrible, but at least it had the river and Alten Corimont to break up the monotony. Dungmire is the worst place I've ever seen in any game, including the starting swamp level of Daikatana. It doesn't help that I loathe the croaky voices and ignorance of the hist-parasite lizards.

Not a giant fan of ice and snow zones, but so far they've all been only half the zone (except for little Bleakrock) you can go somewhere nice instead.

Most of the original zones lack dailies or any reason to return; the prequel dailies have at least given them some purpose again.

Summerset and Artaeum are the best zones in Tamriel. It's lovely, and has interesting bosses and mobs, good fishing, dailies that aren't too annoying.

Clockwork City's pretty great, for such a tiny zone it's packed with stuff to do, and I love Clockwork and Dwemer architecture.

Hew's Bane has a great city for sneaking around, doing parkour, and stealing, with too small a wilderness and bug-infested, but I still like it.

Elsweyr would be fantastic if getting around, especially to the dragon areas, was a little easier. As it is, the only dragon anyone fights is the NE one because the other two are unreachable; even if you see a dragon fight has started, you can't get there before it's done. There isn't much to do in the south area, and the dailies aren't great.

Southern Elsweyr is better designed in every way, the dragon areas are both easily reachable, except that it's a quarter of the size. And the monk boss is the worst fight in the game.
Kitty Rainbow Dash. pick, pick, stab.

I dislike the AD zones because the scenery is basically the same. "Hope you like looking at trees."

I despise Shadowfen because you can't go 5 feet off road without being dismounted.

I love Rivenspire because it's spoopy.

I dislike any region where you can not basically go from A to B in a straight line without bumping into a mountain and have to figure out a way around that mountain. Yes topology is cool and realistic and everything, but in a game, it's just a waste of time.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Base game zone I love Rivenspire for its amazing gothic atmosphere and fantastic storyline. Its a base game zone that holds up still to the more detailed post launch zones. Also love the plots of Malabal Tor and Shadowfen

Base game zones I dislike would be Deshaan and I'm iffy on Reapers March. I like how Deshaan starts off with the plague, but boy do I lose interest after that. I appreciate Vox as sympathetic villain but most of the plot is meh to me. Reapers March I enjoy the aethetic of, but 90% of the quests are either tedious or boring to me. It does have a fantastic ending segment however.

My favourite post launch zone would be Wrothgar, followed by Summerset. I may be biased a bit because Orsimer and Altmer are my two favorite TES races, but these zones are beautiful to me. Take Wrothgar, beautifully crafted landscape filled with Orsimer lore. Old Orsinium was a favorite public dungeon of mine. And the quests were some of the best. I love how one even incorporates your character if they are a male orsimer and allows you to win leadership of a clan. The main questline is my favorite of the game. King Kurog was a fantastic character.

Summerset to me was just breathtaking to look at. Both the flora and fauna were stunning. It also served as the zone concluding the elic daedric war metaplotline, which I preferred over Year of the Dragon metaplotline.

Least favorite post launch zone would probably be Gold Coast. Less about the zone itself but more about its plotline. I'm not a Dark Brotherhood kinda guy at all. Very few characters I create would realistically consider joining it. So most characters I create just do a few side quests in the zone, then move on. I wish there was a "destroy the dark brotherhood" option for the zone.

I guess I'm just a Dunmer at heart because my favorite zones are Stonefalls, Deshaan, and Vvardenfell. I love the lava and mushrooms! Stonefalls has one of my favorite storylines.

My least favorites are Murkmire and Shadowfen because yucky swamps and ankle biters. Alik'r comes in third because I hate sand in my boots.

Aesthetic wise my fav is definitely Gold Coast, followed by Hew's Bane, Alik'r and Southern Elsweyr. In NE and Vvardenfell I like the delves and public dungeons, and maybe some of the specific parts of the overland map. Can't really think of any quests memorable enough to make a zone pop for me. :(

I like Eastmarch, for it's quiet feeling and looks. And as long as it's a game I like the snow which is why I like Wrothgar as well. Hew's bane is nice.

Not a fan of Grahtwood or Murkmire.

That's because Craglorn was originally split into two parts, released separately. When only lower Craglorn was available, you weren't supposed to find easy routes into upper Craglorn. That having been said, I never found it that difficult to navigate. Might be because I was learning the zone when getting off the main road meant you died if you were on your own, so I'm still not used to trying to go for shortcuts there.

I detest anything swampy. There's just no worse combination than 1) hot 2) damp 3) smelly 4) buggy. I'm a little psycho about it. I can't even watch The Waterboy, no joke.

What I like - go figure...the polar opposite, no pun intended. Skyrim and Wrothgar. It's not very damp where it's cold, and it kills all the bugs (YAY DIE!). Swamps smell the way they do from literally the farts of the bacteria that fester there, and those go out the window right along with the bugs. Plus mountains and snow are cooler looking than non-mountains and no snow. That's just a law of nature.

Oh and I'm not a fan of Clockwork. It's subjective of course, but I'm of the opinion that that much mechanical crap has no place in a fantasy setting. All the craftable furnishings are hideous looking. That weird brown-ish orange that's somewhere between rust and those oldey-time, uncolored bars of soap. It sucks because there are a lot of items that would be great in your house if they were any other color.

Wrothgar <3 And CWC <3 Rivenspire, Alikr and Vardenfell i also really enjoyed. Murkmire would be amazing too if they fixed that place, in its current state its just too frustrating and an obvious test zone. I havent done gold yet and missing 3 dlc's, but im looking forward to the Elsweyr zones too!

Favorate: Murkmire - This one surprised me as i did the entire area during the event, i have always hated the Argonians in other Es games and that hatred came with me into eso, but when i did murkmire this year i gained a new appreshation for the race, so much that i made my very first argonian in a Es game ever due to it and no other zone has done that.

Least: Valenwood - Like many have said about it already it so annoying to navigate around ironaclly more annoying than Murkmire a place which is supposed to be difficult and have few roads.

There is no region which I would dislike - they are all a work of art, which i appreciate and enjoy. I'm not that much a fan of artificially altered nature - like elves tend to manipulate nature to look pristine - I like as well the swampy regions in ESO, the whole atmosphere there and the sound design and so is just awesome. Or the tropical rain forests, wonderful. The arid regions, wastelands of sand and rocks Even Vvardenfell with it's volcanic nature and awesome fauna and flora and their xenophobic inhabitants - i often have to smile about their attitude. Ah, and of course Hew's Bane, it is more natural than one would expect, i saw rock formations like this in the australian outback.

Murkmire has stuff that Shadowfen is missing, as an environment. It has the feel of a swamp, not just a tree-filled wetlands, and is interesting to travel through. Lilmoth is probably one of the most interesting towns in Tamriel. I just wish the zone was not postage stamp sized.
