Third Tier Morphs

Will these ever be a thing? Seems like they would make more sense than the current champion point system.

Additional specialization of skills is always fun.

    I've thought about that before.
    call them mutations or something.
would bring another layer to the game if it they needed to spice thing up for more subscriptions

Right now the arena weapon sets are probably the only "third tier morphs" we're gonna get.

But making champion points even more specific could be a good idea. Investing points into additional damage to your favorite skills could open up new playstyle avenues that are otherwise just not viable.
Would most likely be a mess to balance though...

It would add 4 more morphs to every skill, and only one of them would be bis, so it wouldn't really change much

While this would make things a little more interesting I agree with @BRCOURTN that there is only one BIS and only one morph will be used. Some skills may get more utility out of it, it would be nice to have more options of doing things like interrupts other than just crushing shock. But at the end of the day I see more problems arising from this than it's worth.

I mean yeah one morph would be BiS for stam tanks. Another for mag dps. Another for bow healers.
But I highly doubt that there would be a morph that all specs and roles and etc would have to take. Cant think or many abilities that exist now that would fit best morph and all other versions are gimping yourself.

Too many morphs can be paralyzing to the player and difficult to balance. Additional customization options lead to more opportunities for ONE combination of choices to be overpowered, which makes everything else seem bad in comparison
But I agree that there are skills where that would be nice.

No 3rd tier morphs please. a 3rd morph for each skill though would be amazing.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

Unless ZOS has mentioned doing it, I doubt that it'll ever be "a thing".

I doubt it will happen they still haven't figured out how they want to balance the existing morphs. From memory they have changed orbs/healing springs/at least 3 shield and board skills/DK wings, DK stonefist etc... if they haven't balanced the existing skills by now I doubt they would add another layer of skills they would need to balance on top of figuring what direction they want to take the necromancer class.

Morphs are already a massive pita for many players who want their characters to be able to perform a range of roles. Or in. both PvE and PvP.

There’s usually one morph that works for PvE and one for PvP.... or one that heals vs one that interrupts... or one that’s right for solo play vs one that’s about group play etc

Changing these on a regular basis is tedious, boring and stupidly expensive.

Having skills you can’t instantly swap out for free is a staple of the single player game. It really shouldn’t be a roadblock to playing in a multi-player environment.

I've suggested something like this before.

    Probably others also have.
