I was thinking along the lines of something an antivirus would need to take care of. This is just a game. It really shouldn't affect it much. And if it does, it is just a game.

They can all telecommute no one actually has to be in the office. That's why God made enterprise development software.

I'm going to live in Tamriel until this crap blows over.

i mean i think the full impact hasnt hit the US yet...but brace yourself...europe is basically being shut down...

and yes i know its just a game and not essential but

    a) some people are planning to take off days around chapter launches and the such so if something got postponned i'd be nice to know in advance and

    b) a lot of people might suddenly have a lot more time and cant really leave the house because everything is shut down (or shouldnt because they are a risk group) so being able to be online still would be nice

ps: it is fully expected that 60%+ of the population will be infected with the virus, no one tries to "stop" it, just to slow it down so hospitals can handle severe cases one after the other without being overwhelmed.

its a shame its not already 50 years in the future where we could probably do exactly that in virtual reality

Considering Zos does not deal directly with the public they have no real reason to address us concerning the virus. They would have handled that internally.

Edit: Much of the work required to keep the game running can be done remotely.

    1. it is not fully expected, it is just people tossing out numbers that just scare people and make the issue worse. no one really knows.
    2. again, all work can be done at home, they never need to be in physical contact so there is no need to delay something.
    3. why the would people use precious vacation days for a release of a chapter. Save it for something important.

are game developers really working that remote? because i often find that for a lot of companies - even technological ones - remote work seems often more fiction than fact

The plauge spreads across the world, soon all will be blessed by mighty Peryite!
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

they don't normally, but in cases like this they can without any real impact other than someone not stealing their lunch in the fridge. Like many people are doing. I can do 100% of my job at home, so can 80% of my office.

This. Face to face meeting is always most productive but the entire process can be handled remotely.

Physical contact with the equipment if rare. Even then the main servers are likely maintained by contractors at the server farms. They do not need to be in physical contact with anyone else.

Given the state of communication with ZOS about how well ESO works (or doesn't work) on a daily basis, are you really expecting them to be proactive about telling the playerbase how the coronavirus is going to affect their day-to-day operations?

    Um, you are rather optimistic.

Personally, I just expect everything that ZOS was working on to take longer to produce, given that just because a lot of tech things can be done remotely doesn't necessarily mean that those things can be done as well or as quickly as they could be done on site.

as long as you have a bit of self control, it is amazing how much work you can get done at work. In two days, i can usually get a weeks worth of work down.

Something happened today that I'm very upset about.

The owner of the company I work for has been sick with flu like symptoms and we all know his wife travels to different countries. Well he was sick one day and decided to show up yesterday, and then today he came to work again. He coughed about 3 feet away from me without covering his mouth. WTF!

People please don't go to work if you are sick, wash your hands and cover your mouth when coughing!

I have a 34in ultra wide with a Xbox one x in a circle with my other monitors. I have to have YouTube or twitch droning a lot of the time or go nuts.

I have a computer in there as well but I don’t touch it. At 51 years old the hack and cheats aren’t worth the addons so I learn to use a controller. Sort of.

I find that games like ESO look beautiful on the X with less or no shenanigans. Plus I can hump the goats head shrine event every 10 minutes without breaking stride.

It is sad how irresponsible media can be at stoking fears and not giving more sound, accurate advice.

Right now you got people raiding grocery stores with many hour lines - crowded. (not smart)

for what? There is absolutely ZERO reason to do this and this is because of the media. And the more the media covers it the more people go nuts.

So now, you probably have a bunch of selfish people that have loaded up with months worth of food, and other people will end up hungry because shelves are empty.

People shouldn't listen to everything the media spews, find the common sense path.

Yes this virus is to be taken seriously, but what is happening now is people are making things so much worse because of fear, selfishness and hysteria.

What they are trying to do now in the world is cut the head off the snake at quickly as possible so this doesn't go on for months and months. I wish they would do a better job and explaining it because instead they made it feel like the end of days.

enjoy the game, enjoy nature and enjoy your family

And if, a big if the chapter is delayed. on a scale of 1 to 10 on how important that is - its a 1. Much worse things to worry about, so my suggestion is, just don't worry about it.
