Nightblades have had enough.

I think most dedicated pvp nightblades and even some pve nightblades will agree that enough is enough. These past 2 years have been nothing but garbage nerfs that were unwarranted on a class that is played by many as a solo class. I don’t know about you but when I created a nightblade after looking at its skills I didn’t imagine myself running around in heavy armor swinging a 2 handed weapon and a shield. ( maybe some of you did but I bet most nightblades didn’t) I bet when most people first rolled their nightblade they pictured themselves running around in light or medium armor wielding daggers and a bow or swords and staffs. But we have been pushed and pushed into a corner that we don’t like. It doesn’t even fit the power fantasy (as the devs call it) when you read the class description.

You have listened to the whines of players who refuse to learn how to get better at the game. Any time a player gets “ganked” by a nightblade they scream overpowered! You need to nerf them. And every time zenimax has responded with nerf after nerf. You promised class balance and yet nightblades are weaker than every other class. Our class skills don’t even benefit from the heavy armor meta on an equal playing field as the other classes.

Now even some of the most prominent streamers and build creators for the class are giving up. I’m on the verge myself. And Iv been playing this game for going on 8000 hours. Iv always told myself have patience zenimax will eventually hear us out and give us some buffs but instead it’s as if they have just been seeing what’s hurting us looking for more ways to beat this class into the ground. It’s no longer fun to play a nightblade. The forums are flooded with people bashing nightblades and cheering that they we are being nerfed. I have lost faith in my class Represenitive and I have lost faith in zenimax.

Many promises have been made and many of them have failed to be delivered. I must confess that if this next chapter doesn’t restore nightblades to a competitive state then I shall have no choice but to quit this game. Iv spent over the past 5-6 years at least 10,000 dollars since the birth of this game and I guess I shall have to find a new game to finance.

Don’t let me down zenimax. I don’t want to quit this game but your rapidly leaving me no choice. I have no interest in playing other classes Iv played a rogue in every mmo Iv ever played it’s just who I am. And so far every other mmo Iv played has better rogues than ESO.

My poor original character a fun Khajiit Nightblade has been reduced to a crafter cause she's just not fun to play anymore with all the nerfs. I'd love to see them restored.

They're down right now, for sure ; but where they were 2 years ago it was obvious something needed to change. They went too far. And I think they tried to make them more of a brawler so they could do better in battlegrounds and didn't land that right. Just left them in limbo since.

I have a NB that I mainly played in Cryodiil since the beginning. But after 4+ years of nerfs, I switched to playing a MagTempler healer for the last few months. At least I can be useful in my PvP group that way.

Most NB's will agree with you, heck some even begun to make a thread about our list of issues, which still needs abit more indepth if you ask me.

In regards to prominent streamers the only one that comes to my mind is @FENGRUSH who recently only said these things about the class in it's current state and since they also make YT videos too. I can see him shining a light to the masses about the state of the current NB:

But in all honesty i'm just expecting more nerfs, since that's what my cloak and dagger playstyle has been getting for years.

Nightblade needs help yall, what they don't need is more dmg or skills based around stealth, they need builds that are not for solo play, nightblade needs AOE and defensive abilities that are not viable for ganking builds so we don't end up with OPness.

Part of that process will involve some of you guys speccing for brawler and support builds though, part of the reality is from what I see at least in BG the majority of nightblades are trying to play like it's open world and they fail to recognize when they are outclassed by skill, the game cannot be adjusted to that playstyle or mentality of being the Lord of PVP because you can insta shrek afk players. On the other hand I also see truly good players with teamplay skills struggling hardcore because the class simply falls short in the current meta, also it's very hard to a skill based class to survive in a game where the skills don't work half the time because of lag or bunk patches. There needs to be some way of resolving this, which will involve other classes getting the axe, namely sorcs and sorcs BRING BACK SCISSORS paper is running loose

Agreed, and i I posted something similar about the nerfs to almost every skill a while ago.

Cyro has just become heavy armor ball groups running around with the same build, its really boring now.

My nightblade is master crafter, gatherer and a pickpocket. That's about it. I ran through and did the chapters and stuff, but won't step foot in cyrodiil or dungeons or any other end game activities. I even hate killing world bosses with my nb now.

As much as you say you don’t want to play another class, you really should.

Rogues are always the best theorycrafters in any game and min-max like crazy. ZoS probably has metrics they go by to track performance, I don’t think they’ll really believe it’s the class and not the players until you try some other classes and go around destroying everyone.

NB is a horror to balance, because it's almost bound to engage first. It could use some buffs. Just don't put back the old go invisibility, and immune to everything style unless you specifically build against it.

True that. I have a magdk and magden to finish grinding out. Think I will start working on one of them before greymore launches. I used to run most stuff on my sorc, but even that just feels off anymore. I was away for awhile since murkwood and just came back about six weeks ago. A lot has changed since then.

tbh i dont see any problem in NB class in pvp, the only thing that need buff is "Aspect of Terror" which is feel not that special

If they buffed the base stealth mechanics nb would be pretty decent but they refuse to so they need to buff our core skills to hit much harder. And for the love of god remove the bloody cast times

Running around in medium armor , speed and cloak is about all a NB has. The tears were big has horse turds over cloak and snipe..yet it is ok for wardens to be unkillable tanks and Templars to Jab..jab..jab. Give be a break. NB is a dead class as of now.

I hate to break it to you but we are hardly op. My nb has 5700 weapon damage and 17k penetration 30k stam and 60% crit and yet all of that is meaningless compared to the heavy armor 30k+ health meta. And yet these heavy armor players are zipping around with damn near the same weapon damage and if you wear light or medium armor you get slapped. On top of that blocking with sword and board gives them damn near 100% damage mitigation so while your attacking them draining all your resources they block it all until your drained and defenseless.(all the while being super defensive themselves.

My thoughts exactly...

But there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
Next Chapter is about vampires, right ? They do not intend to sell new class. Necromancer will go to crown store and Elsweyr will become DLC. So new players buying regular Graymoor chapter - will have access to NB, but not Necro.

And what classes synergise well with Vampire ?
Nightbalde bloodmage (which new players will have access to) and Necromancer (that they will have to buy separately, and it will be a bad PR for ZOS).

TES games have since Daggerfall, the background of bandits / pirates / assassins / thief... And when you decide to play a new TES game you just want to make another assassin or a mage in more than 50% of cases.

Nightblade is THE assassin class. Dont get me wrong, you can do a assassin with a dk, or a thief with a sorc, but guys, we all know that nightblades are the dark shadow.

Once that said, when Zenimax decides to destroy the class, they're hurting a big part of the TES community .

NB feels forgotten atm, all it has is sustain and mobility. Overnerfed and now it sits at the bottom.

As long as bad nightblades cry anytime changing cloak is mentioned, nightblade will be what it is.

Having the ability to repeatedly disappear at will has no place in pvp, and as long as you can do that, there will be no buffs.

Nightblade is weak compared to the meta specs, but the difference isnt nearly as bad as most say. If you actually L2P and don't crutch on stealth you'll be better and have more fun.

I see what you mean in the sense that cloak itself has to be balanced somehow and it’s hard to quantify, but the mentality that every class has to play the same way is what made combat bland in the first place.

Without abilities like blastbones, cloak, streak, ritual/sweeps, etc... every class would be exactly the same.
