Because it literally is. The cloak doesnt have its own independent mesh.

The most lethal and unsuspecting assassins are not what people think they are.

I'll choose the fat old grandpa Orc in a ratted and weathered wedding dress to assassinate the target then some haughty clean cut pretty face. While at it, also remake flappers on nord hero so they don't flap so hard. And reduce boobs on elven hero, because even with medium sized, they look atrociously huge and ruining otherwise great costume.
Tbh, it is shame that this 3 "iconic" costumes all can look decent in static but when you move... oh, this is hell.

What I think is that, in the original game capes/cloaks were going to be added. Due to performance issues this was left out. I think the Breton hero costume was designed to be good with a cape/cloak and due to that the current design got rekt.

It only looks good on very tiny female chars (wood elf).

I made each of the 3 Archetype characters from the Cinematic trailers and had to specifically shape the Breton Hero character to fit the costume so he didn't look anatomically disproportionate but unfortunately looks very scrawny out of that particular costume. lol

this costume is a scam ... thats all i tested on my characters... every... it sux and cape... has no physics... and dont even try on argonian or khajit

On topic though... I didn't buy this costume because of the way it looks while crouched.

Sometimes heroes fall on hard times and gain a bit of chonk. It’s a transitional period I’m sure it’ll pass.

There's a difference between "fat" and the bulk clothing adds to a body- any body, no matter how lean or muscular. Your character has a considerable amount of muscle. He is not going to look svelte under several layers of leather and cloth. In fact, no one is, really, unless they're emaciated. The idea that they would is an unrealistic ideal that doesn't really take into account what clothing actually does on a body.

I don't see the Breton Hero costume as looking as though it has "fat", though I -will- concede that with any costume in ESO, male characters who have been given larger chests do suffer a bit from the way the meshes morph over their frame. Although it doesn't look fat to me, it doesn't look quite right either. The chest becomes too rounded. I have noticed it in several other costumes as well and have had to alter characters to make them thinner than they otherwise would be sans clothing to compensate for the bulk so that they look right in the costumes.

This problem doesn't exist as much when it comes to motifs. I have the feeling its because each piece is adjusting itself separately rather than the overall mesh morph you have with a costume that is all one item.

When this costume was first released years ago we the community brought up the Batman belt and cape glued to the back issues. Nothing changed sadly.

not being funny, but I see nothing wrong with it. I think some people are just far too picky for their own good.

Haha, when people are riding with it on it looks like they are wearing extra thick diapers under cape which is glued to you.

Would like a rework of costume design as well. Outer cape/robe excessively too large. Looks ridiculous. Instantly removed from character and stashed in knapsack for campfire fodder. 😃

It's a hero costume, but it never tells you what he is a hero for. It's obvious when you buy it, hes a hero of Pie eating, possibly cakes too. :-)

The costumes look different on each race and body size, we don't need a thread for each shoulder style that floats a mile above the wearer either, or the "Hakoshae Festival" literal spare tyre ridge you get on a large Khajiit
