There are other costumes that have a similar "fattening" effect. Not only costumes but armor styles also tend to fatten your character. I don't love it either as I try to choose slimming looks usually. Because of their struggle managing capes, they essentially "pinned it" to the character which also adds to this fattening effect on this costume.

I think you can get a refund by asking in the ticket. Say that it alters the body proportions of your character and you would like to cancel a purchase. Nothing cost to try.

You're wearing leathers. All that material adds girth. Were you expecting spandex?

You should see the mega-thread about this issue when that costume was released! This current version is the "better" version lol.

not being funny, but I see nothing wrong with it. I think some people are just far too picky for their own good.

I agree… a little/a lot less broad and maybe make the hood kind of flow/crinkle naturally like the version they compare it to. I've always regretted buying this costume...

I personaly enjoy this costume and I like it that it has this thickness. feels like my character is wearing actual protective padding. much better then some of the "armors" that look like superhero spandex :/
    dirty worthless casual.

It's only the style with the cloak, pouch belt and chest armour that makes you look fat in it. If you look at clothes behind those things you see it doesn't change your body at all or very minimal. It's like clothes in real life, some of them makes you look fat while others are more flattering.

There are worse costumes and outfit styles that actually do change the body of your character :#

So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

No. It also looks fat when previewed, at least on a female character.

This is the same character in an outfit station approximation of the costume:

The costume is very pear-shaped compared to her normal silhouette.

Zos probably won’t ever rework the costume :/. So like many others, I just use the outfit station to recreate the look with various styles/dyes following a model I found on reddit.

Here’s the link to the thread, the styles/dyes are included in a response from the OP. https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/7u11cv/pts_i_fixed_the_games_laziest_costume_using_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Can try to get a refund and use in game currency to purchase the motifs if you enjoy the model :)

The styles are largely the same as those in the reddit post linked earlier, though I used a different helm, I believe.

My notes on the styles and dye placement (in case I ever have to recreate it) are:

    :: "Breton Hero" outfit ::

    Dark Brotherhood Helm (heavy)
    Evermore Gold
    Ransacker Blue
    Obsidian Black

    Assassins League Cuirass (heavy)
    Evermore Gold
    Ransacker Blue
    Obsidian Black

    Ancient Orc Pauldons (heavy)
    Evermore Gold
    Evermore Gold
    [empty]

    Celesial Gauntlets (heavy)
    Evermore Gold
    Obsidian Black
    Ransacker Blue

    Dark Brotherhood Belt (medium)
    [empty]
    Starlight Gold
    Evermore Gold

    Celesial Breeches (light)
    Obsidian Black
    Evermore Gold
    Ransacker Blue

    Assassins League Boots (medium)
    Obsidian Black
    Evermore Gold
    Ransacker Blue

Ignore the goggles; they are from a costume. *facepalm*

I’m still hoping they release an outfit based on his Elsweyr trailer appearance. It has a significant enough change in design to warrant it, and it gives them the opportunity to correct the problems with this current outfit.

    How is this fat? ...

It is obvious that the belt makes that bulk

Also your character is not thin, bulky, as befitting a warrior... Add the extra bump from the belt this happens
