Devs. I insist you try Cyrodiil in prime time

The game in its current state actually is NOT playable. No skills other than hots and at best light attacks works. This is on PC, not console. I dont think you developers are aware of this. I comfort myself telling me that, at least, because if you WERE aware of the terrible performance, you would step up and DO something about it. So, I insist the team log on at prime time cyrodiil, and play it yourself for an hour or two. Then maybe that will be an eye opener.

sadly, they do know...they just can't do anything about it...

not sure if that's better or worse than simply being unaware of the situation...

I dont think they really know to be honest. I think they get some feedback from these boards, they notice if a lot of players disconnect. But no, I dont think theyve actually played cyrodiil during prime time for years. Else it wouldnt have come to this.

    Excellent idea!

And whoever is found guilty to have implemented a new "feature" and/or has missed named "feature" in a QA test will be convicted to play another hour during prime time!

Really, isn't it time to post something to let us know what's going on, @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ?
It would be best if you could get someone to post something on the launcher, even. It is THAT BAD.

I only tag you all because I NEVER come to the forums! Look at my post count vs. game account age.
I've played for years and put up with a lot. But this is really frustrating. Trying my absolute best in these forums to be civil.

This is an issue that needs immediate attention: not waiting for a patch next Monday. I am willing to bet you will lose another 10% - 15% of customers if you wait even a couple of days to address this lag.

The devs play their own game all the time. They play PvE and PvP all the time and on multiple platforms. It's their personal time, don't harass them about it. They get infinitely more info at the office about how bad performance is as opposed to their own play time.

I dont believe you. I want to see at least one of them stream cyrodiil prime time, so we know they do it. Its the least they can do. Show us they have experienced it firsthand. Is there really anyone who doesnt agree?

Why wouldnt I harass them about it? Its their job. If they were manufacturing any other product theyd be testing it all the time in real environment, not in small shards. I dont see why that is such a horribly big quiestion to ask

lol prove it, show me one clip of an eso dev in cyrodil. I'm 99% sure you wont find it. Or better yet, find a clip, or even a mention in a comment or something, of a zos team member playing this game on console in cyrodil. It doesnt exist.

Rich used to stream, always played PvP. Wheeler used to stream, don't think he played much but he did do DJ streams. Once *** found out and starting harassing them. The devs can spend their off work time as they see fit. They aren't required to jump through hoops.

Meanwhile, no The last years I highly doubt any of them have been to cyrodiil prime time. And, if the opposite is true, like you insist, I would like to see it, and get a comment on it.

It would be a sign of good faith to have ZOS do one of their live stream play sessions during prime time in a capped campaign across all platforms and in both EU and U.S servers. Head to big battles and have their fps and ping on their screens. if nothing else it would end the numerous posts about ZOS playing their own game at difficult times.

I know Gilliam used to play cyrodiil a lot. hes a very competent pvp'er. But, cyrodiil has changed dramatically performance wide the last year. I would like him to play right now, with the current preformance. Thats something else than when he used to play. No I dont think he has put his feet in cyrodiil the last 6 months.

I don't think the same people that are putting out the patches and fixes now had/have anything to do with the game designers, and therefore, fixing these issues is, very likely, beyond the abilities of the current coders at ZOS.

Hence, we should all probably be demanding a complete rebuild of the game from the ground up. At least then the people writing the patches would have some experience with the base code.

I'm pretty sure none of the team that actually built the game are working on the patching and bug fixes. There certainly isn't any evidence they are the same crew.....pretty sure the crew on now gets paid substantially less than the original devs....if you get my meaning.

I don't think it's about the abilities of the people they hire. I think it's more about the tech they used to build the game originally. I think the engine they built tune game on and infrastructure of servers where "ok" 8-9 years ago when they started. But at this point it seems like the tech is a major hindrance to stability and adding increasingly desirable things like cross save and cross play pure something like an account transfer.

    Not really.
The original design for Imperial City required players to ride through Cyrodiil to get to the sewer gates. The separate IC campaigns is a relatively recent change encouraged in part by Cyrodiil players tired of having some of the capped population in a different zone.

It was a great concept, no one wanted to participate in it. Craglorn was a great concept, no one wanted to participate. Murkmire was going to be another adventure zone. Iunno, maybe the community is the problem?

I think the problem is a huge combination of many things. Most places hire a ton of devs in the beginning to get it going but then scale back cause once a game is built, you don't need so many. There's been a lot of back and forth changes, substantial changes to how things worked at the beginning (one tamriel for instance), additional classes and abilities, lots of things that operate off of "stacks" now, ect, ect, ect... A code base can become seriously messy with so many different people and so many changes. Then you have to consider all of the crap and changes they had to make to counter cheating, which if I had to guess is probably a big reason why they struggle to fix cyrodil in particular.

yes the devs play the game, on a closed off internal server that 3 people are connected to and has no issues with lag because of this its why they are so clueless as to server performance. back in the azuras days a zos dev tryed to say on the forums they couldnt replicate the dozens of bugs caused by serious lag on internal servers with lag switches basically, they never bothered to actually logon the live servers and understand what was going on they go straight to internal testing assume were just complaining and move on

One of the loading screens tells us about the Z-players. Apparently they are employees of the company.

Have anyone ever noticed them on the Eu server? I haven’t. Didn’t notice them before the servers were split either, but that could be due to the time difference. On Eu I’m often on in prime time- still haven’t seen one
