• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Will the game be down all day on the 24th? If i have 300 mb down, how long might the reinstall take?

I have a lot of extra vacation days i need to burn, wondering if the monday the dlc comes out if the game will be playable or if maintenance/redownloading the game would take up the whole day anyway

Never take off for a big download/patch/game launch/etc day. You'll just be disappointed.

These speeds are abnormally high for me. It typically ranges from 2-6 Mb/s.

Make sure you start it right after the maintenance is done. You have to re-download essentially the game which is over 100 GB at this point.

Take the day after release off. Work on patch day, less frustrating

Have your Launcher running from early in the morning on Patch Day and set your PC so it does not sleep.

Now, just in case they start releasing the download early, you might get the launcher running the night before. I have no idea if they will start the download early.

Note, i did not have the PTS installed, so the following may not be fully accurate.

While the install will be smaller, you may have have 80 or so GB of extra space for them to land the game on during the patch. So, if you have to, make a back up of your addons, and delete your local game files.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    THIS.

I learned this lesson in 1999 playing Everquest and never plan to be able to play a game the day of a new content release. If I have the day off, I plan a long bike ride or some other outdoor activity. The best day to play new content is Day 3. Day 2 is risky but sometimes works. Day 1 is a great day to be at work.

Actually wait, will we have to delete the whole game and reinstall or do we just open the launcher and it takes care of all that for us?

I wonder if yours was measured in Megabytes, and mine Megabits, cause dat disparity is something else. However I have noticed even with both using an Ethernet cable, my Console (on which I play the game) usually downloads at 150mbps up to 300mbps. Certainly never 950mb.

The only reason you would have to delete the game first is if you don’t have enough room to download the new install files alongside the old. Otherwise the launcher automatically takes care of overwriting or deleting old files for you.

If you play on PS it and are wired the issue is the port does not let the PS go faster. I found the WiFi to be faster on my PS than the wired port.

Leave the launcher up when you log off and go to work.

It should update while you're away.

According to the screenshots both of you was measured in Megabits. I'm Hungarian; 16 Mb/s was slow here 15 years ago...

I have fibre broadband and had to re- download whole game last week. Took 5 hours. I expect Monday will take much longer because there will be thousands of people downloading it

You have to re-download essentially the game which is over 100 GB at this point.

The updated game file will not be that large. That's one of the major points of this update.

This. I tend to leave my PC with the launcher open for when I am expecting an update and have the PC set up so it never turns off on it's own. Good idea to basically leave it on early for this update.

If you have 300Mb down the entire time it will be half an hour to download the new game file. You likely won't have that, especially with the crunch hitting ZOS's servers from most of the active player base that day. For those who can, I recommend starting the launcher in the morning and let it patch while you're away to work or school.
