Which Gaming Mouse Would You Choose for ESO

Any mouse with 12 buttons on the side. The one most comfortable for you. I prefer the Razer Naga Trinity which comes with 3 side plates, including the one with 3 buttons on the side. Again, what is confortable.

I also suggest a wired most for two reasons. First, if you live in a populated area you can get interference. It can happen any place but more common I dense areas. I used to use wireless devices and found that every once in awhile a skill would not fire on the first press. Ditched the wireless mouse and keyboard and never had an issue since. But this is a personal choice.

When I first started using a mouse with 12 buttons on the side I started with only 3 buttons. After getting used to that I added another row of 3 until I was using all 12. For ESO I have my skils, bar swap, potions, ultimate and more keybound to the mouse buttons.

    Good luck.

Too many buttons for my taste, im using Logitech G Pro.

    Get a generic modern mouse.

Use the scroll button as the extra button.
You can assign many things to that single button (press, scroll up, scroll down, Ctrl+scroll up etc)
I have roll dodge on scroll down, and a skill(heal/shield) at scroll up. Roll dodging and poping heal/shield within a second feels awesome.

Remember to not put too many skills on mouse or you will wreck your wrists.Share burden with keyboard hand.
    Reset Keyboard binds.

I think for ESO it's super personal. Some people feel the need for the 12 button MMO mice for ESO, but for me i find it largely unnecessary. ESO doesnt have enough combat binds to bind that much stuff to your mouse (i needed one for WoW tho because of targeting & focus macros) - i do everything off of my keyboard except light attacking (left click) and block (right click). I just use a Logitech G Pro myself; it has 2 extra side buttons which i use for discord mute and deafen. But, if you want to be able to bind stuff to your mouse and use your thumb to hit some buttons, i used a Corsair Scimitar for a long time and absolutely loved it. Really well built mouse.

Personally I didn't get on with the traditional 12 button rodents that many suggest... I have big ish hands and the buttons are too fiddly.

    Roccat Nyth!!!

You can customise the button layout how you want... I have 6 large ones which is perfect for ESO.

You also have a choice of sidepods to make the mouse bigger or smaller depending on size of your hands

Yea I bought a gaming mouse with 9 buttons on the side, but anytime I try to use them I hit the wrong ones because they are so small lol. I stopped using them shortly after I bought it a year ago. You don't really need a gaming mouse. Especially for ESO as you can only use a few abilities anyways. Just get a nice wireless one, and a mechanical keyboard.

has an older razer naga with 12 side buttons, works well but the side buttons is to close so the so only 6 are real comfortable to use but only need 6 in ESO anyway.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Thanks.

Razer Naga Hex v2. It has technically 11 buttons, but the main ones are 7 on the side of the mouse.

I've tried the logitech mmo mouse and all the buttons started double clicking. Then I tried the trinity razer and realized 12 buttons on the side was just to many, the circle version with y buttons just didn't do it for me.

Finally have the rival 500, 6 buttons on the side. Map abilities there and combat metrics. Bash is mmb scroll up, roll dodge is mmb scroll down.

A bunch ui short cuts on the other buttons.

I also use an azeron now, love the joystick for moving.

None of this has helped me git gud, still suck at la weaving. I hit the la and then hit abilities way to soon which stops la altogether. Not sure why I suck so bad at it, plus can't really see the animations well even with the fancy asus 1440p 27 inch monitor. Fancy equipment doesn't help at all!

12 button nice are comically overkill. Then again MMOs from years ago had upwards of 25 hotkeys while 12 button mice never existed.

Shrug. Call me old fashion but I have never needed a mouse with more than 4 buttons. Especially with ESOs simplified hotbar gameplay.

I have the wired version, I plan on getting the wireless as well, for when I need to go mobile and use my laptop. I like it that much.

Came here to suggest this exact mouse. Trigger button, two top buttons, and even 12 on the side? Plus, the mouse itself has a nice texture.
    PLUS it doesn't feel overpriced.
I've tried many different mice. This UtechSmart Venus is by far my all-time favorite.

I know myself well enough to know I'd get lost fumbling among 12 side keys.

So I tried a Naga Hex with 7 side buttons. I still got lost in the buttons and my thumb joint quickly began to complain.

So I went with aRazer Deathadder that has two buttons on the side. Bingo! That is the sweet spot for me. Effectively, the two extra buttons help clean up my keyboard and seem to work best for me.

As mentioned above, it is a pretty personal choice so while you certainly want input from others, ultimately, your own preferences will dictate what works best.

Same. My version is the cheapest 12-side button mouse I could find and it's not worn out on me once for years.

This info is all great thanks a lot to you all.

One aspect I had not considered was hand size. I did think all mouse controllers were of a similar size.

While my fingers are not exactly pudgy they are for sure not thin so being able to key the right button and not 2 buttons by mistake is another thought I have now from your comments.

And yes, I will need to physically try out gaming mice before buying but with your replies I can make a short list for testing. :)

Using a Logitect g403 atm. I don't think you need more than two extra buttons. I have one for bash and another weapon swap which makes it more fluid, especially bashing. Scroll is for synergy, F is for roll dodge. Perfect combo.

Logitech mice last longer, cost less, and outperform Razor mice.....the difference really is pretty surprising. ...maybe the Razor mice I was getting on eBay were knock offs, but I'm buying Logitech mice from here on out after owning both....and I don't buy Corsair anything.

And for gaming, you ALWAYS want a wired mouse.

I was given a Logitech G500s a few years ago and it's been my first experience with an actual gaming mouse. I only use a few of the side buttons but I love the weights that it came with for adjusting to a personal weight you find comfortable(I guess?). I'm going to cry when this thing gives up the ghost because they don't make this model anymore.

I use a Logitech G600. When I first got it I thought it would be hard to remember where the buttons where and that I'd have a hard time adapting to it, but it was way easier and faster than I thought.

I have very small hands, so I only use the lower 6 buttons. I mapped them so I move my thumb in a clockwise circular motion. 5 buttons are for skills and the 6th is for changing bars.

The G600 has a third button on the top that I use as the X key. Makes using the blade of woe after stealing very fast.

A question for those of you who mentioned using the scroll wheel for actions. What do you use zoom in and out?
The scroll wheel of my mouse can be pushed down and to either side, but I found it hard to control.

I know you're asking about mice, but what do you use for the other hand? Because if it's a standard keyboard, you're much better off replacing that with a gamepad than replacing your mouse.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Exactly. My last mouse was just a regular mouse not gaming and it killed my hand and fingers. Definitely get one that fits. Though I moved on to an Xbox One controller. My old hand and lack of quickness is happy.

A lot of it depends on how you hold your mouse.

I've used a g600 (which is hard to be at under $30) for the last 6-7 years. I have larger hands, the top of my palm tends to rest on the back of the mouse, which puts my thumb right in the middle of the back group of 6 buttons and then fingertips on MB1-2 and wheel. Reaching the front 6 thumb buttons is awkward, so I don't use them, but for ESO 6 is perfect, you have 5 for abilities and 1 for ultimate.

If you have a more forward grip, like a claw, then you can probably utilize all the thumb buttons more effectively.

I personally think the Razer Hex 7 thumb button layout is ideal, but I don't like Razer products or config software.

I'd also avoid wireless mice for gaming, you can get interference, lag and other latency issues as well as having a battery run out at the worst time.

Tab potion. I find this places alot less stress on mouse hand compared to when skills were the 5 buttons.

I only have auto-walk and dodge roll on my extra mouse buttons, synergies mapped to the scroll wheel is also nice btw.
