Best place to live in Tamriel?

I'm also in the Rift. Would prefer a more snowy/forrested area. Waiting to see what Greymoor/Q4 dlc brings for housing and locale

I really wanted Windhelm to work, and I have that Grymhart's Woe, but I just found thing to be way to spread out there. When it comes so scenery, I really love Windhelm. Riften is very convenient in every way I can think of, only lacking Master Writs, and of course there's no Pledges or Battlegrounds. But for everyday errands, it's perfect and best I've found so far.

If we are lucky, the new DLC might come with something that covers it all. :-)

Another vote for Sleek Creek house next to Rawl’Kha.

If you're a DC player and do a lot of writs the Gardner home is a fine place to live. Right next to the writ guy, has a decent size, and a backyard! I love it!

That place is my necromancer hideout! LOL Yes, it's a good place too. A cheap home with great value for sure.

Sleek Creek has always been best for convenience and looks. Though ive moved to Senchal recently.

All of the four Vvardenfell homes are beautiful, my favorites, all of them. But for the best convenience, you should live next to Vivec's bank ;)

Chalk up another for St Delyn's. Leave home, thieve a few bits from the inn, slaughtering that damn Argonian every time, in memory of all the times she caught me thieving and attacked, then through the main area, thieving a bit more, then to the guild to flog off my ill-gotten wares, then out to the crafting area.

If you take crafting into account if you don't say Rimmen you're just wrong lol. You walk out the door and there are the daily writs and all the stations.

this. rimmen is the best city for crafting and riding training overall. (if you've got the banker)

if it as convenient, i'd do my writs in riften since i love the city and old mistveil is my main house. but i find the route too annoying, especially with the drop down to the canal. :/

my toons that still do pledges are parked in mournhold, though i don't like the aesthetics there very much. it's also constantly rainy for me. :(

i would very much love to make wayrest my home but it's just not viable for writs sadly.

vivec is plain ugly and an eyesore to me. can't stand it. super depressing. :s don't understand the people living there. also the apartment is far off.

Deshaan, the combination of Velothi Reverie/Flaming Nix Deluxe Garret is what I like here. Some privacy and peace from the big city life here, free port between both on the same map and everything else there. Both close to wayshrines also. :)

In terms of actual house, I love the Velothi Reverie. It's the perfect size if you're one of those players with the need to decorate an entire house (I am), and the rooms/outside area are all the perfect size and shape. I recently purchased the Amaya Lake Lodge and didn't pay enough attention to the house layout. It turned out to be pretty abysmal, and I'm having trouble working the the size and shape of its rooms. It's a pretty house, but Velothi Reverie beats it for sure.

    Sleek Creek, Rawl’Kha.

Crafting writs in open, bank, stable, easily accessible Thieves Guild hideout, decent traders and wayshrine. And is generally sunny.
Its this one city apartment, No Rawl is not an city but it has all of an city features in an tiny package.

I use several spots depending on the needs of each character.

Apprentices all hang out in Daggerfall. They can easily steal enough from the docks to pay the stable master. The crafting is not as convenient but the characters that get parked here don't do a lot of crafting anyway.

Adepts and Journeymen typically hang out in Mournhold. I can do my crafting and work on my Undaunted skill line. There's also a convenient stables between the way shrine and Undaunted enclave, in case they need to finish up their riding training.

Experts roam the Mundus chasing glory from one locale to another. They may do crafting writs, if they happen to be in a town or city.

Masters live in Riften. I craft every 3 days at Mistveil Manor. I can pick up equipment writs, run through a couple of duels on my way to the consumable writs, a quick jump over the canal and the turn-ins are right there. If I have any stolen items, I head to the outlaw's refuge, otherwise, I sell to Strav and do my banking and trading in the bank.

Townhouse is quaint, city is gorgeous and quite practical, and it stays full of people like a real town.

For my main crafter, I prefer Alinor (the townhouse is next to the crafting area), but pop in to my snuggy Snugpod to finish off Master Writs (which I tend to let build up and do in big batches) as the turn in is so close by (just past the bridge outside Elden Root). I have a baby dark elf that does his at Vivec City docks, though, and a Breton that has a magic and alchemy shop in Daggerfall. Oh, and an Argonian that favors Rimmen. Basically, I'm all over the place.
