Total nonsense! Besides which, the US government disagrees. Our national cheese reserves are quite clearly labeled, "Pasteurized Process Cheese Food". So, either cheese is food, or possibly what the government is actually storing is the food that cheese eats.

Edit: I mean I couldn’t, the lactose would probably kill me after a week... but I’m sure someone could.
