Well, I said "I imagine" and "might be." Definitely totally speculative on my part. :#

And I think you’re right! But also that it comes with all that above...

I feel like this is trying to get people to play longer in a zone that isn’t as popular as most others (from what I read here), but it’s going about it the wrong way.

I'm pretty sure that ZoS have a rough plan of which events are going to happen when. The big problem is that it's very easy for schedules to be thrown off by other events, e.g. the Groupfinder problems (most of last year), so there's no point in publishing a calendar of events which is going to change several times along the way.

It's also likely that they monitor player participation in and feedback about events and that affects the schedule.

The first half of last year was just bonkers with wall-to-wall events and that generated a lot of complaints.

From memory ZO commented on hearing that feedback and reigned it in.

Other than the announcements, ESO website, and the link on the launcher, you can usually also find information about current special events ingame:
    • by speaking to the impressario's assistant (general overview of the event only)
    • from the ingame help - press F1 if you are on PC, and navigate down to events. The details provided there might not match up exactly with the main website announcement though, there can be small changes between the original event design and when it goes live.
These ingame sources are not always very GOOD, but many people don't know about them at all - it's worth checking them out.

Thank you very much for this! When I created my Event Tracker addon to help people not accidentally overrun their ticket cap and lose out, I also decided to help people with a little basic information on events, but of course the info is only as good as I have available to give it, so the more sources I have, the better!

It has 2 commands for info:
/evt info - How to get tickets, how many tickets are still available, how much longer it runs
/evt chat - Posts a more abbreviated version of that to the chat window to answer people's questions
    Event Tracker addon (PC NA/EU)
Helps you keep track of your Event Tickets, so you don't miss any. Double XP on events is PASSIVE now!!

Whether it's wise or unwise, if there truly are no guaranteed drops, then I imagine part of the intention might be to get people to play Murkmire more.

I'm more curious about the strongboxes possibly dropping from kills and nodes.
Interested to see if there will be bot stacks trying to farm the strongboxes.

Eek - I just realized that the new Update 25 download in the middle of the Murkmire event is also going to break a lot of Addons (for PC players) - the big quarterly updates always break at least SOME addons. Time to update the preparation steps...?

I agree it sucks to have an event during redownload period and it really stinks for some with poor internet service but ESO had several events still occurred when the PS4 was almost unplayable for several months.

In short suck it up buttercup just us console peasants had to because life is not fair in real life or gaming life. By all means b*tch moan and complain about like I did about PS4 performance issue’s but don’t expect a happy feel good response from ZOS cause it’s not coming.

This is going to be horribly congested and a lagfest with so many players in such a tiny zone. :s

Yes and no. What typically happens when you get a LOT of players converging on one zone is that they get split into different "shards", i.e. not all in the same instance. This is why, if you join a group to share daily repeatable quests, it is a good idea to teleport to crown when you join the group, to ensure that you are in the same instance of the zone. The zone is definitely going to be BUSY, but should be ok for most players, most of the time.
