Why is PVP so disregarded/irrelevant to updates?

I play pvp quite frequently and have bought crown crates, cosmetics, every chapter, and have subbed since the game came out. Try again.

Congratulations you are a rare outlier?
Statistics still don't favor PVPers are money spenders in PVE oriented games.

No he is not, have 4 ESO plus accounts and players in the household who have spent embarrassingly large amounts of money in the Crown store going on for almost 6 years now.
We all PvP. Please don't make up facts.
Edit - In addition I bet PvP has sold more riding lessons than PvE. lol
-Are you posting in the forums? CHECK!
-Do you PVP?(Requires definition: A PVPer is someone who participates in PVP. A person who joins a battleground in PvE gear to unlock vigor or occasionally "try it out" is arguably not a PVPer as they do not actively seek the content. Just a definition here for a common ground of understanding). CHECK!

    Congratulations!
You now account for less than 5% of the player base. It's not a made-up statistic. Forums generally account for LESS THAN 5% OF A PLAYER BASE(indy games skew this.. but eso isn't indy!)

The "but my family friends do it!" argument is a fallacy! It's called an ECHO CHAMBER where the only people you hear say what you want to hear. It does not represent a majority or even statistical significance. Due to the size of the forums, every single member here could agree on something and we would STILL BE MINORITY.

I don't care one way or the other on the PVP issue. I still find plenty to do in PVP after all this time myself and don't need a fancy toy or gimmick every week. Heck, the addition of gates and bridges changed play pretty significantly itself. Just please understand when you actually speak for a majority and when you most absolutely do not.

What the hell did that have to do with anything I said?

You seem to think your 4 accounts as statistically significant. My original point was that people in this thread screaming "hey I spend money and I PVP" are an extreme minority. It doesn't change the truth that PVE players(especially housing) pay considerably more into ZOS's bottom line than any amount of PVPers ever will.

If you don't like the fact that you are a rare outlier then I'm sorry but it doesn't change anything.
We do get PVP improvements regularly. We do not get them in the same volume as PVE because we frankly are not the primary focus of the game.

What a load of garbage. "Pvers" spend more is nothing more than forum group think. I was a high end raider for several years. I was in a housing guild, and I am currently a pretty active pvp guild leader. My spending on the game has not fluctuated at all across that time. I didnt magically spend more because I was monotonously spamming LA+skill at bosses instead of players.

If it were up to me I'd revamp Cyordiil into a fully PVE zone like it should've been from the start. Leaving only BGs for PvP.

    I am pro designer.

I really could care less what you think, my money is as good as yours and I am sure ZOS appreciates every player's money.

A big part of the problem of getting new players into pvp is that the pvp community is so toxic.. honestly they are nasty a/h's and they trash any one new who comes in, Im a pvp'r and the amount of hostility and toxic verbiage in zone and in whispers is frankly disgusting in this day and age.

If the pvp community want pvp to grow and become a focus for Zos, they need to stop the toxicity and hatefulness and start being more welcoming and encouraging to new players.

Zos will only pay attention to pvp when its got a big enough player base and we will only get a big enough player base by changing the way we treat the pve'rs and new players in cyrodiil and be more welcoming and inclusive. If the pvp community cant do that, then nothing in cyrodiil will ever improve

@ZOS_GinaBruno maybe you can pass along this suggestion: The welcome to cyrodiil quest is not indepth enough for new players. It needs to be somehow made so that first time an account goes into cyrodiil they have to do it, and then it needs to have more information in it about the campaign, what the keeps are worth, what the scrolls are worth, what are the scrolls, how to travel in cyrodiil, etc.. everywhere else in Tamriel the quests are in depth and drawn out but in cyrodiil new players to pvp are left with little to no information on the map they are about to play.

No thanks, I can find similar BG content in pretty much every other online game, but large scale objective based combat is something different.

Probably because the PvP community would just scream at ZOS to nerf what they do give them so why bother?

@Joy_Division I can't hit the "Agree" button enough.

The OP completely disregarded the craftable Cyrodiil sets and performance improvements.

I'd say this is a stretch, things that have been requested for years is hardly disregard.

Meanwhile PvE gets new content continually.

There’s close to 0 attention being paid to it and this year all we get is a siege weapon...?

What happened to the new daedric items coming into the game like Volendrung?

The new content all looks great I’m all for it and appreciate the efforts, but damn, PVP has been out in the cold for so long now it kinda sucks.

It's cause the horrible performance and random, massive changes to abilities and items have put a lot of people off from PvP in ESO. I know plenty of people who either quit the game or just don't bother with PvP any more. So of course the low population of pvp'ers is what most likely leads to zos not bothering to focus on it which is pretty horrible considering they caused the low population in the first place

While I understand the sentiment, i.e some form of new content for PVP would be welcome (and I agree)... I do think that it is important the PVP community understand that the entire game is largely balanced around PVP.

Many of the recent changes and developments seem to have been driven by PVP balance, some of them (not all) to the detriment of PVE. So we do need to keep perspective. A lot of work has been done in terms of PVP. Fingers crossed new content will be next once they have all the classes/skills "balanced".

I’ll give you a good reason why they should care about the health of PvP. It gets eyeballs on the product. All the biggest streams are PvP streams. If a new player pops into an ESO stream and sees 10FPS Cyrodiil he might just walk away for a game that doesn’t look like a slideshow.

The big selling point for this game is the brand.

Nice one, I believe in my 5 years of doing only pvp, I have paid to this game more than the avg casual player.

Just last week I spent 12 million. and bought 22000 crowns. Thats a week. I've been playing 4 years. And I'm a filthy casual.

This weekend I have 5 million assigned to another spending spree :)

Simple reason is PvP isn't a content driven play experience such as PvE. You and me hitting each other is the PvP content. Everything else is just decoration to the actual content. Its why PvP is so often added to games. Its such a cost effective way of giving players "content" without actually doing anything except providing the place for them to enjoy the content. So anything that isn't the "content" can slip by the wayside. Heck, WoW made millions by starting out with three maps for a lot of people for years. That's why I think it gets such a small focus. It just doesn't seem to need one. Besides they always get around to throwing something at it or screwing around with mythic balance again to keep players entertained.
