Skyrim - Chapter Upgrade Image (Datamine)

After seeing Solitude, supposedly, as a main city of the chapter, i start to think that there will be two years of Skyrim in a row.
    • Solitude, Reach, vampires - this year
    • Winterhold, Whiterun, maybe spellcrafting as big feature at 10th anniversary of TES: Skyrim - next year
Because Winterhold in all his glory is too juicy theme, no single player TES game will never had oppotunity to tell that story, because of timeline (only in some kind of visions). And i doubt they will make all Skyrim in one chapter, it's too big.

ZOS pandering to the fanbois and those that shout loudest on the forum yet again.

This doesn’t even make sense , you can look at the map and tell that eventually the game would go back to Skyrim. It was only a matter of time. How long has the game been out now, 6 yrs? It’s hardly pandering.

The only group I find more annoying than the Skyrim fanatics is the anti-Skyrim crowd. Both are irritating but at least the Skyrim fanboys don't feel the need to crap over other people's joy 24/7.

If this is true it's a shame it looks exactly like it does in 4E. The Blue Palace seems the same and even the windmill is there.

Serana mentions the Solitude windmill in her dialouge, so it makes sense for Zenimax to keep it there in ESO.

City was destoryed before the time of Elder Scrolls five. No it does not look the same as there is far more to the city in that picture. The Windmill was outside the city in Skyrim but you can see there is more past the windmill in that photo. That Windmill has always been there from what I understand even Serana makes mention of it. Mentioning she has read about it. So I can imagine that has to be a very old windmill. City was sieged in the war of the red Diamond so it had to be rebuilt. I believe the photo we are seeing might look like Solitude before it happened. Its likely the Windmill has survived the siege so it was one of the structures that remained maybe. It goes to show if that photo is correct the city use to be a lot bigger.

I am not sure about this one. It could be right out of the actual TESV just modded. ESOs scaling is a bit different from Skyrims, but that looks way to similar to the scale in Skyrim.

Solitude is great, and I'd actually love it if it were as similar as possible to TESV because it was a beautiful city, military and Imperial but also very cosy and pretty (even during public beheadings). And it does make me wonder if we'll get another special quest with Sheogorath.

The one sad thing is, this probably means no Markarth :(

I think its an artistic version of it. They have been known to have art of locations and npcs and other stuff in the past. So I doubt it would look like that in game. Of course it wouldn't look that good but hopefully it does look that good. I doubt its a modded tesv.

Solitude was the city that was the empires stronghold during the civil war. Its also where Ulfric murdered the High King. Its where the Hero of Kvatch/ Sheogorath 2.0 was Vacationing in the mind of the ghost of the infamous mad emperor.. It was also where the Wolf Queen Quest took place and where the Vampire Court Mage gave you a quest to deal with a nearby cave of vampires. Its also the location where you had to slay the bride for the dark brotherhood.

I'm happy if this is true, Because Winterhold suits better as a DLC zone like Thieves Guild (Abah's Landing city scale) and CWC.
Winterhold definitly needs it's own DLC.

Funny enogh to have a Dragonhold and Winterhold

"The earliest known texts that describe Solitude as a well-established kingdom, when the province held ties with the First Empire, concurrent to the formation of the Bards College. The Kingdom of Solitude was one of the greatest oppositions against Olaf One-Eye, who rose to supremacy in the wake of the War of Succession. Olaf's wrath over the city was swiftly-executed and animosity between the king and the city created one of Solitude's longest-living traditions, the Burning of King Olaf. It is held annually in the courtyard at the Bards College. It has since become one of the most significant trading ports, collaborating with other cities of worth such as Senchal, Wayrest, and West Anvil. Following the First Akaviri Invasion in 1E 2704, Emperor Reman I shifted focus to the Reach, splitting into its east and western-half. He utilized several forays from both Solitude and Evermore to quell the spirits of the local Reachmen, but these attempts were unsuccessful since taming the landscape was much harder for these soldiers.

In 2E 431, the assassination of High King Logrolf brought about a time of change in the province of Skyrim. Naturally, the throne would have been passed to the High King's next of kin, ideally, Jarl Freydis of Windhelm. However, tension had arisen between the east and west when Jarl Svartr of Solitude had challenged her claim to leadership and thus called for a moot. The moot had chosen Svartr as their High King, and what followed was a decisive schism that created the West and East Kingdoms of Skyrim, with the west under the rule of High King Svartr of Solitude. His domain became the capital of the western kingdom, which remained active for several years, even to the early years of the Alliance War in 2E 582, when it was ruled by High King Svargrim.

One of the quests I remember:
"...the former Bosmer High Priest of Mania, Dervenin, who at the time seemed like a simple beggar, convinced the Last Dragonborn to assist him in finding his master. This resulted in the Dragonborn unknowingly entering the mind of the dead Pelagius Septim III, and was tasked with convincing Sheogorath to return to the Shivering Isles. He agreed to return them, but only if the Dragonborn could escape Pelagius' mind. Sheogorath decided to assist the Dragonborn by providing the Wabbajack, along with instructions on how to use it to remedy Pelagius of his insanity. Having completed several challenges and conquering the dead emperor's inner fears, the Dragonborn was able to return to Tamriel, but not before being given the Wabbajack by Sheogorath as a parting gift."

I don't know if Jyggalag/Sheogorath would have that special connection to the Area like the Hero of Kvatch Version. Since he/she did aid and help the Last Septim. After all he says to Pelagius you are the best septim that has ever ruled. Well except for that Martin fellow and he turned into a dragon god that is hardly sporting you know I was there for that whole affair. I wonder if Pelagius being a Septim was the reason The Hero of Kvatch choose to vacation there.

@HjorrMundGandr nope, the Bard's College was formed some time during the Seond Era. https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Bards_College_(Faction).

Edit. Clicked through some of the links. The Bards College was formed as part of the Guilds Act, which happnened in 321, 2E, eso takes place 582, 2E. So the Bards College was formed over 400 years before "our time".

    Correction:

"The Bards College was founded when Skyrim was a part of the First Empire, roughly during the twilight years of Ysgramor's dynasty, and the years following"

    "Haafingar (Solitude)
The home of the famous Bards' College, Haafingar is also one of Skyrim's chief ports, and ships from up and down the coast can be found at her crowded quays, loading timber and salted cod for the markets of Wayrest, West Anvil, and Senchal. Founded during Skyrim's long Alessian flirtation, the Bards' College continues to flaunt a heretical streak, and its students are famous carousers, fittingly enough for their chosen trade. Students yearly invade the marketplace for week of revelry, the climax of which is the burning of "King Olaf" in effigy, possibly a now-forgotten contender in the War of Succession. Graduates have no trouble finding employment in noble households across Tamriel, including the restored Imperial Court in Cyrodiil, but many still choose to follow in the wandering footsteps of illustrious alumni such as Callisos and Morachellis.
