SypherPK at ESO event?

seem like a smart move by zos to me.

If you want to use a streamer to promote your game, and your game has major problems atm, use a popular streamer that hasn't been streaming the utter crap show that this game has been lately with disconnects etc. He has a recognizable face, has played and streamed eso in the past with much fanfare. It checks enough boxes to make sense from zos perspective.

    Just my opinion, though.

I don't think inviting/hiring Sypher is necessarily a bad move, think of it like sports teams who have retired players do event stuff even if they don't play or are involved in the game any longer.

I believe the reason it's a bad look for ESO is because they're doing this combined with the fact they are notoriously known for not listening to their own community and accused of being out of touch with the same.

If ZOS had a good repertoire with their own community, bringing back Sypher might actually be viewed as something fun and as a positive. But in the current light it looks like a company who is so out of touch with their community, or so fearful of what an active player might have to say about the current state of things, that they paid for a personality to try to get a few thousand extra eyes on a game they'll pretend is in a wonderful place right now at this event.

Agreed. That's exactly how it looks. It comes off as not wanting a current PvP player because of the state of the game.

I like Sypher. I watch his Fortnite stream sometimes and I don’t play Fortnite. I see why they’d pay him in the hopes of getting his followers on Fortnite to give ESO a go.

However, FORGET his followers. I wish HE’D hop on his MagDk and play lol.

I did, it's not an issue at all. It's a confusing decision that ZOS apparently doesn't want people that play the game hyping it. But as I already said, I'm not angry. You seem to be. Is there a problem with discussion on a discussion board?

You do know they flew several content creators out there to be on the show with them right? And are having special post show streams by dedicated ESO comment creators? Sypher is a pre-show hype man, while the bread and butter of the other people involved are there during the show and after. The whole point of advertising outside your already established player base IS TO REACH A BIGGER AUDIENCE. That's how advertising works.

Are they gonna shove Deltia out on the stage as well and say "Remember him? He used to like us too"? If there's going to be a streamer representing PvP (which maybe I'm just assuming that's what this is) shouldn't it be someone who streams the game and plays PvP?

Hell why not roll out ZERGBAD while we're at it

Deltia wouldn't show. He has something 99% of streamers don't. A real job.

    Don’t know the dude.

But if zos is expecting me to forget and forgive, just because they drag some charming young man into their presentation, they are sadly mistaken. Sadly. Mistaken.

I’m expecting somewhat humility. A recognition on the level of mess it’s been the last year. I need something more than a random American streamer (sorry to the Americans, it’s not about you. It’s zos)

Sypher is there to put eyeballs on the game for people that don't currently play. It isn't for you, as you currently play. More people, means more revenue, means better content/game around longer. Just embrace the fact that ESO is bigger than your personal world view of it. It is what it is.

Well. Branding is a thing. And either one takes care of existing customer base or one will end up with a brand that doesn’t match when the game was launched.

Sure, new heads = new revenues. But if old player base is gone, it’s not more. Just others.

We can fool ourselves into believing it has nothing to do with the millions copies already bought. But it’s probably a somewhat simplified perspective

I like Fengrush, but he bashes the game a lot, or I should say honest about the game. While he is too big for ZOS to ignore, they probably won't put him on stage. Sypher started his streaming career on eso, and is a fairly popular streamer right now.

@DTStormfox it probably boils down to how many follow them.
I'm assuming Sypher has more ppl following him or they probably would have went with Feng.
Just a guess, but it doesnt matter to me who they get if it brings more ppl to the game.

    well said,
    all truth.
most of the problems we have Resolved in eso was created from the older-day years ago streamers playstyles.
we finally are no longer involved with that type of thinking, and it shows in the advancements of builds and playstyles far better than what we knew existed, and starting to create our own new way of playstyles in eso.
especially in pvp. allowing people to learn pvp and pve multiple builds and fighting styles ingame instead of cookie cutter playstyles and builds. we now instead make our own builds and learning to think how to fight better without those influences that destroyed most of what the developers intended. it took years to change the problems that were created.

Yet those " new builds people come up with now" will utterly get destroyed by builds that said streamers came up with years ago... So what is your point? oh yeah that new stam nb build with poisonous serpent proc is so scary compared to hundings rage and and agility a build from over three years ago that actually takes skill to play and is far better than any poisonous crutch or procs that stam NB's wear nowdays, or ganking with silver leash. Old number builds will always be king.

why do you preach the lowering of skill so much? what did the streamers do to you?

Sypher hadn’t played in a while. His build was jacked and he didn’t know animation canceling some of his skills canceled the skills.

HOWEVER, HIS skill was still there. It was fun to watch. He ran by a few fools I know (and hate) that I PRAYED he’d drop lol. But oh well.

SypherPK would give a WHOLE lot of people some trouble if his build was right and up to date. Lol. That man can BRAWL still!

Loved the fight in the rocks at the end, and THAT foot work comment. That dude is a god!

Edited: I like Fengrush. I don’t know how excited I’d have been to watch him pvp, mainly because I see it all the time. I watch his stream.

Personally, I’d have rather seen Fengrush ON STAGE. Not because he’s a pvper; but, come on...he’s like THE ESO streamer right now. The cream of the crop as content creators go.

Jeez, how toxic can this community get. PvP is losing players constantly and you have people complaining about ZOS inviting the most popular PvP streamer this game has ever had to come and promote the game? Are you for real?
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.
