Provide a Toggle to Turn On/Off Vampire Skin

The reason I ask for the toggle is not any of the many facial or body markings I have will work on the Vampire Skin. If the toggle is not possible then at least put a notice in the Crown Store when purchasing a particular body marking or facial marking that they will not work with the Vampire Skin.

The Rime Skin works pretty good. Gotta wait for it to cycle back into the crown crates, but its only 40 gems if I remember correctly. Works really well with high elves.

    IMHO

They just need to fix the visibility of the markings on vampire skin. Given how popular vampires have always been, it has to be a decent chunk of potential lost money. I personally for the most part avoid buying the markings because I don't want to waste my money on something that will be all washed out. Unlike a lot of the problems this game has, this would be such an easy thing to fix. Yes, I'm serious. They just need to change the layer ordering. It really is that simple.

I'm gonna have to agree with this one. The main reason I have always hesitated on vampirism isn't the extra fire dmg, or the health recovery reduction. It's the freaking aesthetics.

I actually found Dark Elf characters look better as vampires, for the rest I either use Amberplasm or a skin that I got for gems - Could be the one mentioned above, but I can't say from the top of my head.

Never understood this myself. I have a vampire, it's a choice, it comes with consequences. Stage 2 isn't so bad, and you get the red eyes.

The Rime skin works well to hide it. Tried it, didn't like it.

I'd like to see a "Mortal Skin" or something else, but here's why we never will: Selling band-aids is more profitable than selling the cure. Meaning, they can keep selling substitute skins because "maybe the next one looks better than arctic rime" and many will buy it just for the chance to look better than they do now. If they permanently solve/reverse the vamp appearance problem, they also reduce the demand for new skins to cover it up.

    Best solution: fix the markings
Meh solution: add a notice that it doesn't work well with vampire appearance changes

Solution that contradicts the vast majority of vampire gameplay in the TES games, including the strain of vampirism we see in ESO: give vampires an appearance toggle.

Its not that we've never ever seen vampires hide their appearance temporarily (such as Seridur in Oblivion, who's also got some weird gameplay mechanics that set him apart from other Oblivion vampires in order to pull off that quest's twist), but its not the norm and we have no evidence that the strain of vampirism we inherit from Lamae Bal is able to do so.

I also like the vampire skin look. For RP purposes, you can be hooded.
Also, I'm against the toggle option, there should be a distinctive look and drawback element for people that don't like the skin look, it is a disease or better to say a curse after all.

For those who don't like it, the permanent skin fix is simple:

No. You people who want all the perks of vampire without the down sides are really kind of sad sacks. If you do not like it, do not go Vampire.
I hope they make the downsides to vampire worse just so all of you power gaming stat monkeys will stop taking it just for the advantages.

Tbh. Vampire's look is one of its flaw. In fact, it is its main flaw. (Flame dmg can be reduced/negated by CP). So if all of the sudden we will have an option to simply "turn off" vamipre visual "ugliness" - it will simply mean that you will have additional passives without almost any drawback. In practise, it will mean that almost everybody will be a vampire.

It seem to me that OP wants to eat a cake and still have a cake.
Imho the only way it could be done is if you sacrifice something else to gain "normal look" on a vampire character. Like 5pcs set bonus that will literally have only "Hides your vampirism appearance" or maybe a food buff that will ONLY have an effect that will temporary suppress vampirism appearance (or maybe even appearance & vampire passives all together).

The whole 'appearance is a negative' thing is only a negative for some people, others like it. A visual downside is not going to be universal. A toggle would make some people very happy without impacting you.

My main issue has always been that it turns you white regardless of what colour you were previously. You should go pale based off your original skin tone, it's pretty awful that darker tones that go snow white and needs a re-think imo. A mortal toggle would be nice, but I'd love a toggle that just made the colour change less intense!

Vampire provides huge benefits, there should be some pay-off for that. Don't tell me about fire susceptibility etc, you have Mist and magDKs are not very mobile, so you can always disengage from high dps one. In PVE it's even simpler, just drop to stage 1 at fire-heavy bosses and enjoy free recovery+tankiness in all others.

Cause then werewolves will want to still use the power of the Ultimate without actually transforming as well.

Because you and the OP are not the ones that are having the final word on this, or get to decide will it be or not, as you can see, more people on this thread are against it for one or another reason, so why would zos even consider it.
So, you will need to wait 6 more years, as it seems for now.

What a nonsense - than why people here always advice to use custom skins to hide vampirism? Cause it skins, not another model with animation. We do not want change our cars for helicopters - we just want to hide some elements of coloring.

Yep, keep poison susceptibility and provide all WW passives without transform. Next day, 95% of "i'm just roleplaying" vampires will switch to WW. I started playing vampire last month, in PVP this is easy mode in comparison to being human. Yeah, avoid stage4 and skilled magDKs, but that's hardly a problem in comparison of power of undeath and mist.

    I would agree with that!

I want the classic clichees too, like running water and aniumalistic blood-hunger at some stage, and mobs with toarch and stake if they fail the "masquerade"... but I posted all that before:
Yeah, there is a lot that could and perhaps should be done to revamp those bloodsucking fiends!

Foremost is the justice system interactions... Necromancing is illegal so we have a mechanic for this... it would only make sense is simply being a vampire would also get the guards riled up, yes? So, make all vampire skills a "criminal act" and also add a "vampire detection chance" per stage, say, 20% at 1, 40% at 2, 80% at 3 and auto at 4, with a "kill on sight" bounty if they find out you're a bloodsucking fiend as the guards come after you with stake and torch, cannot use vendors who would just screech and cower in fear at the "monster" (remember how people reacted to vampires in those rivenspire questings!), etc...
...but also add a "masquerade" skill to toggle that will lower your appearance and thus detection chance by one stage while active - at the cost of one skill slot (meaning, zero chance and completely mortal looking when using that one at stage 1) - just like Count Verandis Ravenwatch obviously is using during the first meeting in Shornhelm!

And also, I would love to see a lot more of the good old vampire clichés brought into ESO vampirism, to make these characters more feel like the classics rather then "just another PC with an extra skill line"...

I would love to see vampires also have a chance of auto-attacking innocents when on stage four. Just a "overwhelming bloodthirst" thing if blood-starved... makes sense, yes? Or perhaps add a "stage five" where this happens, as sign that your vampire has their blood thirst drow for too long and is actually starving now, perhaps with some hefty penalties as well to make it impossible for people to just "park their vampire at S-4" to gain the game benefits without some effort to keep them there or risk sliding into the "bad end" stage...

I would love to see some reason for vampires to shy away from "running water" - it could be a annoyingly reduced swimming speed, or a steady, massive magica drain while swimming... hey, it IS a classic, is it not?

I would love to see a "charm" skill or passive, to allow them to nibble at civilians without it being all crime-ish (as long as noone else sees it, of course). That one -could- also be useful as CC in combat to momentarily daze opponents (although, in most myths this "dominating gaze" only really works if the victim looks deep into the vampires eyes, not exactly something combat-useful...)

I would love to see the vampire feeding to not just -stun- but also damage! In days of blade of woe, it could at least suck away half their victims HP, right? Also, while talking about that... is it not annoying that those two are on the same trigger, and sometimes you use the wrong one if the mob you target moves half a step at the wrong time? Why not combine them both into a "Bite of Woe" that counts for both feedings and assassinations?

I would love to see player vampires use the same skills like common bloodfiends! That shadowy teleport! Definitely should be added to their arsenal, wouldn't you think? Also, bloodfiends... why are those lowly creatures attacking their vampiric superiors? Should they not know their place and realize that this is not a meal, but another undead, and maybe all be "yellow" non-aggro towards player vamps?

I would love to see vampires get a special mount that is -only- useable by characters that are vampires, with some sort of "bat swarm transformation" visuals...

I would love to see vampires stop geting food buff benefits... I mean, should they not be incapable of those, yet get "recently fed" buffs instead? And possibly have the option of making special "vampire" drink recipes with -actual blood- as part of the recipe that gives vampires only special buffs?

I would love to see vampires get a way to store blood in alchemically treated vials for "later use" when feeding at "full" (to sip later for better stage control, or to use in the aforementioned recipes)?

I would love to see vampires have an "vampire sanctuary" where they can gather and sociualize with other vampy players, have vampire-themed gear & furniture vendors, and vampire-themed crafting stations, vampire-themed daily quests (like, "sneak into this nobles home and put the bite towards their nubile daughter to teach them not to mess with the rulers of the night..." or "go into that dwelve and ambush the vampire hunter somewhere in it" or "bring this gift to the vampire lord that lives in this place..." - randomly selected and all over the maps!) and pomme-se-sang NPCs to snack on... they -could- redo and expand the map for the initiation quest for that one, could they not?
