Returning to PC

I played PC version at launch and here and there the last few years. Once I bought an XBOX One X I decided to play there. Somehwere along the way I did this by creating two different accounts. So my XBOX account is not linked to my original account. Now that I am trying to go back to PC version I noticed this. Is there any reason I should worry about merging these accounts or is everything seperate anyways?
