Why is one of my characters slower?

Only one of my chars is an orc, everyone else has the same speed bonuses from all sources (and not using steed mundus) and has identical gear pieces
It's just weird. It's the oldest char too, but I only started playing in 2017 I believe, so I don't think it would be related to some ancient bug, if such thing existed.

I'm not going to bother sending a support ticket because they wouldn't even go past a reply from one of those first level trained chimps who make you check graphic driver version and defragment your disk when your character turns into a chihuahua and all elves start speaking like Justin Bieber.

Maybe all of your characters are Orcs, except for the slower one? That's legit the only thing I can come up with right now, if they all wear the same medium armor set and all have the same perks.
Its an cap on running speed so with 3x swift and speed sets an Orc is better off boosting stamina and regen instead.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I was gonna say check each character's FoV setting. A higher one gives the illusion youre not traversing as fast as a lower FoV.
Yes same as character height or the mount, low mounts like senche or wolfs feel faster than horses or camels as you get higher off the ground, same reason driving an van feel slower than an low sports car at the same speed.

I thought I was imagining this, but yeah, my high elf is slower than everybody else. Not cool, ZOS.

The question is, are they really slower or does it just look that way? Like, if you run the same stretch with two characters that have the exact same prerequisites and one of them is an Altmer, will he really take longer? Or does it just seem like he's slower because he's taller, has longer legs, and takes bigger and, therefore, fewer steps, which makes the running animation look 'slower'?
This poor little Bosmer stealth passive had passionate friends and a big loving family!

Ironic as they were the fastest race in TESV.

The larger your character is, the slower its moving animation is. It probably just looks slower but is the same speed.

    I suppose that explains Orcs.

You can really see this phenomenon on a single character by slapping a large polymorph on them and running around.

When wearing the Wraith-of-Crows polymorph (which is huge), it always seems more sluggish to me even though there is no actual speed change to that character. Same with mounts while wearing that polymorph since mounts scale to character size.

I’ve always felt that my first character, an Imperial DK, just seems to move slower than many I created later, especially my Khajiit sorc and my Breton NB. I always chalked it up to false perception, but now that others feel the same it makes me wonder. We need to have some foot races to test it.

    You checked cp?
Is it a necro? There was a slow run bug on them.
Is it actually slower or is it a bigger character so it LOOKS slower. My Bosmer SEEM faster than my Imperials n

Bosmer need to mount up in water sooner than Altmer, so it might not just be looks after all...

It’s definitely weird. We all load in as medium size Breton males and have the same hitbox but yeah, short characters get into puddles more often.

Can't agree more. Human perception could be tricked so easily, it is not reliable at all. That's how many magic trick works. You can experience something similar in real life, just look out the window when the airplane take off, it is usually going over 150 mph but it always feel slower then when you going over 100 mph on highway.

Got around to testing this on all my chars. with a stopwatch.

A simple run (not sprint) between two torches near the Grahtwood writ turn in boxes.

Result:all chars. ran the "track" in nearly exactly 14 seconds,so no speed bug, although i was convinced there was!
