Cannot turn down ANY lighting vis in this game.

I have turned gamma down; turned my monitor settings to nearly black screen
and the sodding lighting effects show up on top.

Not sure who coded this, but apparently they were looking to blind people and/or so proud of their effects that they did not want the option to be turned down available.

It sucks, and it's not just about tired eyes, it's wtfb. :(

Maps I love but can't stand the brightness of: Alik'ir & Summerset B)

Dunno if this helps, but when I had my Uveitis flare up I turned on night mode on windows , and it really helps. ITs like playing the game in sepia tho =P

Thank you all for your insights and suggestions, glad to see i'm not the only one
Thing is (and for those that say don't play the game) i don't have any problem playing the game for hours, even during the night, no strain at all, that si because i have already taken the precautions in terms of brightness/contrast, gamma and blue light filter settings (on my display not the game) and it works EXCEPT when that super bright lightning comes in, it's just too strong and there's no way to tone it down, and the fact that it's random flashes every 3-5 seconds make it a lot worse now i can put on glasses for 10mn but when it lasts for hours it's really annoying, and even through the sunglasses i feel it (i have noticed the storms are not always the same intensity and frequency wise)

there is a warning for ppl with problems with strobing effects in game, not wanting to sound harsh but you took the risk knowing they existed, its unfair to ask for a change that will effect everyone in the game because you choose not to follow advice or warnings given before you started to play, no different to going to a night club and demanding the lasers/lights are turned off because you chose to put yourself at risk

    What ?
It's not going to affect everyone, it's going to give them a CHOICE
    Please know the difference

I wish there was a toggle to keep it night time all the time in this game. Sometimes the brightness of certain areas in the daytime even with the brightness turned down is unbearable. I'm looking at you, Alik'r.

If you looked at some of my houses you wouldn't be saying this. They can be much more bright at night.

If you have a nvidia card, try to turn off "Antialiasing - Gamma correction".
It reduces the intensive glow around light sources. And yes, the graphic will look different.

Thinking back, if the weather is client side shouldn't there be a way to mess with some files to make sure lightning doesn't happen ?
