What we want for Skyrim housing

And MORE NPCs for housing!!! Pleeease! 🥺

Skyrim is the perfect time to introduce bard NPCs to our homes (if not following on our adventures to sing of how bravely we ran away! ).

I want wayshrine furnishings.

And I want a very plausible and cool variation of flying mounts: portable wayshrine "assistants" that would be slotted just like the merchant and banker, restricted to spawn only in outdoor overland PvE zones, and land only where placed (like siege) rather than following you around. So you can target a spot and summon a Gryphon or whatever to fly down and act like a personal wayshrine until you walk away, enter combat, or unsummon. When you activate it, you go to your map, select a destination like normal (or... any overland destination??), then watch an animation of you mounting up and the mount flying into the air with you. Load screen, then you load into the target destination as you normally would, with your mount swirling off somewhere overhead. Free fast travel in any overland zone. Quality of life heaven.

And of course the flying mounts should be placable as wayshrine furnishings, too! Imagine nerding out with your nerd friends on a trial dummy parse, then collectively mounting up on 12 Gryphons to fly off and slay dragons. The RP'ers and collectible hoarders would shell out some coin for that one.

• All sized houses, (inn, apartment, medium, classic, manor, sandbox, etc), purchasable for gold.
• More structural furnishing, (walls, stairs, platforms, windows, etc), that match houses.
• Search string in furniture crafting window for those of us that have a lot of recipes to scroll through or at least alphabetize them.
• More food, fabric, utilitarian props, and knicknacks.
• More craftable, less crown only, and NO gem only furniture.
• Instruments and gear.

I posted this somewhere else, but symmetrically shaped, 3D star lanterns would be nice, in two sizes.

So you could hang them from their chain, as a light, or turn them upsidedown and use them as New Life tree toppers.

Supply crates furniture.

How would that work ?
- Different supply crates for different type of crafting skill line (example: woodworking supply crate, enchanting supply crate etc.).
- You could get them from writ voucher vendor NPC, or crown store (just like storage chests).
- You can place limited number of items inside, but only crafting items.
- Items inside are visable by crafting stations only.
- You could access those crates only by your house (just like housing storage).

Apparently the clickable options don't let me both agree and say that this is awesome. But this idea would be make properly organizing your supplies according to crafting types way easier.

I'm hoping for
- A cozy Nord cottage in heavily snowfilled areas (small classic size)
- Maybe a castle somewhere up in the mountains, with towers great view (notable size)
- Could be interesting with something like a hobbit home somewhere? (staple size)

- Definitely a countryside homestead for brewing and enjoying some well-earned mead (large classic size)

It would be so freakin' amazing and nostalgic to bring back Lakeview Manor as the next chapters "Halls of Lunar Champion"!!

I'd love to see the cost of houses come down. I know you get more crates per cent if you buy a bigger package, but 14,000 crowns for a home, or 7,000 for a medium home is far too much, as 1500 for $15.00 basically equals $140.00 for a 14,000 crown home, ridiculous if you ask me, or $70.00 for a 7k crown home.

I'd also like to see more homes available for gold in general. Too much is behind the crown store.

Also, would live some kind of gardening system, and fishing system for houses. And NOT for crowns, if money must be involved it could be part of an ESO+ sub, but best would be for a gold based system.

Also, enough with the limited time houses. Just no.

I'd personally like to see more argonian themed architecture that isn't mud huts, but this is not the chapter/dlc for that, so I'll keep dreaming

I see a lot of wonderful suggestions in this thread!

I personally would like to see some more awesome quality of life functionalities that make houses feel like homes. We spend so much time, effort, love and money decorating our homes that they should be a place where our friends want to come hang out for different reasons.

Maybe we can sit a while and actually play Punctilious Conflict, not just sit around it and stare at its beautiful marble-white design. Perhaps a cook npc could mimic our knowledge of recipes and makes the food for our friends who come visit. That would definitely spice things up a bit. Perhaps gardens we could actually plant, care for and harvest once a day, week or month would make the houses feel more lived in. Maybe adding the sleep prompt to beds like they were added to chairs would put a lot of role-playing angst to rest. The suggestions are endless, but alas, we know the design capabilities are not.

The housing quality of life upgrades so far have been AMAZING, so I look forward to what next year's story will bring about in this regard. Not all of us enjoy the endless questing and harrowing grind, some of us are peace-seeking home buddies who just want to sit around a fire to laugh, drink and eat with our virtual friends. Give us more content that enables that general spirit please

With regards to furnishings, I would like to see:

-Beehives, both the little ones that bees make on trees and the little ones you can place in backyards.
-Pools and ponds that can be sunk into the ground, replacing the texture they are placed on.
-Sheds. Yes, they can be built, but having generic models would reduce slot consumption like compound place settings did.
-Dirt filled planters. Heck, dirt in general!
-More alchemy, enchanting and workshop tools.
-Musical instruments, even if they can't be played and are decorative only.
-Ships, not boats, SHIPS for our docks.

Now, the bad (We still love you Zos, but definitely have disagreements)

More Slots remains the number one housing issue as far as I can see in the housing community, so we hope that is being diligently worked on. I must also say seeing furnishings being locked behind gem purchases was a hard blow to those of us who do not approve of the crown crates system, but there is still time to mend that wound by discontinuing the practice.

All in all, I look forward to the future of housing next year and all the years to come!

That's it, that's all I want, a spiral staircase, in wood, metal, or stone, I don't care. I want an easier way to build up and the ramps and straight staircases we already have don't cut it, especially in small, cramped spaces.

From what they say, that is being diligently ignored.

They have said they will not increase maximum slots.

So, it would seem that the only way around this is to ask for solutions within the current maximum.

Like homes with larger furnishing allowances, relative to their size.

So, for example, Manor/Notable sized furnishing allowances for Large sized homes, and Large sized furnishing allowances for Medium sized homes and so on.

...and also, a way of grouping multiple standard (not just a few, new racial) items.

By either pre-grouping them, or letting us do it, so they count as one item.
