Guild Finder broken

26.11 14:35 EU. If you open the guild finder and try to browse guilds its stuck at refreshing results. I switched to a char without any addons just to make sure its not one.

I've had this issue on both servers since the feature came out unfortunately. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Usually it's a waiting game of either relogging, waiting with guild finder window open, or retrying the same query several times. Like many features it seems to just get overloaded sometimes.
(Am not ingame atm tho so this is about the general issue, don't know if something bigger I'd going in right now.)

Ok, so I closed the game, stopped the launcher. Restarted everything and its still at refreshing results 1 minute later.
Im going to let it run 5 more minutes but currently it looks just like another broken thing.

Well thanks Vivec they've disabled it otherwise the server would be burning right now because of the huge stress and load caused by the event, players need to get their sweet sweet tickets.
Isn't it how they've operated the past few months ? disabled the looking for group tool, disable guild history, disabled guild finder every time the servers "broke", then come back with a patch, sometimes with no downtime...

It doesnt matter what search criterias I choose, the finder is always on refreshing results.

Yes. The game, to all intents and purposes serves as a testbed for development.

ZOS will develop tools like guild finder, test them in the lab with a small sample and demand size to ensure they don’t utterly fail, then release them. They will be ‘surprised’ that their basic system doesn’t hold up under significant load or with sizeable amounts of data... and here we are.

It’s basically what every software developer does. You make sure your service is just about good enough and then release it into the wild hoping it will catch on and not totally embarrass you, then do upgrades/damage limitation on the fly. With both Guild Finder and Group/Activity Finder, ZOS could have waited and done more development prior to release, but we then would not have had these tools and any revised ones would probably have had the same issues these have had anyway.

The continued failure of these tools (and the significant detrimental impact they have on the game) is, however, inexcusable and a mark of ZOS’s lack of understanding at how their game operates and their ability/desire to develop it effectively. I mean a glorified search engine that doesn’t work because “there are too many guilds to search through” or “too many players are using it”, clearly should not have been let out the door.

Its now the 06.12 and I created this thread on 26.11. Since over 10 days the guildfinder is broken and there is no indication that it gets fixed.
Whats going on here?

This is so sad, the Guildfinder was one of the best additions in this game. It actually made things easier for all parties involved.

It made things so much easier, for players searching for a guild, and for Guildleaders. This adds again more and more work for the already hardworking guildmasters. Not to mention you could find guilds in the guildfinder you would have never known they existed without it.

Please ZOS, please consider this a priority. This is not a "cool little thing" that noone will notice if gone. It has grown essential to guilds, in the last few months.

We NEED it to work....
