Why do we have Veteran dungeons?

Besides the monster helms and experience, all I`m after is the transmute crystals. Just did a Vet dungeon (Tempest Island) and got a blue geode. Seriously!

We have vet dungeons because normal dungeons are a joke and do not provide a fun experience for many players. If you have good dps you can run through anything including the new dlcs like they are nothing on normal and not even know what the mechanics are supposed to be.

If you are looking for geodes the best place to find them is PVP.

In any case non-DLC veteran dungeons are a joke. Even bad players can pretty much speed run those nowadays.

I am of the opinion that veteran dungeons do not exist solely for the purpose of farming transmute crystals.

Run random BG and aim for at least 2nd place nets you a fair chunk. One match is usually around 15 minutes or so, and you can do the daily random bg on each of your characters. As a nice bonus you can get various weapon and armor styles from the bgs that are nice looking.

My only suggestion would be to look up some viable gear ideas for pvp (just so you're not a detriment to your team) and have a crafted set to slap on. Even just keeping a set of shacklebreaker with impen helps out quite a bit.

... remember when people played video games to have fun? I do.

And when I run vet dungeons, I do so because it's fun. If it isn't fun, I quit or don't queue up at all.

I have fun in any dungeon on ESO but if I am putting forth that extra effort and getting very little reward, that tends to discourage me. I would think that ESO would want to satisfy the players but if they are trying to keep us out of the pledges then they are on the right track.
