we will not hold another in-game event that requires the Activity Finder until we are 100% confident that the tool can support it. Stay tuned for details on that.

Clearly they failed to hold up to that statement. I would hope Rich or Matt will step up to the plate and maybe and own this while giving us an actual road map to fixing this issue once and for all. Maybe they need to set the bar a little lower than an absolute statement this time.

For those who want to read Rich's statement from last December I will link it below.

The key word there has always been requires.

Technically, Undaunted does not require Groupfinder, either this year or last year. It only heavily uses it. Midyear Mayhem actually required Groupfinder for BGs and was canceled accordingly.

If that strikes you as being very "letter of the law, not the spirit", I totally agree.

Log on, drag worthless pugs though dungeon hard mode doing 70% of the dps even though I qued as the tank and then nada. Go do forums to see WTF.

Irony is, the one time the group finder worked.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

It is the undaunted event. Appearingly they take on more than they can chew.

Husband, as I stumbled sleepy-eyed into the kitchen: “So they cancelled the event.”
    Me: “But...didn’t it just start?”
    Him: “And now it’s over.”
Me: Hysterical laughter. And more hysterical laughter. But no surprise. I just had my ESO 6th year birthday, along with only 300-some other players. And this is what I’ve come to expect — server overloads, buggy software, database delays, endless loading screens, daily crashes.

    What can I say. /Sad.

Oh yes and I understand that well.

However, considering Zos had to actually cancel an event because of issues the GF was causing smacks Rich and Matt in the face after their statement last year regardless of the "letter of the law".

Also note, that Rich clearly stated last year they thought they had fixed the GF. So "letter of the law" related, did they consciously ignore our numerous reports on the GF performance or stretch the truth a bit?
