It should be rolled back to before the event. Even tho I would lose stuff it's the only fair thing to do.

I've said it before, less concentration on "balancing", and a little more work on actually making the game work is what's required.

I really don't understand how so many people have problems with this game. I've played since beta and i have rarely ever had issues logging in, getting into queue, playing events, etc.. The forums are full of people that seem to just complain nonstop until something like this happens and the entire event gets shut down.

There are real issues especially on the pceu server. I'm like you and rarely experience anything on xb1, but there is no denying the problems. It's wacky that some of us don't have hardly any though.

Not at all. You spent time — why should you lose what you earned??? They do need to give everyone a chance to earn the rewards to be fair, yes, but not punish players who did nothing wrong. I would be quite pissed if they did any such thing and I didn’t get anything from the event and logged off for the night shortly after daily reset.

I think this would be a great solution, especially since you can get the delve daily from Undaunted too, thereby still keeping within the event theme.

Because people who don't work in IT complain when IT related issues happen.

Can I not complain about my car repeatedly breaking down due to similar issues, if I don't work in the car industry?
Can I not complain about the food I ordered being bad, if I'm not a chef?
Can I not complain about water leaking from the ceiling, two days after someone came to fix it, if I'm not a plumber?
Can I not complain about public transport not working or not being on schedule, if I don't work for a public transit provider?

I don't have to work in a specific industry to notice that something does not work as it should, and if I have paid for that something, I'm going to complain about it - even if I might not know the exact details of why it does not work, or how to fix it.

And yes, it's the servers, otherwise there wouldn't still be a stickied post and a dedicated post about exactly these issues.

PREACH! i might only pay 12,99 Euro's a month, but i can also go ahead and spend them elsweyr if that is what ZOS wants.

LMAO. Last time ZOS held this event they had issues with the activity finder. So in a nut shell nothing changed. I knew there was going to be problems so I did not even waste my time participating with the Undaunted Event this year. Looks like I made the right decision.

There is nothing saying it's due to issues with Activity Finder. Specifically the issues according to the Twitter are with EU Megaserver and it isn't fair if one server gets the event while the other doesn't. Instead of extending it indefinitely they chose to shut it off.
Hell I got 5 boxes by just soloing FG1; pretty sure many people did that rather than play with Activity Finder and get a long ass DLC dungeon you don't want.

Maybe having to cancel the event will encourage ZOS to do something meaningful about the EU server.

It sucks to cancel it for Xbox NA/EU, PS4 NA/EU, and PC NA when only PC EU was broken.

Just like removing the meridian style for months just because a typo on a different unrelated item in your collections...

Whatever *shrug* I feel bad all the people with work and school gonna have to wait months or pay high for items they didn’t have a chance to get.

After Gina’s second post, I doubt they’ll announce a replacement plan today. They’ve had all afternoon and are probably heading home for the day soon.

OMG I didn't even read all the post. Tons of posts complaining about the server loads and issues during the event and then ZoS cancels it and now a post complaining about canceling it. It's no wonder ZoS ignores ideas and suggestions on the forums. It's lose lose from their point of view.

Zos has had over a year to fix this mess. They quite obviously have not. So yeah, people are angry. Twice in as many years dungeon lovers have had to sacrifice their event because zos screwed up. My patience has finally run out. Years, youve had years to fix it. To fix many things. You wont. People have every right to be p***ed at you.

That'll suck if that's true. Still pretty early in the day where I'm at, so it'd have wasted a full day of the event.

It’s not just the group finder. The events put stress onto the servers, and since those servers are crap(especially for eu), problems pop up everywhere.

So part of the problem is that they needed to rent more servers during the event to add more dedicated to handling of instances. Each dungeon is instanced, yes they are small environments of group of four but the sheer volume of them is the problem. Buying more would be better than renting more.

In Cyrodill it's a similar issue even though it's limited to what seems to be a handful of them. Within each they create proto instances for point tracking within a targeted area range. So you get enough of those at one time it starts to contribute to all the factors to compound the issues. It's why it's hard to see as it is not as static of factors as you see in the undaunted event.

It's why sometimes you have lag and others not or even some people at the same time do not see the same lag. All depends in what target areas they are in, along with the other variables.

I still highly believe that one step to improve is to have Assistants be dismissed when the player enters combat to reduce the inter-actable tracking factor it introduces. More cons than pros to keep them active. Perhaps in Cyrodill even disallow non-combat pets to reduce loads on environment drawing. The lose of a cosmetic to improve lag is a small loss in comparison to the gain.

Well they need to give us the opalescent style pages and masks to compensate for their problem. I'm sick of these broken events. And they still haven't fixed the bluescreen issue on ps4 when traveling to senchal. I get frozen load screen every single time I travel there.

Casual pve'ers/rp'ers who are either blind to ZOS's incompetent development or simply don't care, who continue to fork over $$$ for broken classes, tiny instances, miniscule content, and laughably "claimed" performance improvements are the reason this has gotten so bad. Hardcore players, pver'ers and pvper's saw the writing on the wall years ago, that's why content isn't developed for them anymore; because they're gone.

Except people exploited at least one delve boss during the Witches event, making it respawn way too fast and with no cooldown on the plunder skull.
Pretty sure ZOS didn't even acknowledge that and just let it keep going.

This "solution" I think players screwed themselves and made ZOS take it off the table even before the Undaunted event started.

Yeah, that helps...what about people who rely on the groupfinder like me? Not everyone is socially capable to use the zonechat, and 99% cant use the groupfinder again. Like last year...

    Except not.

The issue was affecting everybody who was moving from one zone/region/dungeon/room to another different space. They were all getting long screens, disconnects and failures. Irrespective of whether they were using the group finder or not.

Players going into delves were experiencing the same issues as players using the group finder.

Group finder might be the most obvious catalyst for this failure, but the root cause is that the servers cannot handle the demand of creating so many instances.

New Life, and to some extent Witches, seem to avoid this by being so long that everyone ends up with everything they want and they don’t all feel the need to jump onto the servers at 3:01 and hit a dungeon, and by funnelling everyone into a small number of densely packed zones, rather than a large number of 4 player ones.

    Because Rich said last year
we will not hold another in-game event that requires the Activity Finder until we are 100% confident that the tool can support it. Stay tuned for details on that.

Clearly they failed to hold up to that statement. I would hope Rich or Matt will step up to the plate and maybe and own this while giving us an actual road map to fixing this issue once and for all. Maybe they need to set the bar a little lower than an absolute statement this time.

For those who want to read Rich's statement from last December I will link it below.
