The extra storage is great. I have zero interest in buying progress or power. But I also have almost 30k in crowns with nothing useful to spend it on. I've been sitting on crowns for a long time. I will consider the inventory pets.

Edit: Bought it. Down to 27k crowns until more slots are available or more inventory pets. Possible balance goes up higher if I re-sub before either of those items are released.

I don't see why not it's not exactly P2W. I mean we pretty have to pay for everything in this game now days anyways. It's just a matter of time before they make vMA / Master weapons buy-able on the crown store.

If anything it would be great if in-game gold could be converted crowns on the store. People are pretty much trading it with each other already.. Also we pay for pretty much everything already even things that should be free or bought with gold. So this would work nicely although zos would lose a lot of money doing it this way.. which will prob be a problem for them.

i dont think this is p2w nor do i care...at the same time looking at bethesdas history i have no doubt this is an acceptance test and monetization will only get worse... im kinda glad there are so many good games on the horizon ^^

5 inventory spots does help you win. It might save you an emergency trip to a vendor / decon station, but that is not winning, that is QOL.

Ever increasing amount of clutter with 2014 inventory limits presents such a massive time sink in form of dumping rubbish from inventory and shifting load between mules to make room for crafting on given character (or to just make that character playable) that reasonably active players may waste several hours per week doing just that, or literally hundreds of hours per year. If you fought somebody of (initially) equal skill who spent several hundreds of hours more than you (because he had infinite inventory and was free from doing aforementioned chores) on improving gear or simply practicing, even though overall he spent the same amount of time in game as you, you can bet he would have an advantage. If he paid for that advantage, here you go - P2W.

I'd contend that it's more "pay for convenience" rather than P2W, but it's a solid step in the direction of micro-transactions. It means that, rather than making the buy to play game we purchased convenient, they'll find further ways to make problems that can be solved by money.

...and if they start offering a potion that gives 10 slots for one hour and costs 50 crowns I'll invest in more tinfoil for my hat.

The boar is not luxury or P2W in my eyes, it is simply ZOS capitalising on game changes over the years by adding multiple new sets, adding new items, not addressing stackable items since launch.

Everyone know ESO is an engineered inventory management issue where it is essential to use an external addon to have any guess what your account has and to subscribe for extra bag space just to have some QoL, for any older players or any player who actually plays multiple characters of said account.

We're never going to get a game that is financially friendly to consumers when the playerbase thinks buying skill lines is fine, but 5 inventory slots is a problem. Why would ZOS even begin to design the game around friendly monetization models when ya'll cheer for the garbage and then cry about the minuscule stuff?

Guess ESO plus is p2w as well since you get a 10% experience boost and craft bag that cannot be gotten by other means.

If they do allow paid advantages over non-paying players (IE: Electronic Arts making the most powerful characters available via cash only) I'd be pretty upset.

The game is not headed for pay to win scenario and frankly, I'm glad I don't have to repeat the Psijic Order Questline again for one of my alts...I did it twice and was about ready to throw my controller out the window by the end of the second time running that quest.

No, I quit.
I do not think you quite comprehend the scale of it; cutting down unnecessary clutter itself has become over time remarkably time consuming, easily in order of hours weekly. God forbid you want to decon or give it some consideration before you dump garbage, then the overhead would soar. And if you cut down on cutting down, then you have full inv and can not function, there is no way out. ZOS has it well covered.

EDIT: furthermore, let me point out that players with low inventory limits are least efficient at cutting down unnecessary clutter, even when they a) want to keep the same amount of items as players with more space (i.e. also throw away the same amount) and b) that amount of items actually does fit in. The reason is that, because the difference between number of items they keep and the cap is smaller, they have to perform clean-ups more frequently as they keep hitting the cap.
If you do not have big enough inventory to keep all the clutter, you may end up throwing away worms several times during single session, instead of once after it ends. If it took player with a lot of (paid) space 10 minutes per week to throw away everything once, and you throw away each type of clutter 10 times, go figure.

You have always been able to buy inventory space with Crowns.

The pets add 5 slots, also bought with Crowns.

If you squint and look at it from a distance with your head cocked just so, at worst it’s “pay to increase inventory space by an infinitesimal amount”.

Not really sure how 5 inventory slots helps anyone to have a definite advantage so that they “win”.
