PC Controller Issues

I play with a PS4 controller on PC, and have just now in the last 10 minutes had some really weird, stuttery, stop/start movement when running or walking.

I tested it in a few other games and it seems to be just an ESO issues. Anyone else come across this today?

I use an Xbox controller and still get weird glitches all the time.

I had the same issue last night (I use ps4 controller on PC NA). Seems to be a new bug, and is makes combat effectively unplayable when active.

Basically all of the buttons work except the joystick responsible for moving the character’s position (didn’t seem to affect camera joystick). Basically anytime you activate an ability it freezes your movement in place for a second or so and then you can move again. It’s like being CCd by your own abilities every couple seconds.

When this happened it broke my gameplay for about 5 mins until I reloadedui and it was fixed. I really hope this is not going to be a new ongoing bug, because as mentioned this makes competitive gameplay impossible as you get frozen literally every couple seconds when affected by this bug and there is nothing you can do about it in combat.

I’ve had an issue similar to this where the analog stick for movement won’t go left or right after opening dressing room or combat metrics or kill counter. Reloadui fixes it but it’s a weird bug.

Moving diagonally works but straight side-to-side stops working.

At times, when exiting a door or at random, it’s like you said: can’t move at all like I’m stunned or something. Odd.

Xbone controller on pc. Oh CRAP, Indy lol. You know where I play lol.

I've been having frequent issue with my Xbox controller on PC lately. Turned off my add-ons one by one, turned out Port to Friend was the culprit in my case

Past two patches, sometimes only the left motion of the thumbstick stops working, which is extremely strange. Only left for me breaks. Reloadui fixes it, but still.. It is quite annoying when it pops up in a dungeon or trial, since reloadui takes several minutes each time.

i noticed this. it has something to do with your house... i lose the ability to strafe .. leave house and change character and its fine.. weird

It happens when you use a crafting station, more so when you craft multiple items. Reloading the UI is a temporary fix.

Why make it harder than it should be? Controllers make the game so much easier to do rotations

PC/NA xbox 360 controller. The only problem I've had is when my character is moving forward and stops, she keeps slowly drifting forward until I back her up a smidge. I haven't experienced any other issues.

Ok so this is a thing. Lol I have had it happen since the patch and I figured it was an add on problem because I would get it right after crafting something. Reload ui does fix.

PC XBox one pad.

Left joystick and d-pad.

I was discovering a set station in southern Elsweyr. Then teleported to do my daily crafting. Couldnt set materials to 50@150 at the jeweler workbench. Not with stick and not with d-pad. /reloadui worked

The one true best solution is contact cleaner. Not the kind for your eyes but electronic contact cleaner. Comes in a can.

Take your controller apart, sprays some down into the analog sticks, turn the controller upside down and let the excess drip off. Wouldn’t hurt to use some air in a can first once it’s open; but contact cleaner solves that.

Note: Contact cleaner helped with a shoulder button once too. Best to spray some all along inside it.

I have had the same issue since the last update. I use an Xbox controller and have had no issues before. Had to reloadui several times last night.

Agreed. I cannot stand playing ESO with a mouse and keyboard. It's why I left PC for console years ago when the game first released for X-Box. I only came back to PC when I was able to get a controller connected.

I personally can't say I've experienced this using my controller. I'll keep an eye out for it to see if it pops up.

Ds4Windows

If ever I get a problem with the Controller I have to restart the who computer.

It usually has to do with starting the game without the ds4windows and then starting it.

Or if I start the game with the ds4windows and then turn ds4 windows off.

But it works if I turn DS4Windows on and keep it on.
