Nerfs making newer vet content/game mechanics less accessible to the masses.

The majority of the PvE player base needs to learn to parse consistently if they ever want to run the end game content.

If players didn't had a consistent parse before, the nerfhold patch didn't changed that.

Players usually struggle with stuff that requires practice.

Your big fallacy is assuming that ZOS cares about midcore players. They don’t. The only thing they care about are Questers, PvP and endgame players (preferably playing on PC/NA). Everything else doesn’t matter.

I'm a mediocre player. I still have more than enough DPS to clear all vet content. I parse around 10k behind the top players on the 3/6m dummy and about 20k behind on the 21m. And you can be significantly worse than even that and still complete all vet content.

DPS hasn't been nerfed. It's the same as it was pre-Scalebreaker. If you could clear vet Sunspire in Elsweyr, you can clear it now too.

Older content should by all means get easier over time to allow more and more players to experiance it.

Any progression groups working and struggling with their first clears will be set back so badly i would be surprised to see that many of them survives.

    1. Older content does get easier, just not for inexperienced players. Everyone is free to experience it but that does not mean new players should be able to skip progression.

    2. When vMoL was launched in 2016, it took about 3 months before 1st group got the clear. Many of the progression groups took another 2-3 months to get the clear. And it was done with the gear and skills that compared to today are considered TRASH. So many Buffs/ Debuffs which are common these days did not exist back then. And if you look today, all the new trials after vMOL were cleared on the Launch day and rest many got their 1st clear within a week. So i t's not just the Old content but even the new one has become easier. But do you ask why? vMoL forced people to git gud and get out of the mindset that was Stack and Burn before. And people did. Those who still do, manage to do the end game content and get all achievements, those who can't well...Here I offer them FG1.

As far as the balance goes, it's not a linear change but depends upon skill/ gear and everything at a perticualar time. In no way I'm advocating that currently game is balanced or the way devs has been handling it for past few patches. Those who will adapt and move on will continue, those who don't will be left behind or eventually will leave the game.

Yes, the player retention is bad here and eventually probable the game will die, or somethign new will replace it. But that is NO EXCUSE to start giving handouts to players who do not want to or are not capable of putting in effort to achieve difficult tasks.

What handouts you are taking about? Did you read my comments, comprehension issues or are you talking to the voice in your head??

Did i ever asked for anything to be buffed or for free god slayers to be given???

I did not asked for single targets dots to be buffed last patch, in fact was 100% against it. ZOS did it despite majority of end game players telling them dont do it. Some individuals, maybe even you, as always were cheering up for them and making simmilar arguments as you do now. Now when they uterly destroyed st dots to the point where non will be used and on top of that they damaged sustain we have again a ZOS fanboys telling everyone they and combat team know better.

This is against all evidence and changes made by this dev team. It shows they have no idea what they are doing, they do not conisder impact of the changes blind swings is all they doing.

If you think clear consistent and conscious development plan for combat is a hand out than yes i want one.

Right now combat team alienated a large portion of medium to low dps players who no longer would be able to do what they were doing last 6 months. Top end players are more suited te deal with change and least affected but even them will get tired over time when everyting is flipped on its head every 3 months.

To be honest, I thought this patch would be worse than it really was. Sustain is cancer right now, that much is true (my bow/bow stamden who wasn't even using pots before the patch on the 21M dummy and still never went below 80% stam now barely makes it through the parse with pots), but in terms of raw DPS, after some minor adjustments (CPs, weapon enchants, rotation) the DPS loss was <5k on the trial dummy for all the chars I tested. In fact playing around with the builds on some of my characters resulted in significant DPS improvements (my magblade went from 65k last patch to 72k this patch with his "universal" dungeon/trial setup after switching up the rotation).

Keep in mind that the DoT nerfs were on the per tick basis, but most DoTs also had their duration increased by 2s, partially offsetting the raw DPS loss of the skills.

So is this patch a nerf? Yes, definitely, but it's not that big and you don't need different gear, so the adjustments you need to do, to do virtually the same DPS, are very cheap. All you need is to change skills (respecs are currently free), change weapon enchants (like 6k gold tops for 2 kutas on weapons with PC EU prices) and adjust CPs (3k).
