Sounds about right - about 2 hours ago I went to the Brothers of Strife wayshrine to do the jester quest, there was insane lag with 999+ ping over there.Went to Mournhold to grab pledges, talked to the NPCs, my ping spiked to 800 while I was returning and DCd.
I thought I was gonna get DCed for sure, but I got very lucky and somehow made it.
And of course there's also the usual: everywhere in major cities there are tons of invisible NPCs and players who take ages to appear on screen.
This is getting extremely tedious because the invisible NPCs still do have collision boxes, even though they cannot be interacted with in any other way until they become visible.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge0 -
