Trying to figure out the most efficient way(s) to achieve my in-game goals

Hi,

I am struggling to figure out how I should use my time most efficiently to (1) earn CP and (2) earn gold to achieve my ultimate goal of playing endgame pve content. I am currently at CP 321 with two enlightened characters: a templar and a dragonknight. I have fully leveled clothing, enchanting, woodworking, blacksmithing and provisioning. I'm considering making a third character to level alchemy and jewelry crafting.

How should I be focusing my time to maximize my CP and gold earnings per minute played? I'm not looking for the easy button but it should would help my drive to move forward if I knew I was making the most of the limited time I have to play the game.

If your goal is to play PVE content as stated, then just PLAY the content. Levels will come via questing. Use XP scrolls if haste is important.

Gold, IMHO, is secondary - as it is ALWAYS ticking with gameplay... but if you want fast methods - just do writs; maximize the fairly frequent Gold boosts via events; or farm via Thieving burner groups.

What I did was acquire full training gear, purple armor and gold weapons, used whatever monster sets I had farmed at the time. Did pledges, random normal, and a bg everyday. Quested when not in those instances and if I saw an opening to normal trials I took them to get easy gear.

Doesnt hurt to go full training since your dps will be mediocre until you get more cp anyways. I played mag so I bought mothers sorrow cheap off traders (it's only expensive when divines) and got a friend to craft me julianos in exchange for mats. My CP skyrocketed.

If it were me, I'd make the DK a tank and the Templar a healer and do the daily random and pledges on both of them
as I'm currently doing with a couple of my toons because I need them maxed in Undaunted. However some days the pledges are crapfests that I'd rather just skip, so I have frequent goof off days too(so much for my efficiency), lol.

    • Wear training armor at all times while you're leveling a character. For weapons it's hard to forgo having a good combat trait, but armor combat traits matter much less.
    • Take advantage of the double XP events (Witches Festival soon, New Life in December, Jester's Festival in the Spring, Anniversary event after that).
    • Consider power leveling via master writs.
    • Use XP boosts. 50% scrolls are given away free in daily rewards, and when you run out of those 50% drinks (Psijic Ambrosia) are pretty cheap to buy.
    • Do daily crafting writs for gold, other rewards, and a little XP.
    • Complete the main quest line, at least to the point that you're still picking up sequels (in most cases) at The Harborage. Skill points are good.
    • Do public dungeons. Skill points are good. Also, you get good XP.
    • Do Bolgrul's daily quests. Undaunted rep is good, and the first time through you get a skyshard and some XP.

Definitely worthwhile to do ALL daily crafting writs on all your characters so long as most don’t have skill points invested in carpentry, blacksmith or clothier (outside your main). Alchemy is sometimes a pass too depending on the ingredients needed and what you have. It isn’t much XP but the gold is good and it’s quite quick with the Lazy Crafter Add-On. This was recommended to me a few months ago when I started and I have been grateful for the tip — my most reliable source of income! :)

First of all, EVERY character should have maxed Alchemy due to Medicinal Use passive.
So no, don't make another character.

Second, gold shouldn't be an issue. It is not a requirement to play PvE.
It CAN help you unlock DLCs via Gifting.

    My advice: go farm vMA.
You will have to farm the weapons sooner or later, and it gives great XP when you farm.

As for gold, max out Alchemy and Enchanting, join two or more trade guilds and sell potions and glyphs.

I do crafting writs daily. But i have 18 characters. Thats over 70k alone a day from the quest rewards. That does not include the gold mats from the coffers and from refining survey mats, from recipes and from master writs.

Well over 110k per day in around 35-40 minutes.

You would get an easy 10k per day from writs alone on two characters that would take less than 5 minutes. Then do your daily random dungeon and BG for additional xp with a scroll running.

Clear all overland dolmen, delve and public dungeons and sell everything that is blue or below and decon purple.

Do daily pledges. Sell everything blue quality or less.

You can farm dolmen ans world bosses in zones that drop good loot for jewellery and qeapons like bangkorai, deshaan and malabar tor. Sell spriggan, seventh legion, spinner and mothers sorrow.

But honestly if you play content you enjoy the cp and gold will generqlly come pretty quick.

I'd focus on one toon for now. The templar is more versatile, and can be reworked to play any role. But if you like playing the dk better, then focus on that toon. Once you have your skills mastered on one toon, think about grinding up a second.

    For CP:
    • If you have no date in mind to e.g. reach CP 810 the most efficient way is to do the daily random dungeon with enlightenment, as that's 1 level/day until 700+ CP

    For gold:
    • Crafting writs, as the gold reward depends on your level, and not the level of the crafting profession, so e.g. your CP 321 characters with 1/50 in clothing will get the full gold reward doing a tier 1 clothing writ - and it obviously scales with the amount of writs you're doing + the amounts of alts you have

    Gold => crafting writs.

XP => in my experience, the best xp/minute ratio in the game is the Cyrodiil PvE dailies. Especially Bruma town. They're extremely quick to do and bring a lot of XP. Find an empty campaign, preferably off-peak hours, (you may still have a PvP encounter but it's rare), use XP scrolls/psijic ambrosia, and you'll see the CPs piling up in no time.
DO NOT do pledges, they're a waste of time when it comes to XP. The daily random normal dungeon is fine, though.

I'd recommend what I did: level 1 character for every class to lvl 50, level their class skills and optionally level Fighter's Guild/Mage's Guild/Psijic and Undaunted to max.

It takes quite some time to do it, but once you're done you can react to every broken class/combat patch ZOS is throwing at you, because you have all the skill available and just need to respec stats/skill points.

I agree, just play. If you save up for a set, by the time you get it, it will be nerfed into the ground. I wanted a full set of VO and Two Fang forever, and literally as soon as I got it, Relequen came out and AY got buffed and everyone said my VO and TFS sucked for trials!
