i haveing the same problem as you describe.
people know to come my direction and im miles away they aim right at me and follow me even though the "eye" for sneak is closed the whole time yet they somehow still seeing me miles away and come right to me.

I'm making a list of the players that can find me when I'm solo and in sneak. I thought about asking a couple of them what add on they using, but I figure they wouldn't tell me or deny it all together. There is one person in particular that can find anyone, anytime, anywhere somehow. (he plays blue in Kaal, just for the record....and the two other players doing the same seem to also run with this person)

At any rate, something is going on lately. This is not an issue I noticed happening until about a week ago. ....at least not since Miats was disabled.

    FYI

this set doesn't have a range on the stealth detection, its basically unlimited distance.

    Sentry

    LEVEL 50 CHAMPION 160

(2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
(4 items) Adds 833 Weapon Critical
(5 items) When you begin to crouch, gain Stealth Detection for 10 seconds. This effect can only be activated every 30 seconds.

...hmm, interesting. Thanks for the helpful reply. It could be this, although it did seem more like Miats was working again to me.

I guess I should have just asked if Miats was working again more directly.

Ir isnt a Addon, its called a Detectpot. Be in a Group, spread out. First uses Detectpot, calls out when it ended, next in Group uses Detectpot, until the last in Group has used his or her Detectpot, the first can use one again, easy

Nope. Detect pots make "your eye open". It's not detect pots.

If your stealth eye is closed and your are still being detected then someone is using a cheat engine. Detect pots will open your eye as will any of the other stealth detection's. I have broke line of site and a player has still hunted me down knowing exactly where I was. But, if you think ZOS will do anything about the cheat think again.

This like many other folks cheating has been a big problem however, the biggest problem is ZOS doing nothing.

no, thats not what we are talking about, that set i tested with a friend.
it only makes your character stand up when he pulls you out of stealth, its obvious you were pulled out of stealth by that set.

what we are talking about is that people are able to see us and know exactly where we are and its not pulling "us" out of stealth. the eye is not opening, and we are not standing up from it, nothing, its a direct knowledge of where we are and nothing is showing we were detected.

Yep, I was thinking this and tested this, all stealth detection sets/pots etc. will "open your eye" even if you are still crouched.

However, I did think of a legitimate way this could be happening. I'm going to test with a friend and see if I figured it out or not. If it's what I'm thinking, it's a bug that I will report....and it might not even be a bug, but I'd consider it one. If it's not what I'm thinking, it's a cheat of some kind.

Thank you for the helpful replies in this thread.

As others have said, for the simple fact that an enemy player is near, the battle music is a very useful cue. I think it also works with stealthed enemies. That obviously doesn't tell you where they are but from that piece of information onwards, it's the usual way of dealing with cloaked enemies.

Detect pots only expand your detect range, not your whole groups. And the pots break stealth, OP is still in stealth when the players come at them.

There are a few rare people that can do this.
It is super obvious when you are up in the hills by Nickel, scouting in stealth for 5 mins, and they make a straight line to you from door > forest.

    However!

    1. With lag, a lot of people think they are sneaking and cloaking and are breaking it without seeing that at their end.

2.If you have the game set to maximum view range it is very easy to catch the flickers out of the corner of your eye at great distances when someone enters stealth.

    3. Anyone who has played a nb knows every rock, tree and los opportunity in the game. They know where an enemy would be and just run there without seeing anyone. (I wish zos would load a different terrain map when campaigns reset...)

E.g. if someone says in zone they saw someone at Ash mine, and they're not there, I know exactly which nearby rock is best and usually yup, there they are.

If there was a hack or whatever there would be far more than a handful of people exploiting it -so Sentry set and other factors more likely.

and that's not including the dumb crap your own faction will do, like casting things that'll bring you out of stealth or running towards you when they're scared...

I just tested if tab targeting is bugged....it's not. When you stealth while tabbed, you do still disappear. So it's not a tab targeting thing either.

Some people are doing some fishy stuff again. It seems like Miats is working again or something similar.

...and the sentry set "opens your eye" too, just like all the other things, like detect pots and reveal skills.

After hearing mutiple times in the same campaign, on the same day, a sound each time i was attacked, i did some research into Miats options. It is that this option :

    - Enable attack notifications

once enabled really alert you when an enemy is going to attack you. Its only on Cyrodill. Not in BG,

As in my case this was more a panick attack button ( i was jumping each time) i simply disabled the option. Not because i am good at pvp, but as i said i was more panicked by trying to find my attacker than anything else.

I rather enjoy beeing attacked, fight or vanish, and/or die. This is pvp after all.

i still use the addon for the forward camps, buff pvp tracker, objectif tracker frame, and killing blow sound. As i dont kill people a lot at least when i succeed for one, i know it :P

So yes Miats is the one doing it.

SIDE NOTE : I do not know if this is normal or not, but as this addon was under the watch of ZoS and they did modified some part of the API some times ago, i think they would have reacted if this was still not authorized.

Something strange happened to me in Cyro today. Not sure if it's the same thing or not.

I was moving away from a keep, full sneak, eye closed. Saw a player a few meters away, did not engage. I wanted to join the rest of the group, not get in a fight. Still full sneak, eye closed. I moved to the side and not towards them, just making sure they weren't coming towards me. They started buffing up. Eye still fully closed. I started walking away, still in sneak. Suddenly I'm hit with Entropy while my eye was entirely closed. This obviously exposed my location.

How would a player hit me with a single target skill while I was undetected, not even close enough for the eye to start opening? I used no skill, just sneaking with lvl4 vamp.

Could someone just spam a skill key at the area in front if them hoping it'll hit someone in stealth? And would this be possible at all?

That was changed a long time ago. ZOS shut off the information in the API. You can still be notified of who is attacking you, but not if the attack is fired while they are in stealth. The rest of the addon is unchanged.

After reading more details my advice is too check some discord channels. I don’t think you’re gonna find the answer you’re looking for on this forum.

I can tell you, riding up to a resource with enemies in the flag, just saw for no apparent reason a NB of the enemy faction crouching on the side of the tower. Doesn't look like they buffed or even moved. They just flashed visible for a second as I was about 20m out. No one else seemed to see them as I was the only one that went there and I asked a buddy in discord and they didn't either so I just started spamming AOEs where they were and popped them out.

Just great coding and game performance
