With the upcoming Witches Festival and incoming wave of Hollowjack garbage flooding the guild stores it had me wondering, why not make clearly trash items account wide and no longer drop?
I know there is one camp strongly against account wide benefits, and in some regards I agree, but this is not a benefit, it is more overcoming a burden.
For instance:
If the Hollowjack motif was account wide and you have collected them all, the motif should then gets removed from the loot table and you have an increased chance of getting Hollowjack style traits. If the market is flooded with Hollowjack style traits they'll dry up pretty quick in daily writs should they sell under 15g.
That way, people that don't have Hollowjack yet can get it in the week with a higher drop rate chance, and we don't have to spend the next 2-3 months swimming in HJ motifs.
The same could be done with recipes, the garbage recipes. Garbage recipe - Any recipe that is sub CP160 and not unique (event / quest given)
If all Green tier non-unique recipes, all sub CP160 Blue / Purple non-unique were account wide for the simple fact that CP grade recipes that are not the highest tier will never get used ever again and Level 1-50 if alts had access to them can use them to craft their own food and level prov. Right now, as it stands, leveling prov is just a matter of spamming food out for no reason, and you don't even get to give it to the homeless.
It would be nice if 'garbage recipes' dropped at any level and once read never drop again. Doing daily writs and opening urns will eventually net you all the garbage recipes that you will never use anyway, and they'll never hit the guild stores.
The reason I'm opposed to trash filling up guild stores is because they are slow enough as is. Sifting through page after page of garbage is painful.
