Top DPS

So, with these past few weeks of pts and with all the testing being done, is there any idea of what the top DPS looks like for stamina and magicka?

Kinda undecided between stamden or stamsorc for next patch and maybe numbers could help me out.

Thanks for your reply!
P.s: console player here, can't test myself

Pretty sure sNecro and sSorc and MagSorc are the top but I could be wrong. I see less Youtube DPS Parses for this PTS than for any other ones.

I would be interested, however in how sWarden is doing.

I have seen these same results. Stamblade also at nearly 90k which puts it right behind stamsorc and stamcro.

I can’t say I’ve seen any Stamden parses this PTS, but it did get a couple buffs. Stam Sorc is definitely a strong option, and is looking to be one of the best DPS builds for Dragonhold.

77-82k full cheese stamden (depends on my LA ratio)
Rotation: subt rapid rapid subt rapid rapid subt netch/barb.trap /swap/ arrow barrage /repeat/
Cutting dive instead of rapid strikes when target is off balanced. Bear ulti when ready.

If you see any possible improvement leave a comment please. Thx.

    Details:
backbar: arrow barrage + 4 animal companion skills.
Front bar: subt rapid dive trap netch
    Ulti: bear
Cp: from the top of my head i would say
66 master at arms, 9 physical weapon expert, 52 thaumaturge, 49 piercing, 56 mighty, 38 precise strikes.
JWC traits: 2x bloodthirsty, 1x infused weapon dmg.
Weap traits: DW: nirn + precise + crown store poisons
Bow infused with weapon dmg proc.

P.S.: 2 handed got similar results. Cutting dive as full time spammable. Executioner spam at 25%.

Given that the animal skills give you a flat damage increase for each slotted at the time I would say the more on the bar with the spamable the more damage you will do, given you don’t need trap very often you could Slightly optimize it to have dots/buffs back at and full front bar with animal companion skills being that dots won’t be the main source anymore. Probably replace rapids with wings for minor berserk front bar and trap, barrage, and vigor + Utility backbar. Front bar would Probably be Sub, Dive, Wings, Netch, and another animal skill.

This perception is part of the problem that got us into this mess. Less than 1/10th of 1% of players will EVER hit anything close to 90K...yet that becomes the metric for "good" DPS. For the rest of the 99.99% of players, good DPS becomes something VERY different and begins to further limit content options and creates a constant attrition of enthusiasm...which ends up being good for no one.

Stamcro, stamsorc, and magsorc are all at the top. Everything else varies between slightly trash and total trash.

Not enough to be competitive, it seems to be somewhere between Magblade and Magplar, falling about 8% behind the top 3 in terms of solo DPS. In group content Warden DPS doesn’t bring anything to the table, while Sorcs and Necros both increase the DPS of their allies.

I main a magden. On live I'm currently pulling 52k DPS on a 6 mil dummy and 82k on the 21 mil.

    In 5.2.0 I was getting 43k on a 6 mil and I think 62k on the 21 mil.

    In 5.2.3 I'm getting 48k on a 6 mil and 72k on the 21 mil.

On live I've been able to get 48-49k DPS on a 6 mil with my stamblade and magblade. They're not even coming close in 5.2.3- my magden's doing much better, though I haven't really played stamblade in a while and I think the low DPS is probably because I haven't gotten the hang of the current stam DD meta.

Magdens are doing OK but I doubt the buffs will be enough to get them to a competitive level.

I've actually shelved my Stamden entirely. I'm a Stam Sorc main. It feels *super* bad on PTS. Clunkiest nonsense ever. Oh, the mob is off-balance? Let me abandon my entire rotation and spam birds until it's not so I can use this pointless, monotonous addition Zos added to a skill that is chained to a debuff with a CD so it screws my rotation at least once every 40s. It's honestly awful.

So basically the same way we all feel about the Heavy Attack vs Off-Balance mechanic? :D

I asked this in another thread but maybe a better fit here....

what makes Stamsorc so strong? in the logs all I see is weapon skills, and that could be any flavor of class sadly. SO as a new sorc what makes them so "good"?

It got a lot of changes, but not really buffs as far as parsing is concerned. Main spammable just lost a chunk of damage. Aoe dot gained a chunk of damage. Factor in the game-wide audit/nerf that affects all non-class abilities that magden uses and they lost out on more than they got (which was admittedly very little).

Netch buff was about the only actually good thing we got for our “identity.”

Worse, because it ties in with Stamden sustain somehow getting worse...by like, a lot.

I was easily sustaining a Sorc parse as Orc with Lavafoot on PTS. Redguard with Lavafoot was *rough* on PTS, and Orc + Lavafoot was basically out of resources at around 20%. It's absurd.

Sorcs have decent damage passives to begin with, plus passive damage from pets. Seems most abilities are either a dps loss to cast or unsustainable in a rotation, so these passive benefits really help their generic abilities shine more than other classes’.

So would you guys say that stamsorc/magden is a good combination to play in the next patch and in the future in general?
Basically stamsorc to pve DPS/pvp and magden to pve heal/pvp.
Or would you go for a Magplar instead of the magden?

Pretty sure magplar is the superior pvp option. Idk enough about healing to say which is better there, but I figure it’s roughly a wash between the two.
