We need more in game rewards

I very much enjoyed the recent rewards from the Dragon event! I do agree that I would like to see more attainable in game, either for completing achievements or available for gold after completing achievements. For instance, I would like to see a basic form of the common mount types, such as guar, available in appropriate zones. Perhaps if each chapter included a new one? It’s not like people don’t have to buy the chapter for the mount then. I liked how in GW2 each mount is available in game (and each has different movement abilities and animations) and then various skins for those are available for purchase (and they are dyeable). I can not argue that ZOS doesn’t do this in essence since anything besides a horse in ESO is purely cosmetic, but it would be lovely to see mounts improved upon. No, I don’t feel that flying mounts would be appropriate, although semi-flying / gliding gryphons like in GW2 might work and be more appropriate. Mounts happen to be one of the things I think GW2 implemented best and are what I’ve spent the most money on in that game (because they made some lovely skins that were directly purchaseable (not only in RNG boxes although those were options too) AND dyeable. :)

I do prefer the pets in ESO to the “minis” in GW2 and I don’t need them to do anything besides look cute and bring a smile to my face. :3 I would be glad for even more to be available in-game and even for Crowns; I am not buying RNG Gems. I enjoy my splurges but have my limits.

And then they won't be able to fund new DLC and the game will die. Please no. Keep the store cosmetic only and not p2w

    Who was suggesting that? :/

Edit: You mean if some sort of flying dragon mount were introduced and only available via Crowns or Gems? That would suck on multiple levels but I don’t think that is on the table, at least I hope not.

Who was proposing a P2W store?

The odds of this happening took a giant nosedive as soon as the game went f2p.

I'd like to see something akin to what we have for certain pets, like the grizzly tabby where you have component drops which give you something once you collect them all. Add the parts as drop in dungeons, delves, world bosses, dragons, etc.

That’s why I think it would be fitting to include with each chapter. There has been a lot of cool stuff included with Elsweyr and the current event though. :) I just think it would be nice to have a few more mounts attainable in game, could require achievements and cost a bit of gold like some furnishings do, and would replace the Gem Exclusive Crown store options, just extra rewards to work for for people who have paid something, for a chapter, for a DLC, for ESO+, etc.

While true, you could add a decent number of such rewards to DLC content that is already a crown store purchase. It'd be a way of making the content more attractive to people.

Better rewards for quests, dungeons, etc ==> More incentives to play more ==> More Time In Game ==> More potential sales and likelihood of more players.

    Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Simple enough, worth it all around. Keep the crown store and all that, but less forced for nice items. Incentivize more earnable in-game rewards that are more "standard" and not just restricted to events, etc. When you turn something in, there should be a decent reward. Give a few crown gems for example, or more outfits, a pet...not just "trash" and minuscule amounts of gold. Let the difficulty of the content determine a reward of course--just a small rework of the system so every task in the game we do should feel a little more "worth it". Even something as crazy as making some items from crown-crates earnable makes sense too. It also makes them seem less greedy by giving us choices instead of always locking really cool cosmetics behind pay walls. I am not saying make it easy, but again---difficulty based on item "value". Don't like it? Then you still have the option of RNG in crates for said item too (excluding weapons, p2w of course).

Everything is so focused on balance, and that is one big area that seems very low on the totem pole to balance, but seems it's a highly important one. What is the point of playing a grind if the end result isn't really worth it?

Anyway, this feels like another useless opinion of my own that will probably get nowhere fast, if ever (like the rest of us)...maybe if they changed things, that would be a larger amount spent that just my two cents. ;)

I've often thought that most of the "basic" mounts should be available in-game and perhaps at a fairly substantial gold cost while the more flashy or unique mounts could remain in the crown store. There are also plenty of cool outfit options already in the game that would be perfect for in-game rewards but probably not unique enough to merit crown store cost. These are assets already created by Zos and just need a bit of tlc and they would be ready to go.

I will say that many of the collectibles in Elsweyr really felt like a good balance, but then you see how many outfits/pets/mounts/mementos/emotes get added into the game via crates it can make you feel a little discouraged. I don't see having an even split between crate/crown store and in-game earned rewards would have much of an effect on their bottom line. People who aren't likely to buy crown store stuff still wouldn't be, but they might be convinced to put some extra time into the game. Their presence helps population numbers and in many instances puts them places in the game where they're essentially part of the content for the rest of the userbase.

For players who love crown store/crates stuff, I suspect they will still happily spend out on a regular basis as well.

Where I see a move like this benefiting zos the most, would be for those who are on the fence in regards to the whole system. I cannot speak for everyone of course, but I WANT to support zos and if I feel like that support were being respected I would feel more inclined to spend above and beyond my eso+ sub and purchase of chapters.

I don't think anyone believes that zos should simply give everything away for free, but there is no shame in suggesting some things that could be tweaked so that it benefits the players and zos.
