We need more in game rewards

Right now everything "cool" or worthwhile is in the crown store, I would really like to see this changed. Costumes and mounts can still be there but can we get more in game?

Maybe outfits and pets could be found fishing, mounts could be dropped by dungeon and world bosses (like in most other MMOs) and/or tamed in the wild, skins could be earned by more than just doing pvp or veteran content (but those should still have unique skins of their own). Maybe we could craft mounts and pets if they're constructs too.

Maybe our mounts could level up with usage as well as with daily training, which would encourage us to really roam around.

I want to find exciting things while exploring that can add to the visual and horizontal progression of my character.

ESO has such a big, exciting world, it's a shame there's not more to find.

And this is all coming from someone who is usually subbed to ESO +.

I like the idea that mount training could be advanced by actually using your mount. Having to pay through the nose for 6 fricken months to fully train your mount is just hideous....

More and varied things to find and discover also sounds good. There are many areas of the game that could do with a bit of imagination being applied to them.

My worry is that ZOS heard "We want more in-game mounts" and thought "Hey, we're going to give them mounts...in the form of 8 collectibles that they can collect over 3 months of events!"

The Indrik is a step in the right direction but in game mounts more organically connected to play, that you can fully unlock on the spot, would be a lot better.

The mount system needs work in general.

Imagine if we could have more control over the training. Level speed by running around, endurance by taking hits and crafting armor for your mount. We could craft our own saddlebags too...

Well, that certainly sounds easier to grind.

I'm having flashbacks to Skyrim and training heavy armor by letting giants smash me over the head with their clubs.

Flying mounts please (make the game a 3 dimension one !!!) also under water content!!!!! WOW does it. ESO feels like a small fantasy world almost all zones are the same. Also less cosmetic things for example the pets they are wortless we cant even make them fight each others like in WOW

ESO's physics doesn't support flying mounts or underwater combat.

That being said, I would love to be able to snipe flying mounts out of the air in Cyrodiil!

...and if the game had stayed subscription-powered, it would have been different.
But that ship has sailed, been set on fire and sunk a loooong time ago.
Now, they want all those crown store profits... so most of the nifty stiff will show up there.

    BUT!

Rejoice, they DID give out more goodies for questing lately! Outfit bits and other stuff with elsweyr quest completions, without having to buy anything in the crown store except elsweyr itself!
So... that is the best we can really hope for.

But yeah, I wish we could get more added like that, perhaps for the old content as well... (heck, I still think they really ought to remove all the "disguise" items upon quest completion, and add the visuals as costumes, it would lighten the load for many a inventory... I also would love to see all the stealable "civilian clothing" be deconstructable to learn for outfit system visuals...)

Nah. ESO is just not set up for flying around... it would require a lot of reconstruction of the world (to avoid grafic mishaps that look okay from the ground, but could be seen as "stzage props" from above,), and that simply is more effort then it'd be worth. It also would require a lot bigger invisible walls and that would mean a lot more physics calculations and that means a lot more lag. And they'd have to ban them in cyrodil altogether...

IF we ever were to get anything "flying mount" like, then it would have to be as "taxi service", like mentioned here:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/433317/suggestion-flying-mount-solution/p1

And we could (and hopefully will) get -floating- mounts like broomsticks, carpets, driftdisks, or other wizardly transportation options... which would be very neat for magica characters!

All in-game everything should be attainable only by in-game activity.

As far as training mounts, the nice thing about the way it is now is that you aren't training your mount, you're really training your character, such that the effects of the lessons apply across the board to all of your current and future mounts.

If the training applied to the actual mount and how often you ride it or how much trotting and jumping you do with it, would that mean we'd have to "level up" each individual mount after we get it?

Ideally no. It could still be your character learning better riding technique.

There is the optional sub. If ESO+ were more attractive maybe more people would use it. That would take some of the financial burden off the store.

Honestly though I don’t need the store to have less, I need the game to have more.

What's the point of flying mounts when there are so many wayshrines? Flying isn't a thing in any of the tes games. Also WoW battle pets has not been a thing for THAT long.. those cartoony things would not suit ESO at all and plenty of people like the way pets follow them

I mean, why? Is it because you find the rewards lacking or you finish every rewardable action and you want more?
Honestly, i think the game is rewarding enough, more would be like one of those oversaturated Korean MMORPGs.

Don't want or need flying mounts in ESO, the wayshrines are more than suitable for getting around easily.

This game has a terrain that is fun to explore and with wayshrines easy to zip around. Flying mounts aren't necessary in ESO.

A game needs to be written for flying from start or it will suck. Look at WoW.

Wayshines generally work fine but for some odd logic Elsweyr nerfed em. My guess they thought the dragon and boss spawn times alone would not make people sufficiently annoyed so better make people ride same routes again and again and again and again and again and again and again and instead of only waiting next to wayshrine.

Biggest issue with this game is the world is dead dungeon trial quest outside that nothing to engage fishing useless boredom no unique fish not i caught the biggest one etc. Costumes that we get like 6th house are so horrible. I wanna tame a cool color horse or indrik tame a spider gain welwa mounts save the beon reskins for crown bs

I wonder how long they will keep the game without a big core revamp. Players will eventually notice that the only thing new they have to offer besides annual new zones and 2 dungeons are reskinned horses.

The problem with something like more mounts being in the game is that people would then buy fewer mounts in the store. This is the inevitable consequence of people wanting everything free and not being prepared to pay a subscription. I appreciate that the OP is a subscriber, but plenty aren't and it's reasonable for ZOS to find other ways for them to contribute to the game's revenue without disincentivising them from doing so by putting everything in the game anyway.

I may be odd but if I felt I could get a fun mount collection going through in game activities I would feel more inclined to add to it with the occasional store purchase. As is, I rarely buy store mounts, despite getting the monthly allotment of crowns.

Heck, some mounts, outfits, etc could be added as awards for content that is already DLC and, hence, store purchases.

I’d be happy if they just changed the type of mount you could get every season, instead of four different skins of an Indrik I don’t even like. I have no motivation to do events with how the system is currently.

Or even better, a faction loyalty system like wow’s. I still remember grinding loyalty for a good month and loving it knowing I was going to be rewarded with the first flying dragon mount.
