Well since Jester's event the forums randomly exploded in angst and rage how long events are lasting and how unnecessary it was for any and all events, no matter if pve or pvp to last longer then a week or two ...

It’s a glorified exp buff week, not much new to earn in the first place and you get tickets from doing basically nothing.

Bonus xp is nice when you've leveled several other characters and just want one or two more- there are motifs and new recipes.

LOL! Some people complain about everything! If long because it's long, if short because it's short, if middle duration, it should be longer or shorter. My God!!! They always find something to complain about.

Can't have it all. For me personally my favorite events are the Witches Festival because spooky, the Jesters festival because the fake leaders are the most hilarious characters in the entire game, and Midyear Mayhem or whatever Cyro event we might have because I love seeing new people finding out hey like Cyro PvP, double AP, and lots and lots of fights which makes the time out there even more fun. All of these could be on the longer side and that would make me happy. But I recognize that my personal favorites might be someone else's least favorite. I don't necessarily want to have events for heists and things be longer because I cannot stand them myself. And I for sure don't want an event going on every day of my life so if that means one week max on ALL events, thats fine (but I do need a few events a year with double xp for leveling baby characters)

Hey guys, this faceless corporation filled with investors and tons and tons of capital from previous ventures needs your hard earned money. Don't ask why just rent these digital assets (you dont buy them. You rent them.) That cost tiny fractions of the development cost but that shouldn't stop us from charging the initial price the game cost for them.

This is probably true, unfortunately. While the game is still amazing, the monetization has become worse and worse over the past few years. So much so that events are very obviously cash shop traps now rather than genuine celebrations of the game or its community. It's not just them trying to push Elsweyr and DLC content, it's suckering people into buying event tickets too.

The best solution is to stop caring, but unfortunately fear of missing out is a powerful psychological tool that has been abused by marketing masterminds since... well... since marketing existed, honestly.

It was.

Also, last year, because the Anniversary was extended due to EU server issues during the Jester's Festival. But, the Anniversary just kept going for over a month. That was too much.

Perhaps its a time zone thing or a mistake one day more or less, but wether it lasts to the 3rd or to the 4th - it is still undeniably longer than a week. So... why this thread?

This seems a little extreme, but I think the idea is that players feel there are too many events. And honestly I don't think it's the events that annoy people, it's their human behavior that does because they feel the need to participate in every single event.

I’ve leveled plenty, and trust me, we have more than enough exp scrolls from the login rewards to last for ages. The Glenmoril Wyrd style will be nice, but if it’s like Dremora you’ll find it cheap and everywhere not a week after the event is done.

There are things I do. One of which is - I do NOT start Christmas until after Thanksgiving is done (this is US, as that's where I live....)

Serious. I absolutely refuse to do anything about Christmas until I'm done with Thanksgiving - and the cleaning up thereafter. The first thing that happens after is husband strings the outdoor lights. And then - and ONLY then - do I start thinking about what I need to order for whoever.

I absolutely DETEST retailers doing Christmas in October. Which is.... yeah, I'm just one person. But I do have my pain points, and the "moving holiday buying" forward for months is one of them.
