The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now available.

Is the 5.2.3 increases to dot damage an increase from the original decrease in the 5.2.0 update note

Yes, I believe that is the case. Decrease by 50% then increase that new base by 20%

ZOS in the last week PTS notes said that the new change to dots this week will be around 33% weaker than live. But their math is off a little. First week PTS decreased dots by 50-60%. Increasing those values up 20% does not make them now 33% weaker than live, but closer to 37-38% weaker.

    Example (100 * 0.5 = 50) week 1 PTS
    ( 50 * 1.2 = 60) week 4 PTS

Overall a 40% reduction from what is on live. I guess its a good step in the right direction.

Just got off PTS. My entropy on live hits around 30,000 tooltip. My PTS build with same exact setup hits around 17900 (18000) --> 40% weaker than on live.

So is it an overall decrease of 30% of live?

    (100 - 50 + 20 = 70)

Or is it more like 40%?

    (100 - 50% = 50,
    50 + 20% = 60 [An overall decrease of 40%])

I know the math is confusing, but I am confused by the patch notes.

for whatever reason entropy and soultrap recieved less of a buff than other dots

Destructive Touch: Increased the Damage over Time of this ability and the Destructive Reach morph by 33%.

Entropy: Increased the damage of this ability and its morphs by 20%.

They were buffed to be equal with aoe dots

Wall of Elements: Increased the Damage over Time of this ability and its morphs by 20%.

So single target dots are doing 33% less damage than on live except soul trap and entropy which are doing 40% less than live

So I guess we should expect damage ticks of around 550-650 every 2 seconds in no-CP PvP...That's simply not good enough, and becomes utterly worthless when going against dedicated healers or cleanse-heavy teams. Since some builds are absolutely forced to use Entropy for Major Sorcery in PvP (cost of potions is simply too high when compared to the level of income one can expect doing BGs), that ability needs to get looked at. Either raise the damage back up, or remove it entirely and drastically improve the utility.

They received less of nerf than other dots in first iteration. Reason is difference between full DoT skill and direct damage + DoT skill.
