Is the next storyline / chapter in Skyrim / Solstheim?

So we had
Orc
Altmer
Dunmer
Khajiit
Argonian
expansions leaves open

Breton
Nord
Redguard
Bosmer
and maybe Imperial

- We just had a warm / deserty climate with Elsweyr so i think the next one is gonna be different
- besides, i think they will time a Breton/Redguard chapter before / around the release of Elder Scrolls 6 which would make sense for marketing
- the new life festival includes a Skaal (Nord) armor / weapon set
- Solstheim has the right size for an expansion and was already a location in 2 other elder scrolls games
- Solstheim contains a lot of new creatures that are at the same time variants of existing creatures so it would mean less effort on zos side to design completely new things
- Since Solstheim was still largely not colonized in the second era it could be cool to be sent their into an unknown wildland to explore it...which gives you much more that adventurer and elder scrolls feeling

maybe there are some hints about the next location in the dragon hold storyline?

You've included Argonian but all that was added was a small zone. It wasn't an expansion the same way Orsinium, Elsweyr, Summerset and Vvardenfell were. And if you're counting it then Imperials and Redguards have had them too with Hew's Bane and Gold Coast

yea true...makes it even more likely that the next one is Nord...

The great thing is that the bards college is in solitude...so i can hold onto the 0.01% probability that we might get a bard class or skill line ^^

The story could be that you are a novice bard that is sent with an expedition force to explore solstheim and chronicle their adventures

Is it? I thought it was in Solitude in Skyrim? I thought Solstheim at the time of TES3:Morrowind was basically just becoming part of the "civilized" world?

I think there was info datamined some time ago regarding Western Skyrim so if they do add Solstheim it could be part of larger story involving that. I don't see Solstheim being a chapter like Morrowind, Summerset and Elsweyr and more of a zone DLC like Murkmire.

Sincerely hope so, it would be awesome.

Me myself have been playing exclusively Skyrim since like mid June, I'm on my third "different playthrough" atm. I'm soon done with it, and it feels really sad to leave that whole world behind. I'm returning to ESO when I'm done with "everything" this time, but I sure will miss Skyrim. Having a Solstheim DLC would be perfect, patching up my sorrow for leaving Skyrim again. ;-)

There's not much on Solstheim right now in the Second Era. So it's more likely central Skyrim chapter and the Reach DLC for Sryrim leftovers we have.

that makes sense...maybe a portion of the story or the conclusion (exploring ancient dragon cult ruins etc.)

man i'd be so hyped about a bard class....even when i know a lot of people being rather kinda negative about new classes...

but a bard's college skill line is probably more likely...

Maybe solstheim could be a homestead chapter, where you join a group of nords as they head off to found the Skaal village and you help them build it via the housing system.
So the whole village is like a neighborhood and you help decorate and build structures and such. Could include some crafting based dailies, and a lengthy process to build your own house.
Maybe help the imperials establish their fort there?
And the DLC could be the sheogorad islands north of Vvardenfell ^^

No thanks, please keep Sims aspect of game separated from story.

Solstheim is a bit small for a chapter zone...I could see it potentially being a Q4 DLC though.

I imagine that the chapter zone couldprobably end up being a large chunk of Skyrim like Whiterun, the Pale, and Winterhold combined together. We'll know soon enough as I'm sure that Dragonhold will drop some hints regarding the future storyline/content. I do remember some hints regarding going to Skyrim from a NPC in Northern Elsweyr.

Solstheim would be a small DLC like Murkmire/Dragonhold. I think Solstheim will be the DLC in 2020 alongside a Cyrodil expansion.

If Elder Scrolls 6 is in Hammerfell/High Rock, marketers could see releasing ESO content in that area as product overlap rather than cross-product marketing. This actually might put pressure on the timing of either

Bosmer and Breton would be tough since Valenwood/High Rock were almost completely covered by the basegame. There's always the Reach for Bretons, at least, though Orcs have so little basegame presence

Skyrim might be likely just because it's been a while since Todd released a new Skyrim port ...

Going by popular requests, in-game hints and the size of previous chapters on the map I would suspect that next year will be Winterhold and The Pale with Blackreach. But there are other factors that could make the area covered much larger, such as all the mountains in Skyrim being made impassable.

There's also that Riverwood White Hen picture. The way Riverwood was recreated so faithfully, even down to the busted cart by the forge. What if they recreated the whole of the remaining area of Skyrim to that level of detail as a kind of homage and a last hurrah for the decade of TES:Skyrim.

This thread shows Riverwood in TES and in ESO:

would be kinda cool...skyrim is quite some time back

i also still want that ancient nord armor from skyrim...

and it would also open room for a vampire-dawnguard storyline and armor... dawnguard was the best story + companion + armor...so that'd be cool.. . and a chance to maybe expandon the vampire skill line... - choose dawnguard or vampires...

you could also kinda mix the companions with the dawnguard storyline - having a wwolf vs vampires story and you having to choose one side... would shine some light on these skill lines and be comething completely different from dragons...

The Gold Coast doesn't count as Imperial. The Dark Brotherhood is the focus there. Not even Cyrodiil is about them.

    We need some Imperial love.

dont forget that the imperials have been kinda involved in many of the storylines somehow...so they have always been present... i also think they make better enemies or background factions in elder scrolls game than "center pieces"

Yes, and that's the issue. They never get focus. They are either some minor side piece or enemies, which I find a pity since they do deserve and fit to be center pieces.
Not to mention all the troubles they have had and still do, leaves a lot of opportunity for a great story.

I want my Niben Bay, not more boring Skyrim.

At this point, yes, or no. We have no basis to speculate yet. Dragonhold may have a hint to next year's story.
