Or they can stay at the same location and wait for respawn?
Literally did this on a room with maybe 6% mount speed. Got tickets first try. Dragons aren't going down in seconds, the fights are still reasonably long (both on NA and EU rn).

Like so many times while reading posts on these forums I wonder if the poster and I are playing the same game...
I just killed a dragon, luckily I was in the vicinity. From the time I saw it land until it was dead was at MOST 20 seconds...

Delve bosses maybe. If they spawn that is. A lot of the time, they don't.

Although if people camp all the sites, then the rotation should go pretty fast?
+1 gazillion
The way new players are utterly shafted by the rancid ‘mount’ system is a total disgrace.. Everyone at ZOS should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves that this is still a thing. These are the very players who should be given every incentive to get into the game and you are treating them like scum.
Watch as they trot at zero speed to arrive only as the dragon dies.. or try gallopping the entire length of Aridon to get to the Witches Festival on a no speed mount.. they might actually get there by the time the event ends if they ‘git gulloping’ right now...
Mounts should be born with triple sixty bonuses.

I had one dragon a few minutes ago where I was already close and still missed it... Guessing everybody was camping that spot, as it was near Starhaven. Really shocked me. xD
But yeah, running on a new char that's painfully slow. Often I can even get both dragons when they spawn seemingly at the same time (likely that most people started with the same dragon as me, so second one was under attack but barely).
Most of the fights are 1 minute plus, some more. Dragon goes into up-phase twice usually -- sometimes only once, sometimes more when it's particularly slow.
Maybe I got lucky instances...?

Nah, I stalled quite a bit yesterday when dragon showed up, I gathered some nodes on the way, listened to some quest dialogue and I still made it to the party when dragon had over half of it's health left. Don't sweat it.

The North dragon is always heavily camped (and as a matter always has been even outside the event) so expect it to go down very fast. On the other hand, once it is dead nothing keeps you from getting in time to another of the 2 remaining dragons. Even if you miss #2 because it landed at the same time as North, then head to #3 before it even spawns.
