I mostly weave stories. It’s what I do in any RPG as storytelling is the point of them. And there is near limitless potential for that in this game.

On occasion, dungeons. I like cooperative PvE and wish more games supported it.

If you're so narrow you only want to play one class in one way and don't care for the story of the game, I doubt that there is anything in this game that can interst you anymore. I suggest a new game.

Or perhaps challenge yourself and try another class or try to play "your" class in a different way. If you're ot interested in the story, not much to say there I'm afraid.

I'd recommend PVP.. BGs is a lot of fun especially if you can grab a group to run with.

Try some different builds.. Just because you have a meta build doesn't mean you can't mess around with some off the bat ones that use different sets.

Create a new character.. Maybe magicka if you're used to stam or vice versa. Each one is a different combat experience.

Personally I do absolutely everything from 100% map completion to achievement hunting, pvp, housing, vet trials, roleplay and book hunting.

Sounds like you should find a group and dive into the more interesting vet content (vHoF, vCR+3, whatever).

I have not played in awhile and came back to see if there is anything to do. I went to the top 5 websites of top Dragonknight tanks which is what I play and after all this time my gear is still Meta, so nothing to do there, I thought well I could hunt for sweet mounts but can't seem to find any other tan cash shop, I have a sheet ton of gold but can't find anything to spend it on like mounts or other cool stuff, The trials make me laugh because they give you gear that the bonus only helps in the trial that I already completed to get the gear to help in the trial I already completed to get the gear....you see where I am going with this, so no real reason for that.
So I run around the world killing stuff to watch it fall over...well that is kinda boring, so my question is what am I suppose to do at this point? Where do I go to find outstanding stuff or rare items? Help me find a reason to play. And trying other builds is even worse I have a build that can do everything so a new build to do everything is really redundant.

Trial gear is effective in all content, it is extra effective in dungeons, trials and arenas. That is quite useful.

If you have completed every dungeon on normal and vet and hard mode, every trial on normal and vet etc, all arenas on normal and vet, managed no death speed runs across this content, taken out every world boss, all delvs and public dungeons, completed the hundreds of ours of story, have all the gear you want in gold with optimised enchants and traits, have a house pimped and looking awesome...

Then there wont be much left for you unless, like so many of us, you simply enjoy playing ESO with like minded people for the sheer enjoyment of the game play, the customisation, the rich story and lore, the escapism, the community.

I mean, make a new character. I have 15. Some have 50. The process of theory crafting and learning a new class/race, the build, the look etc, the farming of the gear you want etc... this is one of the main things in ESO I enjoy.

So complete all of that to watch stuff fall over or is there new stuff that you can get like mounts?

It doesnt sound like you enjoy playing ESO, so if that is the case I advise moving along and playing a different game.

However there are lots of new motifs, mounts, pets, house items, armour sets.

Ps, if you think stuff just falls over in vet dlc trials, think again. Or for that matter, vet dlc dungeons. As I mentioned, try hard modes as well. It really does sound like you have actually only scratched the surface of the game.

I do quests, read books and explore. I love the storytelling in the environment, the way you stumble upon interesting sites that tell a story.

I did that very thing when I started last year. First toon I started from the original zones and did all the quests etc and then moved to the next. After all that I started raiding etc but ran into the doing the raids to get better gear so I could raid more loop. Not into PVP, Housing or Fishing. I had two toons by that time and they both got large nerf bats so quit. I've been trying to find a reason to play like this poster is but haven't so far. Came back for Elsewyr completed it then left.

It's a great game I love the lore, the zones look great, the attention to detail in the scenery is awesome. But then came Elsweyr with the locked houses so I fear newer zones will be even worse. I suppose I'll resub at some point and maybe just run all the zones again with a newby toon.

I understand. I got stuck in the same loop of being so concerned over obtaining the gear to be a better raider, and it did ruin some of the fun for me. I took a break. I'm not focusing on trials/gearing up at all right now, just questing, farming recipes, and planning for my house.

    PEE-VEE-PEE :)

    or Housing.

    The only 2 reasons I still log-in.

PVE is a joke. I don't care for achievements unless they offer something cosmetic.
I tried my hand at fishing but was quickly bored to tears.

Maybe you could start over with an entirely different character? Something as far removed from a Tanky DK as possible, squishy Mag-Sorc maybe?

Like many theme park MMOs, this one becomes more like a sandbox after you have played a certain amount of time. Either you start creating your own content or you move on until the next expansion hits. PvP is a natural theme-park => sandbox progression track , but in this game, the lag and DCs have made that unenjoyable, for me at least.

Personally, I've found that helping new players, leveling new characters, and trying to solo group PvE content has kept me going over the years. However, with the massive buff / nerf swings from the combat team, as well as the feeling that all my characters are all less capable now than they were this time last year, I'm spending much less time doing any of that and much more time looking for a replacement MMORPG that will take me through the next five years.

    Pvp, specifically bg.

But, until they tell me to stop killing dragons, that is what I will be doing for now.

    I dont even like cats.

How could you note like cats? They taste great with the right kind of sauce.

That's it right there, I'd still be playing if it wasn't for that. I started with a pet sorc, crappy gear and spammed crystal frags like there was no tomorrow. I then learned about rotations and weaving and slowly upgraded my armor to work just right. Got pretty darn good. I hit about 700 CP and rolled a DK tank and loved it did the same thing, improved then came the SnB nerf and then came the sorc nerfs. I tried just strolling around helping people, did a lot of guild trader stuff and donated millions to my guild. I've thought about signing back up and rolling a new toon but not willing to spend the time only to see the playstyle change again. I've been googling new MMORPG's also and nothing coming up yet but hopeful. My opinion is it's the PVE versus PVP balance ZoS is doing their best to appease both sides of the isle but it's not possible. It's a good effort though but ruining the game for PVE'rs.
