To be honest I like it more than most apex mounts. Also it looks like I have higher color saturation in my settings since on my screen this mount is like on fire in sunny areas. This is the second best gem sink after the gloam wolf. Love it!

I WAS going to buy the new Stripped version, but I already have the CE version and I am not a big fan of the running animations.

And that's exactly what's wrong with it. If you could buy it with EITHER crowns or gems, I wouldn't mind. Save some cash by using the unused gems you've accumulated by opening crates, OR spend some money on crowns ? I'd be totally fine with that. Well, not "totally", because generally speaking crates and their randomness make me grumpy and I think we'd be better off with direct purchases, but you get the idea.

But the ONLY way to get it is gems ? Well ZOS, you just made sure I'm never ever going to buy a single crate again. I wouldn't want to encourage that kind of practice.

If it were up to me they could just remove the crystals all together. Most of us already pay a sub why make us spend a load of additional money on top of that for mounts from crystals while bugs go unfixed? I just bought a house and expecting in february so no way in hell would I spend money on a bunch of crown crates..If it were for crowns atleast I could use my sub crowns on it..Really makes you feel the difference between loaded people and less fortunate ones here..

Can't even afford buying a house (I assumed you meant a real life one, as that's what I'm talking about here). I love what I do in life, but it's not the kind of thing that will provide a steady income. No one lets people like me borrow money. I'm doing fine, I can pay the rent and whatnot, but owning a house IRL is totally out of the equation because my income varies too much from a year to another, and banks get chilly with that. My money's on the occasional ingame manor, then :P

Still, that mount is more expensive than most ingame houses, and as expensive as the most expensive manors. That's insane.

The brown cat from Elsweyr's CE will probably return permanently in June with the release of the next chapter, like CE items from Morrowind and Summerset did.

It's insane to spend 200$ on a virutal mount. I would have never done that. Not because I can't afford it, but because it would be against my common sense. For what purpose you need it? To look at it on the character screen for 10s before I go into a dungeon or battlegrounds? I will rather wait for new chapter and buy Elswyer's collectors upgrade next year. Oh wait, a cat will be smaller? That's just a marketing and I don't need to compensate anything in the video game.

I dislike my senche-raht. It’s big, clumsy, noisy and stupid and I wish I’d never laid eyes on it. I like the big cat mounts because they’re quieter than horses so I’ve bought one with a skull mask from the gem store to use instead.

Agreed. I have it set as the mount for one of my alts, and it looks cool, but rides like a bear, in my opinion. That alt is pretty low level, though, so I'm hoping it will improve a bit as I add to mount speed.

Don't give up! I always thought I would never be able to buy one but after 28 (boohoo so close to 30) years I was finally able to! Try to check online loans they are sometimes a bit more expensive intrest wise but more likely to give out loans also!

I really don’t understand their attitude towards this - it’s very odd. And does not make business sense.

If they put these things in the crown store at a decent price, many would purchase the extra crowns to buy them.

Putting them in the fecking horrendous ‘gem store’ and forcing people who might want that mount (or whatever) to purchase their dubious ‘surprise mechanics’ loot boxes to perhaps get it, or then use their ridiculously inept exchange rate to change SOME (not all) unwanted items for a paltry amount of gems is actually not good business practice as all it does is annoy.

It makes me think they got some dubious marketing ‘consultant’ in who either dazzled them with jargon or got the job through connections not merit, and now they have to deal as best they can with a bad situation.

Annoying customers to the point of not wanting to spend money? Plus negative PR? Bravo. Well done.

IMO every zone in the game should have at least one mount and pet tied to that zone which can be purchased for in-game gold at the stables and / or obtained by completing the zone story and / or achievements.

The crown store ones can always have extra racing stripes or glow in the dark markings or whatever induces the 'ooooooooh looook at meeeeee' types to spend real money, but at least make basic versions of various zone / racial mounts available through in-game means.

From a lore perspective, isn't it a bit weird to use them as mounts if they are sentient beings? Unless they consented to being a mount for someone else and didn't mind it.

Congratulations!!! I don’t know when or if I shall be able to get a house in real life, especially what I would really want, away from noise and light pollution and so many people... At least I have that in ESO, along with the home library I’ve always wanted! I don’t otherwise spend on a lot of things, MMORPG’s one of my main hobbies and less expensive than many, and I was happy to buy lovely mount skins in GW2 and lovely homes in ESO, but some things here are overpriced and most especially I find the way the Crown Crates and Gems work to be very off-putting and so have not bought a single one. I know many people enjoy the Crown Crates and they must make good money for ZOS, but I wish they added more options for those of us not interested in that purchase model.

I have wondered about this too! GW2 doesn’t have a sub, only expansion purchases every few years and their version of the Crown store. They sell Crate-equivalents and some items can only be found there (at least when first introduced) and some drops are account bound but many of the better drops can be sold. I still rarely bought any except as part of package deals because the RNG is what you’d expect, BUT most options were available by direct purchase and maybe $20 for the premium mount skins. Going by what I saw in game, lots of people bought them — I did as well. Would that model not work for ZOS and the Crown store (esp. since they also have sub option)? Of course, I have no idea whether it worked for ANet either.

It would be nicer if every crate you open awards a few crystals as a standard currency or something like that! Open 1 crate always get 10-20 crystals or so

I'm torn on them. I think they move weird. But I love the kitty mounts so feel compelled to have them all. I would LOVE one with the hair poof and markings like Sanzagh from the Love and Guar quest. He is the cutest fancypants floofball I have ever seen lol

I got the chapter one for free with my Elswyr purchase, so I didnt realise that. Yeah seems like a complete rip off, well so much that is in the Crown store is. I genuinely think if they lowered prices to a reasonable level, MORE people would spend money.

As for the topic, I stopped getting gem exclusives when they stopped giving me free crates....That's when I stopped buying crates too. Sometimes I'd get a couple to get more gems for a purchase. I miss crates.
