Queuing for Dungeons - Takes forever. I have a fix.

I have several characters lvl810 and no full monster sets. Why? Because queuing for dungeons takes FOREVER!! Even when trying to queue for dailies it just takes way too long. So, I think there should be another option for "Queue All as DPS". Sure this is totally against the history of MMORPG games, but geez, I would be willing to go into a vet dungeon with three other totally bada** DPS characters instead of with a Tank and Healer if it means I wont have to wait 40 minutes.

Sure it would be tougher to complete some dungeons, but having just the OPTION to go in as part of a 4 man DPS group, would be great. Besides, I bet more than 80% of all characters created in game are DPS anyway with maybe the remaining 20% splt between Tank and Healer. That would definitely speed things up.

Just let me hire a guard to go in and tank everything while I burn the boss.

I've been advocating for an option to queue without regard to role. If you select this option you could get any combination of group roles. The queue would prioritize the traditional group make-up first and try to stick you (assuming you are DPS) with a healer, tank and DPS. If the group can't be filled in this way after a few seconds it would just grab the next available player who has opted for allowing a non traditional group and stick you in with them.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Whilst I don’t do it, I whole heartedly encourage others who can to (just try not to get yourself killed when you sprint ahead to the end boss). Especially if it means shortening the queue for the rest of us who cant anyway.

It'll never happen. Reason why it takes so long in the first place is because the overwhelming majority of people in queue are queued as DPS while waiting for tanks/healers. Those tanks you speak of would be instantly teamed up with two waiting dps players.

Before dungeon queuing was a thing, we just used zone chat to LFG in Undaunted hub locations or just ask friends and guilds. Problem solved. Guess we've gotten too lazy or spoiled.

I promise you you would go in with 2 bad DPS and miss your tank and healer a lot more, then come back here with "I would prefer to wait 1h to get a proper group.".

How do I know this? Well.. It used to be like this. When you could go in as whatever... Same poop, different toilet.

then everybody should be able to stay alive while you slowly hack away at evil doers. Chances are though it will be four DPS or three DPS and a healer. Still whatever you get it beats fishing while waiting for the queue.

Some friends and I did that once on vet CoA 1. Nobody died, but it took over an hour.

Dont dare to encourage this. The times goes longer whne we have to kick the fake tank, or the fake healer and get another. I specially use to kick them before the last boss, to make them repeat all the dungeon.
The legitimate way to make times shortesr is queue as a tank. Period.
If you queue as fake tank you are cheating not only the three players in your team, but the hudreds of players that was before you in the DPS queue.
Dont dare to lie to yourself triying to believe that you´re favoring someone queuing as fake tank---

If you want to seriously farm a dungeon, make a tank.

You don't even need to make a new character.

If you have a StamDK / Stamden you can make a Vet grade tank without having to change your attributes / skills around.

20 in HP 44 in Stam, use Tri-stat food for tanking and Lava foot for DPS. 44 Stam + Lava foot is essentially the same as Max Stam + Dubious.

Then level out sword/board. Buy plague Dr (or farm ebon) and craft Torug (or farm a decent tank set). Put skills in tanking orientated trees. Keep CP as DPS. Then use an addon that swaps skills/gear easily. Click of a button and a food change, and you can convert to a tank/dps at will.

Doing that, you can turn an StamDK / Stamden into a respectable tank that can manage vet content well.

Better still, is if you are doing a dungeon that does not require a tank, or the group is good enough, you can always swap back to dps when you are in. Example, last boss of Vet ICP is actually easier with 3 DPS 1 Heal, but getting to the last boss is easier with a tank.

The real solution, play the role in need. Want instant que? Make a tank. Fast que? Be a healer. Wana be Dps? Get your own group together or wait like the rest of us.. If you want 4 dps you can 100% just get a few from zone chat. Dungeons are designed around the holy trinity of roles and anybody that ques as tank on dps gets an insta kick and ignore. Tank is far more important than a healer and que is still shorter so if I have to face tank a dlc boss on my dps somebody is getting a few choice words before being replaced. I do my 40-50k dps single target so your “special” que is completely unneeded. If you want anything different get your own group together and don’t ruin a que. It’s so sad that playing my tank I have to get matched into a group that says “yay a real tank!” every day.

Zone chat was effective because the Undaunted hubs were where everybody gathered since:
    • the group finder was so broken as to be considered non-existent, and
    • the only other zones to be in were non-Undaunted hub zones and maybe Vvardenfell.
Craglorn is still the zone of choice for getting a trial group since it started out as the endgame zone, and it just kind of stuck since there's not really a reason to change. If they ever introduce a trial finder, its zone chat will eventually go the way of the "v14 tank LF gold pledges"

Yet I have seen it happen in WoW you get 2 - 3 Tank 2 DPS and 0 healers or 2 Tank 2 - 3 DPS and 0 healers so that is system doesn't always work and yes WoW dungeon is easy to play with there boost gear you can get at low lvl but it is not that fun that you need to keep yourself alive it messes the whole concept 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DPS and in WoW case 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 DPS for people stop or forget what role the should play in group, for dungeon was once up time the way to learn your role for the day to join raids

If you didn't know, random monster sets can be bought (w/gold or ap) from the golden vendor on weekends.

    & imo

Dual Specialization is a looong overdue QoL update that would alleviate some role disparity. Needs community traction to get notice.

GW2 has the best mmorpg lfg system I have ever played...no comparison...an ESO version would remove fake X need, long queue times, speed run vs story slow, etc....

This is not the reason why you do not have full monster sets. The real reason is you are relying on a computer to do all the work for you and you will not even meet it half way.

The best solution is to form your own group as you have greater control over getting a capable group as long as you are capable yourself. Join a decent guild to help you find people.

The second best choice is to tank or heal. You will get into groups faster. However, since most decent players go with the first option you are stuck with pot luck which often includes lesser skilled players.

Either way the choice is yours. Keep queueing solo in GF and blame the computer if you wish but either of those solutions is significantly better than what you suggested and works extremely well for a lot of players in this game.

Edit: To make it clear for the second option, we can all run multiople specs easily. I can tank or heal vet dungeons on every character I have merely by changing gear and skills. I do not bother changing CP just for a 4 man dungeon and have not had an issue.
