standardization is the big mistake of zos

They are trying since long time to standardize many skill and classes bring them to the same situation, but in my opinion they don't realize that there are things that can be equal and some others that can not. Not because is not possible, but because it breaks the identity of a class and homogenize too much.

A very clear example are dks. They are a class which tactic is put pressure with dots. Now seems they dots are at the same level as any other dot of other classes.

In my opinion they buffed dots to introduce a new gameplay variety, but then for some reason they changed it again, putting dots as some kind of second small source of damage. Now is like dots are only a thing to help when doing damage and to give an slightly advantage if they are used correctly.

Standardization is good because it makes easy to balance, but it can be dangerous because it makes all classes the same.

It has to be study very well before standardize something and see if it is the right decision or not.

In my opinion there are cases where it is ok, but then I would suggest to give to the skill something to make it original of that class and differentiate it of other similar skills of "other" classes.

I hope zos makes a little bit more brainstorming of how can they balance the game more easy and fair, but at the same time introduce new changes, variety, options and sets to make the game more fun and open every time more and more a whole range of possibilities.

not enough, they really have to invest in their combat team with more resources and people so they can make a combat system, CP, sets and boss mechanics overall during a major event like a chapter or something cause this is a trap...since start they neglect combat like if it was a secondary thing...

More and more intents to balance it will just make everything worse, no matter where you take it something else will be broken

Yeah, unless the theme is being completely gutted (which it might be), then the DK DoTs should be higher than the non-class DoTs. That said, I think the idea with the DK is that you'll be able to apply a bunch of DoTs in addtion to the general pool abilities.

If the idea with Stone Giant is that the DPS DK softens targets for the rest of the group, I'm cool with that, but the theme needs to be there, instead of just in one ability. (And apparently, Stone Giant doesn't apply the extra damage for other party members, in spite of how its tool tip is written, it just gives them Minor Brutality.)
