Ucarious✭✭✭when i read comments about dieing in 1 global while having 35K resists - i immediately recognize the author of the post is not a regular pvp player. I haven't had 30K+ resists on any toon i've played much less a light armor caster.
sorc feels great right now. not nearly as OP as it was with the old matriarch but still very deadly. the mobility of streak alone will always keep sorc relevant in the top tier discussions of pvp classes. Add in the potent burst of curse, frag, fury and sorc is very lethal.
positioning and timing are important on this light armor class - as it should be. if you are dieing on a sorc and giving up, it truly is a L2P issue.

My magsorc is capable of bursting down around 90% of all noCP Cyrodill players. Your combo is bad. I also don't know what is your build.
All I have to do is: LA(procs Berserker) -> Curse -> Bar swap -> LA -> Fury -> LA -> Crystal Frags -> CC -> repeat.
Squishy people drop in one combo. Most people drop in two or three combos. If fourth combo hasn't killed my enemy, then it means that he is running some unkillable tank build that does no damage and should be ignored untill all of his allies die and all of my allies can focus him with me.
Also Meteor is useless. Don't use it. You are only showing your enemy when your burst will occur so that he can block and mitigate your damage.
My build is taking into account surviavbility. not just running around with no sustain and no resistances and hoping to kill someone. you all sound like zergs i swear. Next patch Matriarch heal will be super strong while Streak will be more offensive oriented, and defensively weaker (lightning ball will be buffed defensively)
The only thing Sorc should receive is a more unique effect for his shields since right now are pretty much the same as the light armor version...
It's amazing how many people overlook this and can somehow say "sorc doesn't have good burst compared to x" with a straight face. This is why I said OP sounds like he has no clue what he's talking about.
I main MagSorc and do just fine. I explode people with no problems unless they are completely on top of their defenses and even then usually still burst them down. And this is only going to get easier next patch when all this passive damage via DoTs(and some key abilities like dswing) is nerfed down while our shields stay the same and our burst heal become outrageous.
Oh shut up! The top sorc players i know i just dot them up with magden and they die with my weapon sheathed. who the *** do you guys play against for *** sake?
On PC it doesnt count, everyone there is a *** potato with 0 resistances and mitigation.
Just because you're having skill issues with sorcs doesn't mean everyone else is. Yeah man, sorcs are gonna be in a pretty good spot next patch. The class is performing more or less how I would expect an MMO sorcerer to perform and the only thing I'd change is maybe a 15-20% increase to ward size since it more or less is a sorc thing to use shields to mitigate pressure while you set up burst or are trying to get away and reposition. But I could live without it so.
Edit: After some thought I realize I might not even want to change the shield size now that the dots and crap got nerfs. I'm pretty sure that'll make the shield size vs incoming damage even out more.Edited by Ucarious on September 20, 2019 3:48PM0 -

I agree, Sorcs have been overrated for a while. I’m a NB so put /nerf sorc for a joke but they’re nowhere as powerful as people make them out to be outside solo play. Negate is a skill and not a class.
Post patch the matriarch will give groups a reason to bring a magsorc instead of Templar. Im better than you, i know more than you, i have higher IQ than you, I have a better sorc than you, my sorc won more duels than you, and yet i understand that stats have large affect over your wins.

sorc feels great right now. not nearly as OP as it was with the old matriarch but still very deadly. the mobility of streak alone will always keep sorc relevant in the top tier discussions of pvp classes. Add in the potent burst of curse, frag, fury and sorc is very lethal.
positioning and timing are important on this light armor class - as it should be. if you are dieing on a sorc and giving up, it truly is a L2P issue.

My magsorc is capable of bursting down around 90% of all noCP Cyrodill players. Your combo is bad. I also don't know what is your build.
All I have to do is: LA(procs Berserker) -> Curse -> Bar swap -> LA -> Fury -> LA -> Crystal Frags -> CC -> repeat.
Squishy people drop in one combo. Most people drop in two or three combos. If fourth combo hasn't killed my enemy, then it means that he is running some unkillable tank build that does no damage and should be ignored untill all of his allies die and all of my allies can focus him with me.
Also Meteor is useless. Don't use it. You are only showing your enemy when your burst will occur so that he can block and mitigate your damage.
My build is taking into account surviavbility. not just running around with no sustain and no resistances and hoping to kill someone. you all sound like zergs i swear. It's amazing how many people overlook this and can somehow say "sorc doesn't have good burst compared to x" with a straight face. This is why I said OP sounds like he has no clue what he's talking about.
I main MagSorc and do just fine. I explode people with no problems unless they are completely on top of their defenses and even then usually still burst them down. And this is only going to get easier next patch when all this passive damage via DoTs(and some key abilities like dswing) is nerfed down while our shields stay the same and our burst heal become outrageous.

I expect there’ll be a lot more petsorcs which is a good thing imo. What’s been holding sorcs back in pvp imo is most spec selfishly and contribute 0 to the group beyond damage. Pet sorcs will be almost as good as Templars at cross healing, they’ll be much improved.

The class is performing more or less how I would expect an MMO sorcerer to perform and the only thing I'd change is maybe a 15-20% increase to ward size since it more or less is a sorc thing to use shields to mitigate pressure while you set up burst or are trying to get away and reposition. But I could live without it so.
I agree, Sorcs have been overrated for a while. I’m a NB so put /nerf sorc for a joke but they’re nowhere as powerful as people make them out to be outside solo play. Negate is a skill and not a class.
Post patch the matriarch will give groups a reason to bring a magsorc instead of Templar. Right now whenever I see a group of 4 magsorcs they get destroyed in BGs because they can’t really support each other, the patch will help a ton.
I don't like pets and won't be using them, but as things stand on pts rn, my Sorc will be able to offer group support in two ways it used to which it can't right now: Resto staff healing (which I dropped for DoTs) and BoL (while retaining the targeted AoE stun which is also very useful in group play).

Yeah, if you don't do pet builds there are options now that are still viable like rapid regen or radiating regen and surge etc. It's gonna be good unless they do something to the class before the patch comes out.0 -
